Since 2001, Mayweather has only 7 knockouts in 16 fights. Pacquiao has 17 in 23 fights. Now we saw what Pacquiao did to Cotto and if you watch boxing you would know that Cotto is a much stronger puncher than Floyd. So if you mean "destroy" in a sense that Mayweather will severely hurt Pacquiao, I highly doubt it.
i enjoyed mayweather vs hatton and mayweather vs zab judah and gatti. I dont think cotto punches much harder than mayweather if at all. mayweather is capable of knocking pac man out for sure.
i think the best of mayweather will come out when someone seriously challenges him, which i feel pac man would do.
yes, pac man's fights tend to be more exciting than mayweather's, but, that does not mean they are better. it depends on what you like. some people admire and appreciate mayweathers brillance in hitting and not getting hit while others love the excitement that pac man brings in standing toe to toe and exchanging punches with the other guy.
i am in awe of mayweather's ability to avoid punches while not moving his feet. most people, fighters included when they sense danger (someone punching at your head) they get out of the way.. ie .. retreat and move their feet. but, mayweather is so good that his feet are stationary and he just moves his upper body an inch or 2 one way or the other. he is a master at defense. most importantly, while he is avoiding punches he remains in a striking position almost always.
i respect pac man's skills but, i think mayweather will beat him.
also, you must understand that the object of boxing is to hit and not get hit and no one in the world is better at that than mayweather.
one more thing... there is a saying in boxing...
"styles make fights" you put someone in the ring with mayweather who is an aggressor and can withstand getting hit alot and still challenge him then you will see mayweather in a great fight.
