Mayweather vs Mosley likely to fight next. Mayweather will pick apart "the best welterweight" imo.

HBO realllly should find a way to have this and the Pacquiao fight on one PPV.

Please let this happen. As far as the PPV situation if both fights happen on the same nights, I don't think it'll be possible to have both fights on 1 card. HBO has to pick one or the other which is an easy decision, imo. (Floyd/Mosely). I hope they don't fight on the same night since I really want to watch both fights.

Edit: it says in the article the Mayweather-Mosely fight is unlikely to be on March 13th.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mayweather fight Moseley in the future. Only thing is that he'd be doing it while Moseley is pushing 40 and is out of his prime.
yea its a shame, Floyd has all world talent....too bad he will never fight Shane, cause hes scared. There would be a greater than 1% chance for him to lose...too much risk for him

Berto lost at least eight family members in the disaster.

"Since the 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti on Tuesday evening, I have been focusing on my family and the Haitian people who are facing an inconceivable battle for survival while still trying to continue to prepare for an opportunity I have dreamt of since childhood," Berto said in a statement. "I lost several family members to the earthquake and, after two days without word, was relieved to learn that my sister, Naomi, and her daughter, Jessica, survived, but were left homeless. I have seen the pain in my parents' eyes as they attempt to understand what has happened to our homeland and recognize a place they once called home.

"As a result of this disaster, I am mentally and physically exhausted and, therefore, I have no choice but to withdraw from my bout on January 30."

he did not lose any of his immediate family. athletes have to deal with all kind of stuff. brett favre dad died and he played a few days later. I am sure if i searched, i could find examples of worse things happening to fighters preparing for a fight and they still fought. this has to be one of the weakest excuses i have heard for pulling out of a fight so close to the fight.

i believe it was a mistake for him to take this fight anyway and imo his handlers realized he was not ready for mosley. i feared the kid would get beat bad and possibly ruined as a fighter.

I think it's a legitimate excuse. Why would he avoid the biggest fight of his life? I believe this is his biggest payday and correct me if I'm wrong, but Berto isn't really known for backing out of big fights. It's true that there are athletes that deal with stuff similar to this, however, it doesn't necessarily mean that every athlete deals with it the same way. If you look at that article, all the promoter's, including HBO, understand completely.

Also, the earthquake happened a week ago, which is less than a month before the fight. It's the most important time for a fighter to be prepared. I believe he was in Haiti soon after the earthquake hit. There was no way he would get any training done if that were the case.

Wow. F+

I don't think you really understand the magnitude of the situation in Haiti. This is an extremely ignorant post.

The biggest fight of all time was called off over failure to compromise on blood testing; that's weak. This dude's family is involved in one of the most horrific natural disasters in modern history and he's not justified in pulling out?

This is certainly not a ***** move by Berto. If the Mayweather/Pacquiao fiasco never happened, people wouldn't even argue this.

I just can't believe that they are willing to fight anybody except each other. What happens if one of them loses? Surely, its not a 0% prospect. Or, one could be hurt, get in a car accident or any other unforeseen incident that could come in the way of an 80m dollar payday. Unfathomable from my perspective.

The longer they wait, the less money they stand to make from the fight.

That's why I think there's a 98% chance of this fight happening, probably in May. Btw, Mosely already agreed to Mayweather's testing demands.

Manny opened as around 3-1 underdog vs clottey. Will be interesting fight.

I envision Manny winning rounds fairly easily then getting rocked in the mid rounds and on the verge of being KO'd. Clottey gets exhausted chasing pacquiao down trying to finish him and Manny hangs on for a unanimous decision victory.

Your an idiot man. I had ringside tickets for this fight and I haven't complained one bit some things are a little more important than a stupid boxing match.

Clottey's chin is granite, but his power is OK. IMO, Cotto hits harder than Clottey.

Pacman's gonna beat Clottey. Gonna go similar to Pacquiao/Cotto. Clottey takes a round or two early, Pac finds his groove and dominates the rest of the way.
