The Borgata failed in its job to provide a safe and secure venue. They stretched its staff too thin. They ignored the signs of cheating
From a very early point on day one. It was brought to Tabs attention on day 1b that 5 k chips didn't look right. The problem here is there are too many Pot smoking P""ssys playing these days with no other plan in life that they are too lazy to stand up for player fairness. If I went to the store and bought 4 loafs of bread only to get home and find them all moldy. I would go back to the store and demand a refund. The pot smokers would just get the munchies and eat the Borgata bread.
1 percent of the chips in play were fakes. There were 3 slightly different real 5k chips. I'm sure some of the chips were looked through and they probably looked through the wrong ones because there were new 5k chips that are very shiny and look different from the older dull gray ones.

I think you will ultimately get your refund.

But most people whining for a refund are just pansy assed losers looking for a handout.

I played the event and hope I get something and ultimately it would probably be better for business if they did. But i don't feel entitled to it.

Sorry Bud, if I go to a movie and the movie sucks I don't feel entitled to a refund. If I go to the same movie and the equipment breaks The I feel entitled to a refund.

Yeh lets turn this into a drug policy discussion thread, mods change title please.

But seriously if this guy only introduced these chips during the flight he played (day1B iirc), would be absurd to refund day1a and day1c players who didnt make day2.

What if he knocked out players with fake chips and that made them buy into day 1 c to knock others out when they shouldn't of been knocked out in the first place chain reaction. Which day did he at I've read day 1c ?

And I have this feeling borgata may just pay 27 left 27 th place money refund everyone their money bacl and end it set up a rule or route to go if it happens again a plan of action so to speak.

Think it would be in the best interest of Borgata to bring this matter to a conclusion soon, whatever their determination might be, vs. letting it drag on too much longer.

I would venture to guess this is totally out of Borgata's hands and in NJG. I think a $1 million Freeroll for all Event 1 participants while players are still in AC would kind of appease 50% of the players. No way to make everyone happy

This is exactly why everyone deserves a refund.

It's not the Borgotas fault that this guy cheated, however it is their responsibility to suck it up and take care of their customers which paid for a service they failed to provide. The Borgota should be looking to get their money from the criminal that caused the damage. They have no right to keep any of players buyins because they didn't fulfill their end of the bargain. Plain and simple.

I still cannot get over the fact that this guy tried to flush the remaining counterfeit chips down the toilet. I would really want to know if there were any other options because it amazes me that this is the one he chose.

By now, the cops have the perp's phone (and therefore access to all his contacts over the last week), and his computer if he brought one with him. They should know if he traveled with or communicated with anyone else during this crime. They have the power to get a warrant for expenditures and all communications, including those from home. They will have looked at video surveillance coverage in several locations.

It should be very apparent if there were accomplices.

proving what this guy DID is easy.

proving what he and/or others DID NOT do is pretty hard.

If someone can prove what he or others DID NOT do then yeah only affected players deserve refunds.

Not sure how one proves the "DID NOT".

Tossing them in the water outside of harrah's would have been a better choice....

Coming up with a fair solution to all involved must be a logistical nightmare. There might be another consideration for Borgata here, namely its relationship with WPT. WPT (AFAIK) has kept a relatively clean image amidst the various scandals affecting on-line and live poker. I’m guessing there have been some tense discussions going on now between the two parties, especially since Borgata has gotten additional hosting privileges for WPT events. To restore trust, Borgata might feel compelled to compensate customers more generously for the sake of long-term business. It seems clear that Borgata will be forced to take whatever measures to prevent another occurrence.

Dude obviously isn't all there. I like to imagine a maid knocking at his hotel door and him flipping the F out and scrambling to get all the chips in the toilet.

A more likely scenario is that he tested out the toilet with something before flushing the chips and thought he was good to go.

Off topic: Doesn't matter. The maid cannot enter your room if you tell her not to. If the maid doesn't accept that, call the front desk.

She didn't force you. She was probably hot.

I'm not sure when your penis (and diddling it) first entered your mind, but nothing in my post even suggested that I questioned the undeniable fact that there were counterfeits introduced. In fact, I tried to make it clear that the amount introduced should probably never impact TD's thinking because 1% is completely acceptable variance.

TL/DR - Don't think about your penis so much.
If you want to be taken seriously, you really need to stop posting nonsense.

Warrantless cell phone searches of arrestees happen routinely in many parts of the country.

In fact, the Supreme Court agreed to rule on the issue last week.

Supreme Court will decide if warrantless cellphone searches are constitutional [theverge.com]
Supreme Court's decision will serve as a mandate for circuit courts and states that are currently divided on the issue. Presently, the Fourth, Fifth, and Seventh US Circuit Courts, along with the supreme courts of Georgia, California, and Massachusetts, allow for cellphone search without a warrant.

The practice has been ruled illegal by the First Circuit and the supreme courts of Florida and Ohio.
