that river call with JJ was really bad. Eli isn't raising the turn with complete air and since Howard holds JJ, its even less likely that Eli raise the turn with a straight draw.

Howard seems to play bad on 4 flush boards.

Are they going to play the second week on the same day? I hope not, because last time they did it, all the players were lethargic.

So essentially you're wrong and dumb.
They have been friends since Ivey started out on the east coast in Atlantic City. They used to play with him all the time when he was learning to play.

You're all a bunch of NITS, how can you not love all the props and smacktalk? If you seriously look @ pad for poker advice then loolollolol, half their plays are probably based on reads from hands months ago. Poker on TV is just pure entertainment imo, a plus when the players make sick reads etc.

LOL I love durrrrs hate against the 25/50 and 10/20 regulars, to Antonius about 200/400:

"I mean, you could probably also get action since you've been running bad (at NL) for a while, I mean, people are so dumb and results oriented."

I really think that PA would have called if he wasn't stuck so much. Although that may sound counter-intuitive I think his read was spot on but at the last second he thought "am I really gonna make another loose call here?"

If he had been winning and happy with his reads I think he would've snapped Ivey off. That being said, I think Ivey realized this and knew his bet had a ridiculous chance of taking it down.

Some of us do want to watch poker, and not a reality show about people who sometimes play poker.

BTW, why do people who love props need to be such verbally abusive douchebags? I can't recall a single post where the poster supported props and yet wasn't a dick to people to hated them.

I would rather watch Bob Safai, who himself acted like a jerk last time he was on PAD, in Ivey's seat.
I'm not sure you recognize the irony of your post. You seem to frown on Phil because he's an action junkie, who is bored with the game as it is being played. You are bored with the lineup, despite the fact that it features many of the greatest players in the world, and would prefer a loose action player like Bob Safai to watch. Quite ironic.

Despite that the fact that props take away the "pure" play of the poker, I still enjoy watching the best players in the world. If you'd prefer to watch Bob, Jamie Gold and the like, then you're just watching for the action. I prefer to watch the best. The prop bets actually seem to keep Phil more interested in this week's PAD than in previous shows when the prop bets didn't exist. I think his play has shown that to be the case.

These people are fools. Phil Ivey doesn't give a rats @$$ about them, and obviously finds them an embarrassing annoyance (but then so do I).
I believe other posters have already show this to be incorrect.

solid episode. if antonius were to call Iveys bet that would have been a fun call to see.

Also zigmund just couldn't get any cards going I guess.

Durrr never calls raises with A-x unless it's A-10 or higher from what I've seen. You never know where you are if an ace flops.

Well that 75 vs. Q7 hand wasn't that great I do that all the time in cashgames when the pot/the bets are so small and I'm in position. I mean you just keep floating and in the end, when you get the opportunity, you bluff at it in position. I mean Ivey was just bored and it was only a couple thousand to call, no reason to wet yourselves guys ... I mean come on.
Antonius should definitely have called, I don't understand why he didn't.

I'm pretty sure they get it.. they'd just rather not watch a game of poker that isn't influenced by prop bets.
The worst part about the props is that it dominates the CONVERSATION....which is much of the reason to watch PAD. We get to be a fly on the wall of a huge poker game that most of us will never play in. Who wants to hear all the BS prop talk. Even in the midst of some huge hands.

BAN THE PROPS!

It's a forum, you're supposed to be a dick. Anyway, if you didn't take my accentuation of 'nits' as fun needling then you need to get of your high horse imo.

I've pretty much never seen a poker game where getting 3bet out of position by a non maniac with AT can have a +ev response that isn't folding.

mostly true, though he could have 4bet if he thought howard was 3betting thinner than usual due to being frustrated (and i think that was probably the case, since you'll notice howard is almost always flatting hands like AQ/JJ to a raise regardless of position). a 4bet likely would've worked since AQ is near the bottom end of the hands howard would 3bet for value. of course patrik would be turning his hand into a total bluff but it has some advantages over 4betting 87o or something (card removal on the A, and has decent equity when howard flats with KK-JJ)

obviously you can argue for 3betting/4betting in all sorts of situations, i just think that would have been one worth considering. howard was probably frustrated enough to 3bet wider, but not frustrated enough to get in a huge 4bet pot lightly and risk losing another buy-in. especially since i believe only one 4bet pot has shown down all game and both players had AA... no 4betting going on at all so it should hold a lot of weight if anyone but durrr does it

fwiw I'm pretty sure that Eli is the person with the most gutshot hits on the turn on HSP and PAD cash game combined, it's pretty sick.
He's probably the one chasing the most too though.

I was screaming for Patrik to call Ivey's bluff, it would have been so good. How could Patrik possibly know that Ivey double floated multi-way? So nuts.

Eli likes to bet/donk xyy boards, and Ivey knows this. If you watch carefully in all the episodes he gives Eli a look every time he does it (at least 3 times I think.) It's hilarious.

I loled when Howard accidentally flipped his AQ, he looks so dejected. Then everyone started saying "power poker" a bunch and I loled even harder.

Lol @ the commentary dude. Ali Nejad or w/e. "Eli would hate to be up against a better 8". Wtf, I really doubt Eli's that worried about crazy overbet merged ranges there.

I don't understand when Antonius mentioned falling asleep. Can't he just sit out? It's not like he's playing a tournament. Is it considered disrespectful to leave in the middle of a high stakes session or what?

the games were probably super good (guy laliberte was probably playing). also the fact that nosebleeds dont run that often, so when they do, sleep is going to be the last thing on your mind.
