The issue here is that nobody, or close to it, is wrong about absolutely everything either. They probably get something trivial right like their two times table. So in that regard, when you consider supporting someone to mean "they're occasionally right about something", you're forced to say you "support" everyone. Except you don't, because you mean something more than "just barely occasionally right". Everyone gets that you might occasionally quibble over something.

So the typical interpretation of supporting someone like Milo is going to be that you think he's right about the topics he speaks on in general, and that you don't think the things he's wrong about are sufficient to withdraw any support you have for him.

That's why when people bring up the awful things said or done by someone like Milo, and that's not sufficient for you to say "Oh wow, **** that guy then", they interpret your stance as, at best, suspect.

I can give some clear examples of people not to say you support to illustrate the point, if you'd like.
