You said century.

Papers retrieved from the USSR after the fall of Communism showed that, contrary to posing a huge threat of nuclear annihilation to the West, their warheads weren't anywhere near as numerous as the US had believed (or wanted people to believe) and the USSR existed in a perpetual state of paranoia about the possibility of a first attack from the US - hence the annexation of parts of Eastern Europe, providing a buffer zone against invasion.

Many people in the UK opposed its nuclear deterrent and its US air bases on these grounds, rightly as history has shown.

wil, wtf are you talking about? There are left wing anarchists and right wing anarchists, just as there are liberal socialists and liberal conservatives.

Think of these terms (anarchists, liberals) as dimensions to the straight line Left/Right, not as points on it.

Oh, now you're asking for a good spanking, bitch.

No, Britain was considerably poorer than the US throughout the Cold War and in the 1960s the (socialist) Wilson government was spending 6% of GDP on defence compared to less than 2% by the (conservative) Cameron government from 2010.

And the reason the US ended the Second World War rich and Britain ended it poor is simply that the US took all our money, for mostly third-rate military equipment, in 1939-41. The inrush of British money saved the US economy from the Second Recession of 1938 which Britain didn't experience. Without all that British money, the US would pretty much have reverted to mud huts, tribal warfare, incest and cannibalism. (Although, of course, large parts of the US are like that anyway, even today. Only with trailer homes and tin shacks instead of mud huts.)

LOL no. We had a few day binge of idiots using them as a source for "80% of all 9th circuit cases are overturned." Unless multiple people read that article and read it wrong. With the relative IQ of the posters in this forum, I guess that is possible too.

Lot of reaction today to both Maher and milo being transphobic. Did not watch the whole show nor doubt I will - too much yelling

I watched the 1 on 1 and the overtime, didn't feel like there was too much yelling. Milo got what he wanted, he got attention, got the liberals to over react and say **** you to him.

I was surprised how little the crowd reacted to things Milo said. Usually there are tons of boos and such.

I like Milo better as a blonde, I think. But not the totally white blonde. Like he had it on Rubin's show. Also better in a suit and tie.

What I noticed the most was the "go **** yourself" from the 2/3 of the panel. There seemed to be some underlying animosity, but I may be mistaken.

It worries me that we are this divided. It worries me more that there seemed to be a racial animosity, but it may be flawed perception on my part. I hope.

It seems everything worried me these days.

You're worried that the US isn't united under Trump?

And you think this is because of Trump or people like you calling trump literally Hitler for the past year? The animosity between Americans right now is on the shoulders of the left, throwing temper tantrums because they didn't get their way.
02-19-2017 , 09:54 AM
LOL you're a terrible poster who either fails to see the relevance of what's happening in the US under Trump or who supports it.

You are not getting your way and that is worse than a temper tantrum, it's like a hollow, dull tantrum.

The people who foresaw that trump dabbles in hitlerly should get medals if they also prepared for it.
