Games here are beatable. Comps suck for poker players but you can eat for free: $0.60/hr for 1/2 and $1/hr for 2/5. Not sure about neighboring hotels but if you pull it up on google maps you should be able to look around for one and call for rates. Definitely let me know when you're coming, I'd be down to show you around!

Someone told me there was a motel/hotel about a half a mile from Hard Rock, can anyone tell me the name of that Hotel and the distance from the HR poker room, and the prices. Do they have special rates if you pay cash for a month, and is it a mom and pop run motel, or a more expensive NAME motel? I can't afford the Hard Rock room rates. Also, how are the comps, if any? I'm planning on leaving Vegas 4 HR Tampa in a couple weeks, so any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks, brothers
Sounds like you're maybe "borderline bankrolled" for 2/5? That game's a lot more expensive than 1/2, both are beatable as others have said. I'll ask you the same question about vegas, since I've never played there. Have you been getting your ass kicked and heard Hard Rock is softer? Or do you feel Vegas is soft as well?

The motel is the East Lake Inn. Rates are about $280 for the week. Its a 2 min drive and a 5-10 min walk. I stay there all the time since i live in Orlando. The rooms a simple and bare like any motel, but is does the job if you are looking for a place while trying to grind. Also, it seems pretty safe as i haven't seem any shady characters or hard core druggies bringing unwanted traffic. Most of the guest are tourists looking for a deal, guys bringing flings, or laborers staying for a week or so.

Bro, I've been playing mainly at Redrock. 1/2 NL is pretty snug usually. The actions a little better at 2/5 NL. If I was going to go to the better 1/2 $2/5 NL games here in Vegas, I'd go to Mandalay, MGM, Venetian, you know more drop ins/ recreationals. Actually, I'm from the central Florida area from 1970- 1995, so I'm familiar with Tampa, Orlando. The Vegas 2/5 NL games are prob like most joints, decent action, depending on the crew. Yeah, I know what ya mean about the higher BR needed to play the 2/5, but I like playing it because of the good action (And the large amount of chips on the table), and I usually use a stop/loss. Bro, this is based on, being able to buy in for $200, and I would buy $200, re buy $200, then if busto make 1 last buy for $400. This gives you 12 plays, at $800 per. Of course I'd like to have 20K, but I'll be playing prob with 10K behind me ( friends backin me). I can always play down if it starts poorly. With 10k, you could play half way comfortable, unless you tilt off the farm (Or have such tendencies). I hope the buy in is only $200 Allot of my family members are in Tampa, so I'm going to visit and play poker. GL, bro

Why would you want to go when it's slow?
