Yea, I was there last night and around 1am on a 2/4 limit table (always...) or so it was hit with AA vs KK both flopped sets, then runner runner quads, one lady won the low end and the only guy at the table won the high end. There were wives of several regulars at the table, so I feel kind of good for them I guess. 2 people were out for a smoke, so the rest of the table got split 6 ways vs 8 so they made a little more. Also BRAD was the dealer, wish it was someone else dealing...

Also the room emptied out FAST. It surprised me how quick that even the higher limit tables thinned out, I thought 2/5 and above werent there for the BBJ, but guess not... I was playing 2/5 and my table broke within a half hour, then went to 2 more tables before I left around 4:30a. Of course it reset back to 100 grand which is complete BS... when I left at 4:30, they still had not been payed out.

Talk to one of the tourney supervisors.
I would be unable to pick it up on a Friday. Is it good to pick up right after you qualify? I live an hour away, and won't make a trip there just to pick up a ticket.

hmm it says playing 2/4 no limit texas hold em but they either mean 2/4 limit or 1/2nl.
I play 1/2nl with that asian lady all the time. her and her friend play tons of hours there.
she just got 12th on the wpt freeroll today too, but only pays 10.

They took out the 75/150 level and others later im sure.
About 100 didnt show. They only sat around 250 and then filled bust players with empty seat stacks to blind off.

I decided to take a stab at the 20 hours this week. It may be tough to complete it, because I live in Orlando, have a full time job, and go to school full time.

Anyway, I sat down at 1/2 for the first time since the law changed. Even though I despise that a 1/2 with a 40 min / 100 max exists, I still found it plenty profitable. I was running really good in the 1/3 game when the law first changed, but I think now the play is A LOT softer in the 1/2, and that's just fine with me.

I was at table 3 for 6 hours today, starting at 10:30 AM. Walked out with a $266 profit, with my only goal being to at least break even over the 20 hours and be able to free roll a $240 deep stack. I may do the last 14 hours in one sitting, possibly Wednesday.

How is the $240 deep stack?

$240 is not really a deepstack but they like to call it that.
6500 chips optional $10 dealer add on for 1000 more. 25 min. blinds
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
200/400
300/600
400/800
500/1000
600/1200
800/1600
1000/2000
not sure how the jumps are after this. probably not to good.

200+ people qualified the 1st week so the $240 tourney wed. at 7:30pm will have a huge field(for a change) normally only 40-50.

I'm going to the hard rock tomorrow. It will be the first time i ever go to a casino. Any tips about the hard rock? I'm going there to gamble in addition to poker. How many tables do they have? Do they have all table games? Any advice or knowledge at all?

If your going to play casino games also then get a players club card from the casino players club, its the same card as you would get in poker room but I think there is some bonus slot money or something if your new.
They dont have craps or roulette but just about everything else.
your slot rewards are seperate from BJ/other table games and poker is seperate from all that.
In the poker room you get .60/hour rewards and $1/hour for 2/5nl and higher.

Can you explain more about the players card?

EDIT: went and viewed the website about the card and read everything about it except how you earn points.

Of the 23 times the BBJ has been hit, what is the break down of the limits where it was hit? Surely 2/4 limit has hit the most......

All you need to know is, when you first come in the place, immediately go to the "Player's Club" counter. Give her your ID, answer a few basic questions, then they'll give you a card with your name on it. When you go to sit for a game, just hand the card to the dealer to swipe it, and you'll accrue points automatically.

Probably around 95%. Hence my previous statement about no bbj on anything higher than 2/5nl.

The 1/2 at the Hard Rock to me is the softest 1/2 game in the area. Maybe it's just me but if you play over at the Silks, where you can buy in for 100BB, the play is much different and you usually have many more solid regs. The Rock 1/2 is easy money if you just sit back and play TAG ABC poker.

Yea, and the 1/1nl games at silks take all the super fish away from the 1/2nl games there. The 1/2nl games are still ok there just not like Hard rocks 1/2nl games.

Yeah Parisron, totally agree. I think it's a good thing the rock has the old buy-ins for the 1/2 game, keeps the super fish in those games and the casual player who walks in and decides to donk off a hundred. I'd prefer if the game was at the Silks since I live 10 minutes away, but I will happily drive to the Hard Rock for the softestness of their 1/2 vs. the Silks.

Why was I even bothering with the tougher 1/3 game? 50 BBs sucks, and some regs are determined to buy in for 20 BBs over and over (WTF?), but it's still easy to chip up and be comfortable. I'm going to stick to the 1/2 whenever I make it down there for sure.

Do they still O/8 here. If so, how often does it go and at what limits?
I was in Orlando for a week a few years ago. Call and asked if they had O/8. They said yes and it goes every night. Drove all the way there to find out it was a $1/$2 game. What a waste of time. My own fault for not asking about the stakes in advance.

Going back to Orlando in April. Want to find out if it is worth the drive over.

New laws July 1st 2010 enabled them to raise limits, buy ins, etc.
There is Omaha H/L going everyday its 3/6 limit with full kill.
They can offer bigger games but nobody was interested in bigger omaha/8.
