Re: the PLO "syndicate"

Here's a hand from this week that we can enter into the evidence file. Call it Exhibit 753:

Colluder 1 limps utg. Random guy raises to $20 from MP. Another random calls. Colluder 2 calls from button. Back to Colluder 1, who true min-raises to $35. (Pretty normal play, right? Limp/min-raise oop 4 ways?) He then proceeds to actually announce it, saying, "It's a min-raise," after putting the chips in. Raiser calls, other random calls, back to Colluder 2 who thinks for a bit, then calls.

Flop is K-high, gets checked to random raiser who bets and takes it down, showing KKxx. Immediately after the hand, the Colluders are looking at each other. C1 doesn't look pleased with her (that's right, ya cheating SOB, you probably could've squeezed KK guy out if she'd executed the plan). C2 is shaking her head "no", and mouthing to C1 what her hand was.

I was in the BB, sitting right between them as they had their not-so-subtle post-hand discussion. I love that they don't even feel the need to disguise it. It's really nice that we're all so comfortable with each other.

Oops - I meant just short stack positioned after him. Your earlier post called him "tight player", so I thought you already knew. Could go either way - fold or all-in I suppose. I probably favor the fold, depending on my reads. Once again, I don't like risking 1/3 of my stack for a flip at best, along with the chance that EP raiser calls with a dominating hand. But I have been called a nit.

I don't think I even would want to be in a coin flip against SB for 1/3 my stack at that point. Find a better spot.
I sorta agree with this too. I was originally going to say calling > folding > shoving, and I might still lean that way, but it's close between the two imo.

I heard from a dealer that 1/1 nl and the limit games would get $150 instead of the ~$1600 ticket. Not sure about PLO but I'd imagine it will be eligible for the ticket.

Bleh, I go to the front today after a session to get a gas card I've earned, they tell me that "the person with the gas cards isn't here, come back in 30 mins." Maybe I'm just irritable after a bad session but what the heck, I don't want to wait around there when I'm done playing. How is there like one special person with the authority to give out the gas cards? Like they need half an hour to collectively channel the energy to summon the ****ing Gas Card Lord and awake him from his oily slumber

Staying in middle of Orlando with family next month. Is this closest casino to there? Googled it and it says about an hour drive, sound about right?

having Omaha players who put maybe 1/10th of the money into the promo fund scoop the tickets for a NL Hold 'em main event seat makes absolutely no sense. Even speaking with Tom personally about it last month and I quote him "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it" There Bad beats are separate so why can't the promos be separate? if they are contributing 1/10th of the month they should win 1/10th of a Main event seat. it's so black and white.

It's not as bad without the limit Omaha, but yeah, PLO is still going to take a disproportionate number of wins.

Also, last day of February and the March tournament calendar is not up in the usual place. You can apparently find it if you click on the poker blog, although it's in a list format instead of the pretty calendar format.

Sadly, the Saturday black chip bounty still starts at 7pm, which is absurd. Start it at 3pm! Saturday's the day that people who can't afford to mess up their sleep schedules can play during the day! The only reason to start tourneys at 7pm is to get people who are coming in after work.
