Hand 1.) Villain is a loose rich guy that tells you when he has you beat, brags about all his nice toys and doesn't care about the money. He has a ~4k stack because people don't believe he would outright tell them what he has. I'm sitting around 1200. We've been going back and forth at each other for an hour or so and he's made a couple comments where "I'm the only player at the table he respects." I've been raising all most all of his limps in position, just to get a pot going on the flop since we're deep.
Villain limps UTG with 88, 1 caller, I raise to 20 (expecting 2-3 calls) with JQs. Folds all around to the limpers who call.
Flop comes 89T rainbow. Villain (Mr. Honesty) fires out 80 into the pot and a few seconds later says "your Aces are no good". Other limper folds. I'm 100% his range is 2 pair, a set, or a flopped straight. I hate my play on this hand because I could have gotten it all in on the flop, but was only taking a shot and didn't want to rebuy... so I wanted to wait until the river. Turn comes a 5, he fires 200, I call. River 5.... he fires 300, I crying call.
Villain would keep playing for a couple hours and left the table with ~$200 of his 4k stack. I'd eventually get that money back from him, but I only made maybe 1-200 off of him when it should have been 1-2k.
2.) Villain = older nitty guy. This hand only happened maybe an hour into playing with him, but he's tight/passive. Effective table stacks are 500 each (I have 2100 at this point but it doesn't matter).
He raises to 15 UTG with AcQc, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds. I call from MP with 78hh (may be a leak here, but the table was passive mostly and I was playing lots of pots as a result). Folds to the BB who calls.
Flop comes Ah5h6c rainbow with 1 club. Villain fires 40, UTG+1 folds, I call, BB folds. Turn = 9c.... jackpot. He fires 60, I raise to 200 (should I have raised more?). He calls. River = Jc.... he checks, I fire for his last 200 and change. He obv. calls and says "I've got the nuts".
I definitely made a few plays towards the end of the session I'm not too proud of (maybe not the best idea to make my first shot last 27 hours), but all in all the tables are ridiculously soft and I love it lol.
Nice job TC!
If you think about it, even though maybe should have been up more, in hand #1 money should really have gone in on the flop and or the turn, he wasn't folding his bottom set either way so you got lucky by playing it slow. In hand #2 IMO this type of player usually won't fold TP + NFD, even with one card to come and the wrong odds to call. Sounds like you did well and considering that you must have gotten tired during the session it was a real good and successful shot, continued good luck to you!
