I can't find the Spring Poker Open structure sheet anywhere either - not even on the WPT site. Maybe Scott can copy and paste it to a post here?

You cannot even get the structure sheets at the THR a week before the event starts. There is almost no marketing material available about the event on site. They as of yesterday still had up the gas card promo material. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result.Someone, anyone needs to own these tournaments at THR,but no one ever does. They have fixed a few issues over the past 2 plus years, but are still way behind the curve.

There are structure sheets for every event available at the brush stand.

We have just hired a new Tournament Manager.

Would you please post the structure sheet for the Spring Poker Open here in the forum, or provide it via a link on the SHR website, perhaps?

+1 I don't make it over there very often (so can't get a copy from brush stand) and would like to see the structure before deciding to play. I'm sure a lot of people fall into the same category as me.

Scott,

This is just an absurdly bad way to run a poker room. If you guys would advertise these events well ahead of time, with all details included on the website (wtf do you have a website for?), I promise you the turnouts would be larger. Absolutely ridiculous that such a large, "professionally run" poker room still can't get this crap right after years of running events like these.

Get you guys' crap together, or hire someone who will. (I could personally run the website better than it has ever been run, it's really not that damn hard). No wonder I almost never play poker there... I never know wtf is going on. Oh, but I can drive 45 mins and get a structure sheet at the brush stand. I forgot. Jesus...........

Agreed!

It absolutely sucks to have to continue to travel just to play proper poker tourneys when there's a HR in my own backyard. I understand that S FL has more people & $, but even Jax gets the real deal & not Tampa. Friggin' blows that whoever actually is responsible for securing and running tournaments at the Tampa HR is so inept.

Lol at having to send an email address to get structure info.... Classic Tampa hard rock, glad they hired a new Tournament Director...
It's these weird and non-standard actions that are exactly why I don't go play there when it's right around the corner but I drive hours to play events all over the south east

Scott, please let HR learn from this. What everyone is saying is true. I don't really play tournaments much, but I might play some at the HR if I didn't have to send a freaking email to know the structure. Put yourself in our shoes and see how ridiculous that is. And inform the room. It's a really simple fix to a very stupid problem.

Scott can you comment on this? these people are like vultures trying to scoop up tickets for cheap to resell.

People mover: if you are worried about inequitable distribution of promotional rake how much do you think tournament players contribute to the promotional funds? Yet tournament players are receiving 100% of promotional monies in March. If people won’t play WPT tournaments unless they are paid to play via promotional funds contributed by cash players then why not stop hosting WPT events? The Little Slick tournaments did just fine without subsidies from cash players.

PM makes a very legitimate point.

The promo situation at THR is a huge cluster flock, they just don't care. There have been a number of positive and constructive suggestions on how to improve the room through monthly promos, including several well thought out ideas as to monthly blended promo structures that would benefit the room and different player types, but THR won't listen because to them players don't matter.

Every time there is change there is hope things will improve, and they seem to for a while, then you get things like the structure sheet joke of a situation. They have a near monopoly due to the casino and they run their business like there is no serious competition (because there isn't).

The fact that they can't figure out why players would want to see a structure sheet well in advance of tournaments and/or that they are unwilling or unable or both to upload a PDF file to their website with structures speaks volumes.

I registered to this forum just to point out how on point this post is. I live in Orlando and play poker semi-regularly around Florida. when i get a block of free time i generally search the net for the events that i want to play. I stumbled on the event the HR is running and was looking for the structure sheet to make my final decision. currently i was deciding between playing in Jacksonville or going to the Isle this weekend. and i've already decided on the Isle for next weekend. i've played in enough WPT/WSOP circuits to have an idea of how each event is gonna be run but the fact i can't find the information i want is discouraging and leads me to think the turn out is gonna be crappy because only people close to the vest are gonna even know about the event. im gonna send a text to my buddy who's a pro who plays/lives in Tampa to get some details. But i'm ready to skip this event simply out of principle.

def see your point as a lot of the cash grinders don't even play tourneys.

The question posted above can be answered, but just to preempt what may be coming next, anyone who signals that they are looking to buy/sell a seat is getting banned. You cannot conduct business in B&M, you have to do that in the Marketplace forum.

Is it okay to post here something like "I have a post now in the Marketplace Forum about a seat ticket to the ...." ? OK to include a link to that post?

I've heard of a couple that sold for $1200-$1300, but I've heard of few people at my tables say that they'd be more than happy with $1000 if they won it. Others believe if they wait until the day of the tourny, they'll get $1500 easy so it really depends who you're buying from obv.

Noted, but asking, "What are they selling for?" and then someone responding, "I saw one sold for X$" is perfectly fine, no?

I sincerely wish I could run this poker room and its website. There is zero doubt in my mind that even with no experience in the casino industry or having ever worked in a poker room, that I could run the show so much more efficiently and please poker players far more than any staff who has ever worked there has. Really sad stuff when this crap goes on for as long as it has. The progression has been steady over the years, but at a snails pace. Or maybe not even that fast.

Please get it together, THR. Would be nice to have a desirable poker room for the masses in the Tampa area. When a dog track is running its room better than yours, you're losing the battle.
