Yes, there must be 8 players remaining after the transfer.

Omaha8, Limit Holdem, and 1/1 NL are going to remain 10 handed.

Scott,

Any truth to the rumor that the change to 9 handed is in part to accommodate nicer chairs?

I was told that they had some sample chairs they were looking at a few days ago. Fingers crossed.

Heard from a dealer that the new chairs were a sure thing; ETA around 2 weeks; also asked a few dealers and a supervisor if they had heard that you aren't supposed to allow transfers from a 9 handed table unless it was full, and no one had heard anything about that new rule.

Thats good news about the chairs. I have not noticed any change in the transfer policy, its business as usual.

No new rule. There must be 8 players remaining on the original table after the transfer, same as always.

Well I can tell you from extensive experience that no dealer or brush, if they know about that rule at all, enforces it. i routinely see people transfer that leaves tables 7 handed, and later in the mornibg, even 6 handed.

If there is already an existing rule, then you might look at reinforcing it at the shift meetings or however you dessiminate info to dealers and brushes, and perhaps reinforce who exactly is responsible for enforcing that rule. I have pointed out to a dealer that a guy getting up and walking over to another 2/5 table will leave us 7 handed and them 10 handed and he says it's not his responsibility and he can't tell the guy to come back.

So who makes the call as to whether a guy can transfr, the dealer or the brush. Or as often happens, if a player just gets up and walks to a more full table, what is the proper procedure to make him come back? Because right now most of the time nothing happens.

This is just not enforced at all, people just get up and leave at will, in fact I can't remember the last time I saw a dealer stop it. Playing the other night, we are 6 handed and this kid gets up and basically just circles the table and the immediate area for 20+ minutes waiting for ours to fill up or find another so he doesn't have to play 5 handed. The other big problem which I think has been mentioned here before is the unbalanced filling of the tables. He's within earshot of the table and 2 dealers said nothing at all.

On a side note, does anyone know if the UFC ppv fight will be on in the room tonight?

I took the rest of December off after playing for a gas card. Will there be any loyalty based promo's for January? That's a fancy way of just asking what the promo's are. :-D

My must-move 2/5PLO table got down to 6 handed and all 6 players wanted to play 5/10 PLO instead. I requested we change the game to 5/10PLO. Supervisor comes over and says he can't change it to 5/10 unless the main game agrees to also change to 5/10PLO OR if we all get up, break the must-move table, list ourselves for 5/10PLO and wait to be called....what the flying ****??????

needless to say the main game obviously doesn't want to change to 5/10 and everyone is apparently too lazy to go jump through all the hoops.

must move table was an all whale exclusive table too :l

Is it 9am to 5pm or 9am to 5am? If its 9am to 5am,that makes more sense.

I think it's worth noting that the room rep answering questions in such an indirect fashion does little to encourage faith that your attempts to fix the beleaguered room are sincere.

i think there were some postings by 2+2 mods who said that the rep is not allowed to extensively promote stuff... giving hints where to find information or answering concrete questions and confirming/denying information should be enough?!

As long as they don't do high hands, I'll be happy.

This is either a weird and terrible change in policy or a mistake by the supervisor. I would have asked another supervisor.

Considering the tone and nature of the question, I think it was a fine answer.

I have seen this happen dozens of times, and every single time, the dealer has called a supervisor to deal with it.
