Number sounds about right. I accounted for 2 of them. Busted early then lasted less than a round on my second bullet at the start of level 7.

Not a bad overlay.

They did have multiple tournaments running today. Could have been keeping them open for that.

I am playing both the 350 300k and a 550 500k. Both have starting days of Thursday, Friday, Saturday mornings and nights. Which days would you play. I am young and play a tight aggressive style. Which starting days would you recommend? I usually find play to be very nitty with the morning tournaments and looser on nights (especially Friday) But have not played many big buy in tournaments here.

For the 3500. Is it expected to be 5 days or is that a just in case reservation of extra days? Just curious in case i bink a ticket from one of hard rock hollywoods promos and it would require me taking muliple days off work. Also are tickets transferable and if so what is the process?

Tickets are not Transferable. If it does run the full five days,i would expect some of them to end up being short days. It will really depend on the size of the field.

IT will take all 5 days for the entire tournament. The 3rd day ends with 27, the 4th day ends with FT, and the last day plays until conclusion. If you go to the tournament schedule and look up the structure, you can find this info in small print.

Disagree, any flight would be good IMO. Over half the players will be terrible in the 300k and 500k.

Agreed, but the Saturday morning 150 crowd, although most a daily regs too, are by far the worst. Playing Saturday morning and Saturday night if need be. Excited to see what type of volume increase comes from the series.

Download the hotwire ap and search for hotels near the fairgrounds in Tampa, rooms are REALLY cheap ($45/night) for lots of great options (3 or 3.5 stars). Hotels shouldn't be an issue. Home wood suites near 301 was my personal favorite.

many improvements. Few issues, some of the dealers are beyond stupid and a floor person did not know what to do when the dealer burned/turn prematurely and provided the wrong ruling which made the hand cancelled.

Did the floor person rule the hand was cancelled (his bad ruling), or did he make some other ruling that was bad and someone else had to come and cancel the hand?

Haha, I take it this was my hand (T9, S1), unless they had the same mishap. They gave (divided) the chips back to the 3 remaining players. They didn't give me a chance to bet in position, even though I was just going to bet w/ squat after it was checked around.

The latter. The guy that gave the original bad ruling, walked over there with his shirt untucked and did not understand what was going on. Once the players explained it to him in the simplest possible way, he said to shuffled the turn card into the remaining decks and allow the player the chance to act and then turn a new card.

And the dealers, about 50% were good the other 50 were just flat out terrible. Would take around 1-1.5 minutes to just collect antes and figure out everyones change and when you have 30 minute levels it gets really difficult to get in more than 10 hands in a level.

A question about the tournament crew as I haven't been over to the tourney area. Are the dealers all from some traveling crew, or are there some of the regular THR dealers also dealing in the tourney? And what about the floors working the tourney? Regular THR supervisors or are they part of the tourney only crew as well?

traveling dealers, none from HR Tampa although some from other HR properties. supervisors from all locations including THR.

Played the $300k and event 2, the last couple days, bricked both but whatever; just to chime in on the dealers some were decent to okay but a good bit of them esp. Friday night were some of the worst I've ever seen, I spoke with one of the night Supervisors that I know about some of the issues I had and he was really receptive to my criticisms and even asked me to text him a list of some of the things I was seeing at the table; so with that being said it's pretty cool that the floor staff is willing to listen to the players and trying to improve on some of the issues that were going on (one exp. after break one of the breaks on Saturday, the dealer still wasn't done counting our chips (she had no clue) so the floor guy was helping so we finally got our first hand 7 minutes into the level) I hope they can correct them cause this is a really cool Florida series as an alternative to Vegas and great value at a great property. Hope to see y'all next weekend for the $500k.

A friend of mine min cashed in the 300k after putting in multiple bullets. He said when he went to receive his payout, the lady at the cage said to her coworker, "He didn't write a tip in for the dealers. Can you believe that?!" She then turned to him and said, "You know there's a line right here to write in a tip for the dealers." As she pointed to the payout slip.

I know there is a tipping containment thread on 2p2 so I am not going argue whether he should have tipped or not.

This action from the cage cashier is completely unacceptable. It is seriously irritating that these comments are tolerated with no recourse.

I played the 300. Some good, some bad.

Positives:

Tournament area was great. Nice to be close to the pool so you could step outside on breaks for some fresh air. Will be better if they would get rid of the few blackjack tables right next to it.

Dealers: As others have said, some bad some great. Usual mix in other words, but overall I think they were ok.

The abundance of clocks was also nice.

The one ginger waitress walking around. She was worth the price of admission by herself.

Structure was decent. Going to 40 minute levels on day 2 was nice. Not sure why they wanted to count our chips and report them after every break though. For web updates or security maybe?

Negatives/Suggestions:

Would someone please slap whatever genius decided to print the day 2 table assignments by table rather than by name (or even chip count)? (Also, maybe print up more than 25 copies of the list. Just a thought.)

They have to get the pay out procedure fixed (thinly veiled brag). You bust, get a card, and walk over to two guys sitting in front of computers that they can't operate or don't work, and then you wait. Finally they gave up after about 10 minutes and pulled out a sheet of paper and started writing us down by hand. Then someone shows up and says, "follow me" and 10 of us follow him (must have looked like we were on a school trip) about 17 miles to some cashier window where we are told to stand in another line in front of one window to get paid. After we stand there for about 5 minutes they say "You know, you can go to any window down there." Yes, we knew that, we just really like standing here with each other. Sheesh.

Let players back into the area sooner after the breaks. Once I tried to get back to my table at the 1 minute mark and a dealer told me they hadn't called us back yet. OK, I wait. They called us back in with 35 seconds until the start of the level. Who wants to bet whether you can re-seat 180 people in 35 seconds? The answer to that was no, and the clock was 2 minutes into the level before we actually got a shuffle in (after the announcement that "Dealers, you should be dealing by now").

Still, overall nothing horrendous, so I'd say a decent effort on their part.
