Just won a 55 dollar satellite, on the voucher it says i can go to step 2 or use the 160 towards another ticket e.g the main event. My question is, can i use this 160 dollars and buy 3 55 dollar satellite tickets? or does it HAVE to be used towards only ONE ticket?

It says "any WPT... Event". You can ask a supervisor, but I'm sure it does mean "event", and not "events". I can't imagine they'd redeem one voucher for multiple other vouchers. Just sell it for $110 and you can get two 55's out of it, if you're looking to go that route.

I guess you have one of those satellites that's in retrograde orbit.

question, Can player A use their own WPT dollars to buy player B a ticket to a satellite? Or are the wpt dollars only redeemable to the account holder aka no transfers?

Also lets say player A wins a 160 dollar voucher from the satellite, can he just sell the ticket for 100 or whatever and thats that? Or do you have to get management/supervisor to approve of the transfer first?

Also, do vouchers stack? i.e. i buy 10 160 dollar vouchers and use that to enter the main event or something?

- WPT dollars are not transferable.

- No approval needed for selling vouchers.

- Yes, you can combine vouchers when buying into the tourneys.

1/3 any tougher than 1/2? I would imagine its way way less fishy because of the higher buyin and the fact it isnt the lowest stake. But i'd like some imput from the hard rock veterans. and what about 2/5? 5/10? etc

I have only played 1/2 a few times when waiting for another table, but it is pretty hard to make any money at it, since there is not much money on the tables, and the players tend to be very tight nursing their stack for as long as they can. I/3 is a lot better IMO. 2/5 is fine also IMO.

But I don't think the table stakes are as important as the time of day or day of the week. I have found the weakest players on weekends or late evenings. When I say "weakest" that includes inexperienced players, and those with enough personal wealth that they don't mind losing some of their money. The best time I ever played was at about 5 AM on a Monday morning when the drug dealers and pimps (or at least they dressed and acted like it) were starting to fall asleep and pretty much gave their money away at a 2/5 table.

Yeah, It's one of the main reason i want to move away from 1/2 the 100 dollar buyin is pretty horse **** to be honest. That and the ******s who buyin for 40 and ship it blind pre flop every other hand. I can go on forever but i digress

1/3 is terrible. Never played 1/2. 2/5 is very often amazing.

Anyone actually beating 1/2 here over a few months? After revisiting THR this weekend I realize I dont think playing at the tracks is worth a $200 buy in.

Why would you complain about somebody shippng 20 bigs blind? Sounds like a pretty good spot to be in.

And by shoving they're preventing you from limping with your 2-x hands?

Yeah, I hate it when people compete against me blind, especially for money. Last week someone wanted to bet he could beat me in tennis with his eyes closed, but I refused. How can I react to his shots if even he doesn't know where they're going, right? I'd be at a huge disadvantage.

OK, no more beating up on danny. (Now that I got my jab in, of course! )

1/3, and fwiw I played a fair bit last August (2011), is rather tight. The people who have absolutely no idea what they are doing, all play the 1/2. The people who want to gamble play the 2/5. Sadly there are people who are rocks who play the 2/5 who just wait all day to beat the crazies.
But the people who aren't crazy, who have some clue what they are doing, who don't have enough money to play the 2/5 and therefore are tighter than you would hope for, play the 1/3.
If you play it and beat it, more power to you. Just my opinion. I have heard Derby 1/3 is better, with more tables. Hard rock has at most 2 tables, so transferring doesn't rate to be a tool at your disposal.

Don't listen to the hate Danny. Play your game, eventually the bad player will go broke and then you can start to dominate.

My two year results show -13/hr at 1/2 at hard rock. +48/hr at 2/5. Almost 1000hr sample.

1/2 its hard to beat the rake. Just practice short stacking 2/5 with a $200buyin

Wtf if you're a regular at 2-5 why would you ever encourage someone to shortstack the 2-5?

I find that more often than not they will limp call a raise with 20 BB, i.e. a few limpers, I raise in LP to $14, at least one limper who has a grand total of $42 now flats $14 (LOL), flop is a safe, dry board of Q73r, check to me, c-bet then limp caller ships, shows Q9s....lol.

Another typical recent 1-2 hand to illustrate how they think, raiser in MP makes it $12, women on my right flats the $12, I make it $49 in the CO with AsQs, original raiser calls the rest of his stack (he had $41 total, woman also calls leaving $45 behind). Flop is J73r, woman checks I c-bet $100, woman snap calls, she has AcJc, original raiser shows AdJd, lol. The original raiser says that he couldn't fold because it was a bad beat hand and woman concurs saying that she called for the same reason, couldn't fold big suited cards because of both bad beat and she might hit the royal payout!

It is what it is, they are really bad and you have to constantly remember they are playing nothing but their own hands. There is no thought process beyond level 1 thinking, if they have top pair no kicker or often times middle pair with no re draw they will call you down even if you raise big pre flop and bomb the pot on every street...you have to have a lot of patience, game is very, very beatable. Good luck!

BBJ is crushing Silks' business, at 2 p.m. on a holiday there are 31 live games at THR with literally 200 hundred waiting (although there may be some overlap on wait lists) and Silks has 2 tables open with 10 waiting...at least Derby Lane has 14 tables going (according to their website, they are not on Bravo).

It's likely +EV for someone to short stack 2/5 VS playing 1/2 at the rock. More people playing 2/5 is never a bad thing in my eyes. I still have an edge so I don't mind them
