Not at all. Within the past couple months 8 friends of mine have gotten jobs the first time they applied, 2 of which this was their first job ever.. this was after they filled those 400 new job openings apparently too.

Oh well thats good I suppose. I guess the other guy in this thread has 4 Class A felonies. Lol!

Nice avatar; in and out burger is phenomenal dude. Im not really into eating all that much. Im not a "foodie," but a cheeseburger and fries is my only weakness and theirs are UNREAL good. I always thought 5 Guys was an untouchable B&F but than I went to In and Out one day....whoa.

My nipples were rock solid the whole time I was there.

What WPT Hard Rock events? Nothing showing on WPT site for September in FL except for WPT regional at Jacksonville BestBet. Next WPT event at THR listed on the WPT site isn't until December.

Its not on the WPT website yet but its happening. Also from what I heard all the tournaments will be using the 10k ME structure you see for the next Hollywood HR WPT on the WPT website. With the $200 getting 10k chips and 30 min. blinds, and opening with $480 that gets 15k chips and 30 min. blinds.
Main will be $1500 with 20k chips and 40 min. blinds.

Alot less play(patience factor) than the last series for sure. But until we see it all in print we won't know for sure as far as the exact structures.

Thanks. As I understand it, the WPT itself has enforced a 20K max chips rule for all the regional events so that they are standardized. That's supposedly why the Derby events were different this time. The change came just after the last THR event.

First congrats Martin on choping the Derby main. Second, Ron thanks for keeping us in the know. I wish these rooms would figure out how to run these tournaments successfully. Tampa HR had an abysmal showing as did Derby. Hope they come with something a little more unique like they do in South Florida because I really want to play this series in September.

What do you guys think is the most profitable time to play at THR? Very curious to hear what your observations are...

Ive never gave it too much thought before, but I always thought the weekend nights were the best times. Like really late night when all the super drunk peeps start throwing chips around like they were Ritz crackers.

The only thing I hate about playing at that time: NOTHING worse than being surrounded by obnoxious drunks at a poker table when you're sober as a court judge. The only thing worse is going to Lowery Park Zoo for a nice wholesome afternoon and then the monkeys decide to throw poop at you.

Agreed.

Chip-tossing donkeys good. Poop-tossing monkeys bad.

Anyone confirm what I heard about the new beige/red tables? I was told management wasn't happy with them and they'll be going with the normal green felt instead. Just curious.

Well, considering they have now re-covered several tables in the newer style green felt with the betting circle expanded way too much, I'm guessing those are the ones they are going with now.

PS - kiosk finally up and running again.

I'm planning a trip to the St. Pete area in a couple of weeks and wanted to know if anyone plays in the 7:30 pm tournaments on Friday nights? They have a $560 buy-in and maybe the next week a $410 buy-in. I can't seem to get any info out the pit boss when I call. Just wanting to know if the structor is good, how many players usually buy in, how long the tourny runs, etc.? Thanks

The structure is decent.$400-15k+4k($10 add on). $550-17k+5k($10 add on). Both tournaments are 20k Guarantees. Some weeks there has been an overlay,2 weeks ago over 5k. With the WSOP winding down, that will probably end as some regular players have returned. Last week had 46 players on the $550. I have seen the $400 get over 60 players some weeks. Chopping seems to be common when getting down to a few players, but expect to be playing until at least 3 a.m.,if you make it to the final table.

Thanks for the information. Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by overlay?

There were not enough players entered to meet the guarantee,so the casino adds the extra money to the prize pool to bring it up to 20k.

Had a decent $6800 night last night at 2/5. Highlight of the night is getting 5bet pre all in for $1200 effective by older lady with a6hh when I had aces. Tells me when she leaves the table she knew she was going to have to get in a pot with me sooner or later.

Just moved to the area. Played some 1/2 last night and finished up $460, but the above post makes me want to vomit. Can't wait for the RNC to get here . I'm not properly rolled for 2/5, as poker is just a profitable hobby for me while grinding away at a $50k/year job with benefits, but I might take a couple shots then if the tables are that soft.

Sick night at 2-5 wow. I chopped the bounty tourney 3 ways for $1050, and collected 3 bounties ...and I thought I had a pretty good night

TClermont - just take a couple of $300 shots at 2-5 when you are running good at 1-2, there really is some horrible play for the amount of cash they have on the table.

That must have been some table. I've played the 2/5nl there almost fulltime since they started it and i dont remember anyone ever having a 7k stack. So people shouldnt flock to the THR thinking that winning 6800 is just a "decent" night

Edit: i've rarely even seen a 5 bet, since a 3bet means kk and 4bet means aa.
