Hello All. I've been reading this entire board for several weeks now and this is my first post. I'm from Orlando and have been to THR 6 times in the past year. I usually play 2/4 LHE and have done well. After reading this board I am heading out today to play 1/2 NL for the first time. Wish me luck and thanks again for all the great information you all share. Keep it up and GL!!!!!

Trip Report after my first time at THR.

Pretty decent room. I used to spend a lot of time at HHR before playing at the Isle more recently so I had an idea of what to expect. There was a pretty big variety of skill with the dealers. I'm surprised they don't have "A" and "B" strings because some were very good, and some were terrible (almost as bad as some of the bad ones at FoxWoods). I played two sessions of 2/5 one from about 2pm-7 the other from 8pm-12. Did well both times and nothing too crazy or weird happened to report. First session was a bunch of regulars that were pretty talkative and fun although they did talk two fish into leaving by making fun of them which I didn't understand. The second session was a mix of what seemed to be regs and a few rec players or new guys such as myself. More Asians than I'm used to in SF, I heard the term "chinglish" for the first time which made me kind of laugh. Players were pretty standard for 2/5 type game in Florida. I like places that have fun straddling rules and the straddle anywhere is good. Kinda surprised they don't allow a re-straddle.

No food on the floor was...shocking. I purposely didn't eat because I wanted a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich when I got there (assumed they would have the same menu as HHR) and was pretty disappointed. The drink girls were decent looking. Had a hot one during the second session. Massage girls weren't anything too great. They could use better uniforms.

Overall a decent room. Would go back.

I see they run a 1/2 and a 1/3. I hate seeing places that do this and feel bad for the guys that have to try to beat these games. Any talk of changing this?

I'm thinking they'll never get rid of the $1/2 and $1/3 combo. Too many on the lower and just enough for the upper.

Talked to a few dealers the other day...they said that they changed the "bag policy" post-WPT so that you can now have backpacks, etc. on the floor? Had three dealers confirm. Just an FYI for you guys.

Probably swing back by in the next day or two.

Plenty of talk of changing it...just no listening from those in charge, unfortunately

Omaha Bad Beat hit yesterday. Lady would not stop screaming for a straight 5 minutes.

The whole poker room got all new cards. Look nice. Stiff and slick too.

Yeah she's a dealer from derby. Really nice lady too, always happy, I'm sure even more so now.

Agreed. Her husband deals at Skc also. Couldn't have gone to a nicer couple.

Hey I'm going to HR the first week of the new year and I have a couple questions.

Which LHE tables are running the most lately?
And when are the LHE peak hours lately? (I know Fri-Sat obv)

Thanks

Plenty of talk. No action. I really wish they would ditch the 1/3 and change the 1/2 to something like a $60-200 BI. I think people would flock to this game, which would more than make up for the few grumpards who would not play because they can't BI for $40.

The only LHE games that run consistently are $2/4. From what I see there are several tables that run daily. Good luck.

Was back out there today. Table 15 for the early part of the day... swear I sat with some 2+2ers. I was in a Blue Lightning shirt, glasses.

Sat at 43 in the evening from about 8-1am.

Overall, broke even for the night. I bleed too much at various spots. Enjoyed myself though.

2/4 limit is like watching paint dry, play no limit, the speed of the 2/4 game will make you want to commit suicide, there isnt anyone sitting in that game under 45

Agreed. I wish there were bigger LHE games going though. The higher the limits, the faster the action. Hardly is there ever a decision where someone has to go into the tank. On the other hand, once per orbit some bozo hems and haws in a $1/2 game for 3 minutes about a 1/2 pot river bet.

So true. I used to pay the 30/60 at Bellagio fairly regularly a couple of years ago (TVB) and it was a great game. Fast, generally 4 or 5 tourists per table, and you could almost guaranty yourself $100/hr just with straightforward play. Low stress, fun, profitable. What else can you ask for.

If they would run even a 15/30 at HR I think it would take off. I'd certainly play it over another 10 hour session of 2/5 land-mine avoidance. Haven't been there in a while - what's the highest limit they have now?

In the whole state of FL I am not aware of any LHE game running at 5/10 or above. Except the game PX mentioned at derby which I am guessing has died off by now.

In all of Las Vegas, looking at the bravo app every room only has 2/4 LHE exept Bellagio probly has something higher.
So what in the world makes you think 15/30LHE would take off at Tampa HR?

The only place LHE still runs is northern Cali. I was out there about 9 months ago and The Oaks had 3 tables of 15/30 and one 30/60 that was the best table I sat at in a while. Side note, they also have the coolest chips (brass inlay, stamped with their logo)

I stand corrected. I haven't been up the northeast in forever. Anyone still know if the 75/150 stud games are still spread up that way?
