Has anyone done the Sunday Brunch? Looking at stopping in on my way to the Lightning game next Sunday and am wondering how long the wait will be to get in.

We have. 15 per person with players card. The Asian, seafood and Italian areas are the same. The area with the carving station has eggs Benedict, bacon and sausage, and a pancake/French toast area. The steak area has scrambled eggs where the vegetables are. You can also get champain or memosas. they also have an omelette station.

For 15 it's good value.... Opens at 10am, and I would get there early. By 1030/11 am there are about 60-75 on line and you'd be waiting at least 20-30 minutes.

Going down there tomorrow with a few hands. Leaving Gainesville around noon and going to leave HR around 2 unless we end up getting a hotel room.

I don't understand the point of taking the hands off the board when they are hit. Are they trying to protect themselves from crazy variance where quad 3's get hit a thousand times in an hour or something? That's not going to happen. All this will do is piss off the very few people who hit a high hand that is already gone, right? In the 900 hours or so that I've played at THR (not much, but enough, eh?) I believe I've had only FIVE high hands, one of which was a Royal. Maybe they should be hitting more?

Actually, not that I agree, but I've seen this in other rooms. I think Lucky's did something similar to this, but abandoned it soon after. I like what the Silks does on Friday's, where the first of any high hand wins 599 and any other time its 299. I forget if they are still doing it, I work fridays so I never play then.

It's funny but during the WPT we had Jack of Rock here at least partially active and since then nothing. Where as William Mason still very active for Hollywood AND takes into consideration what there clients want. Ron and I disagree, he likes cards and money earned for time.... I don't have the time to dedicate so promos like these are better (this one is meh, unless there really is a stud and Omaha separate board and I'm totally there). But if someone here really represented the room, this place could be the top place in Tampa.

Next months promo is by far the worst they have run yet. Besides this gas card promo (which is the best one) the last few promotions have not been good at all. The $1200 high hand was absurd since they let Omaha qualify for the same jackpot as Holdem. The week where they gave away Tshirts, hats, hoodies was Meh decent,I say they should keep doing what works----Gift card promotion. Doesn't just have to to be to shell, ger visa cards or master cards etc Attendance is outstanding and the games are pretty damn good. Where is jack of rock, hiding under a rock?

Anyone know if Omaha will be included in the same promo as the Holdem for the month of February

I could hit the same number of high hands I've had my entire life up until now (say quads five times) and still not equal a month of gas cards. :-O. I thought these promos would be awesome until the bad beat hit, and that they serve to sort of "cap" the BBJ until it's hit, then the promo's get crappy while the BBJ builds up....but I guess it's actually just random?

60% of every Jackpot $1 goes into the promo fund for promos they have each month and including the standard $500 royal flushes. I believe our comp $'s comes out of that promo fund also. Also the guaranteed tourneys that don't hit the guarantee, that money is taken from the promo fund.

The other 40% goes into the BBJ and back ups.

LOL It's hard to believe that THR and Hollywood HR are the run by the same company! it appears that Jack of Hiding under the Rock was only here to pump the WPT, anyone want to take a guess as to when he/she/they/it will return?

I don't play at THR as much as you guys do but I agree strongly with what I think was ParisRon's idea about the comps, at least you get something when they have gas card/gift card promos. High hands (when it doesn't involve 10 tables of Omaha hi/lo, lol) are good for bringing in people but it doesn't reward the regs. Why not take a page out of Hollywood's playbook and do both, i.e. cards for regs for certain amounts of hours (and for goodness sake make it monthly cumulative instead of weekly, i.e. if you play 80 hours a month Sundays - Thursdays instead of 20 hrs. week) and high hands to drive traffic? I understand that THR does not rake as much as Hollywood, but you would think the brain trust that runs THR could figure something out (or as someone said before probably not). The smart play would be to get rid of the BBJ, no one plays there for the BBJ and it brings in virtually no traffic as it is hit so infrequently but it is a huge tax on everyone that plays there! What a waste ...

See to me I'm less likely to play there for a gift card promo versus a jackpot promo I get paid for right away. I play 1-2 big sessions a month, and then mini sessions when I can get them in. Also the powers that be at THR think Sunday through Thursday we have this open availability... Which I definitely do not. So derby that does 100 for each high hand and 500 more for the top one of the hour makes me want to play there more.

HHR has the best of it all, but a 2$ jp drop hurts immediate rewards. But every hour of every day has a high hand possible. 250 cash for 80 hrs of play, 500 for 120 and 750 for 160. It seems to me that they get a lot more for just a dollar.

I know I'm in the minority on this issue, which is fine because I don't really seek promos, but if I find them and hit I'm happy. I hit 3 in 2011, 500 at derby, 1000 at derby and 1200 at THR. Probably played 125 or so cash sessions, so 3/125 is .024 or 2.4% of all sessions I bonus. Take it for what its worth.

They recently changed the structures a bit on their tournaments. All NL tournaments have antes now and they upped the starting stacks. I believe they are all Re-entry except the omaha h/l and the bounty.

$100($85+$15) 8000 chips $10 add on for 2000 extra. 20 min.
$120($100+$20) 9500 chips $10 add on for 2500 extra. 20 min.
$125($85+$15+$25 bounty) 9500 chips $10 add on for 2500 extra. 20 min.
$240($200+$40) 12,000 chips $10 add on for 3000 extra. 25 min.
$400($355+$45) 15,000 chips $10 add on for 4000 extra. 30 min.
$550($500+$50) 17,000 chips $10 add on for 5000 extra. 30 min.

Derby Lane still has much better/slower structures and significantly better juice ratio.

But its always been that way so at least this is a step in the right direction.

Actually the structure for tampa is now better imo. Although rake on some of those is still gross.

If you mean better structure because so many of the weaker players don't understand M and the effect of antes until it is sometimes too late for them to effectively shove any two paint, then I suppose that might be true.

Looking at them, derby and silks both are minimum 25 min blinds (except turbos) and antes don't start til 200/400 (but are also 25). They have a 600/1200 level which is nice. So on balance the tournaments are almost equal.... I think.

joansing- I just LOATHE the jump from 1/200 to 2/400/25. i think it's the worst thing in a tournament ever. I much prefer the 1/2/25 then 2/4/25 of THR's new structures.
Also noone in tampa except for 5ish people have decent push/call ranges
