Anyone think it's odd they say earn an MP3 player instead of an IPOD? I've always heard it's going to be an IPOD, but that just seems strange. MP3 player doesn't seem to carry the marketing panache of saying IPOD.

Just wondering.

How often does 5/10/20 NL run? Also, does the 10/25 NL game run?

Thanks, Ron. Forty bucks is quite steep, no? Especially if the blind structure makes it a luck-fest as some have indicated (never played one at THR). How much could I expect to sell this ticket for, do you think? It would suck to under-sell it to a lowballer, I'd be willing to sit on it for a bit and maybe even go crazy and play the tourney, lol.

Confirmed, Your Multi table tourney hours count toward the promo this month but you do not get comp dollars for food, etc. when playing the tourneys.
Also the $240 deepstack vouchers you get for 28 hours are good only for the rest of 2011 to be used on wednesday's only either 12:30pm or 7:30pm it rotates.

I take back whatever I said about $1/3 being almost as good as $1/2 games at the THR. Flop TP+, bet/bet/bet, and stack money. Yeah, you'll value-own yourself from time to time, but it is more than made up by getting called down light all the time. Simply amazing action tonight.

I guess I wasn't clear : the 1/3 games this weekend have been awful and the 1/2 games have been delightful. Plus a bit of run-good never hurts haha.

Im not sure but Seminole casinos had a contract with WPT for exclusivity and WPT broke that when they let Jacksonville in the mix and now they let derby in.
HR was going to change all their tourney chips to WPT style chips but now that WPT broke contract they canceled them.

The Jacksonville WPT is just $3500 main event, non telivised and Im guessing Derby will be the same but Derby's 1st series says 12 days of poker.
Tampa HR really doesn't have room right now to host but after the expansion they are working on maybe they will be ready to host next year.

You also have to think that the WPT wants more of these 'regional' events to drum up business for the bigger 10k buy-ins. I think they saw the model of the WSOP and said what a brilliant idea. Jacksonville from what I heard is going to have a 10k as well, not televised championship, but one they will do I think march or so. I think that is the exclusivity the Seminoles get is the only televised 10k in Florida.

Holy crap I can't believe I ever dismissed the $1/2 games. So much implied odds and ridiculously soft. I've taken the EddieOB challenge, have run $200 to $1250 since Sunday and am gonna take a 2 B/I shot at $2/5 two weekends from now. In the meantime, I'll be grinding $1/2 to make some excess profit.

I've taken shots at $2/5 before and I don't feel like I'm over my head. But I figure once I take my shot and (hopefully) profit, I'll go back, take another $200, and try to run that up at $1/2.

/shameless brag

Yes. Granted, I've been on the right side of variance these last few days, but tight, positionally-aware, aggressive ABC poker will reap rewards. Pound the fold-y nits. Don't bet into stations unless you're strong. NEVER slow-play. KISS.

Perfect example, two or three limpers, including "The Best Player in the Room", I check KJo in the BB. Flop comes KKJ (woo run-good!). I pot every street and win a sizable pot from "TBPITR". His response? "Man, I never put you on that hand. If I were you, I would've slow-played!" Asked why he didn't stack off when he turned broadway, "Don't wanna lose to a boat!". Yet had I slow-played, thus allowing him to slow-play his straight, I lose value. And he's called "TBPITR"! Imagine how bad everybody else in the room is!

Yeah the games are super soft, but you are running pretty damn hot imo. And lol at TBPITR...I've heard a few regs claim this about some other regs and the players they refer to as TBPITR's are unquestionably terrible huge nits.

Anyone know if they will be giving out actual iPods or gift cards to the Apple Store for this promo?
