No doubt, I'm running good, but anybody with some background can clean up long-term in the $1/2 game. If you're struggling to win there, well...

Re: "TBPITR" - this is a bad, losing nitty reg who declares himself (semi) jokingly as such. I guarantee you'd know who he is if I pointed him out to you.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder if he's 2+2. If he is....OOPS!

It is! I knew you'd figure it out quickly, Ron. A delight to have at the table - he's a really nice guy. And by no means is he the worst player in the room. But sometimes I'm left scratching my head after watching him in a hand. I mean, wow, that truly is an awful shove. Is he trying to rep quads or something?

Yuuuup...and no doubt anyone decent can clean up at 1/2, I have only played with about 2 or 3 remotely competent players in the last ~2 months. Everyone is either way too nitty, way too loose, or some weird hybrid of the two.

Seminole Hard Rock unveils details of casino expansion

"It also will add a five-story parking garage with more than 1,300 spaces. Visitors will step onto a moving walkway, similar to those found in airports, to speed up the long hike."

There goes my daily excercise!

I briefly played at DeeKay's table which was 19 but the hand he described happened before I got there.
I then went to I think table 24 but I left about 9:30pm. were you at table 24 before 9:30pm?

I was there for your 10's full hand. If I had known that you are The Parisron I would have said hello and thanks for all the great info you've posted in the Tampa poker threads.

I've taken shots at $2/5 before and I don't feel like I'm over my head. But I figure once I take my shot and (hopefully) profit, I'll go back, take another $200, and try to run that up at $1/2.

lol glad to hear you're running well and playing well. 2-5 has plenty of people that are astoundingly bad as well. Just keep your stop in place and rebuild at 1-2 when needed!

This works at 2/5 as well, here and at almost every other 2/5 game I've ever played. On Sunday I think I must have folded 12 hands in a row, then re-raise an UTG raiser 5x, and I still get 2 people to come along and call a c-bet on a 2-2-5 flop. I mean, what do they think I have?

Most players just don't pay enough attention. They came to gamble. Even after all these years, I'm still stunned at the number of people who play 75% or 80% of their hands. If you can make a game out of seeing how tight you can play when you're not getting cards, you can do ok.

Have patience and don't force it. Get a hand, push it, pray variance doesn't bite you in the ass, rinse and repeat.

The hand I described happened on Sunday I think. Unfortunately, I was not graced by the presence of 'TBPITR' yesterday haha.

Funny side note, I think I almost became a victim of a team scam. I was at 19 when a couple of bros sit down. They do this dance to see who takes seat 10 or 2 (I was in 9). At this point I had about $400 behind and covered the table. Finally, they find their seats and the 10 seat straddles in EP. I casually mention he doesn't need to post, but he mentions he wants to straddle. Cool, let's get the gambool going!

A few limpers including his buddy in the 2, he makes it $30 to go, and everybody folds. I jokingly say with a smile, 'Hey, I bet you didn't even look!". I really have no clue if he did or didn't. He replies, "yeah, you prolly saw my cards in the reflection off (your phone)". I laugh, and he says nothing. After a moment, it occurs to me, and I ask, "You're joking, right?". He replies he's 100% serious and wants a table change. I answer, "Don't worry, I'll do the table change, you just got here.". I then flag a brush over. To which he quickly says to the brush, "I want three seats at whatever table this guy (me) is going.". I rack up and start walking to the cage. In the time it takes me to get to the front of the room, it dawns on me that these knuckleheads are trying to sandwich unsuspecting $1/2 players. I get to the cage, cash out, and wave to 10 seat bro as I'm walking out of the room.

In hindsight, I might have been a tad paranoid, and I probably should have alerted a supervisor, but I wasn't sure if it was called for. And I wanted to avoid a confrontation at all costs. So, was I too over-the-top about this? Or do I have a right to have a funny feeling about the scenario?

I guarantee 99.9% of those who park in the far lot will STAND on the moving walkway versus walking.

Super necessary detail there

But I don't get it...what's the scam? I don't see what he did in that hand that was aided by his buddy at all...

haha, shameless brags abound!

I dunno, I may have been a tad paranoid, but my gut told me something didn't quite fit right. I didn't have any hard evidence, but it didn't pass the smell test. Which is why I just decided to leave and not cause a scene.

Like I said before, in my experience it has been super rare to encounter anyone at the 1/2 tables that can play competently, let alone cheat competently. If they were colluding, it would probably be to get people to fold when they have the nuts, so they don't get sucked out on

Good point. And had he not singled me out specifically as a target, I would have welcomed the gambool. At the same time, nothing wrong with booking a profit for the session, especially since before Sunday I had a 100 hour break-even streak.

Actually if I was going to try and team play/cheat, whatever, the lower limits would be the most ideal. People don't expect it, and most couldn't figure it out. I think you made a very very wise move... You would have found yourself having to fade a team play sooner or later. Their 'gambool' was, I think, designed to get you to come in light and try and stack you. I'd rather be paranoid and book a 2-300 profit, then stick around and take a hit.

THR is notorious for colusion. The old $225/$250 and $535 SNG's always had at least one team in each one.

The $400 behind is actually a necessary detail because you are deep enough where maybe collusion is worth it. With only 25-50BB, maybe you don't '"mind" as much.

Btw getting up for any reason is perfect. Even if you rationalize the "fact" you are being paranoid, it's still stuck in your mind and you won't play optimally.

Dumb example is: why did I stop playing at daytona beach kc back in the day? Cuz I had terrible sessions, bad play, bad luck, didn't matter what I attributed it to, whenever I went I felt "haunted", even though I know bad luck is never an excuse. So I'd go in, play scared, that turns into bad play, and the cycle repeats....so until Youre mentally strong enough to deal with "superstitions" or "paranoid feelings of collusion" no sweat in sitting a session out or stopping one!

Omaheehaw!

I will be in town this weekend and I will be creating a list for PLO on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I would be happy to play PLO at the 1-2, 2-5 or 5-10 levels. I hope some of you will come and join me and we can get a game going.

I am also willing to play PLO as part of a mixed game with NLHE.
