The state should just award the license as restricted: “table games only” since there’s already a slots only license in Plainville. Someone could take that and open a class casino with a large poker room and draw all the poker there. Run tournaments like Encore once did before they ruined everything.

If the problem is that poker players clogg parking spaces, why does the poker room close at 2 am? There's no parking problem at 2 AM.

I think the days of 24 hour poker in NE are gone for good. I know that several Foxwoods dealers told me they were think of closing for several hours overnight even before Covid.

One of the dealers this past week mentioned behind the scenes there was talk of possibly going back to 24 hours by the end of the year at Encore. Unclear if he meant 7 days a week, probably not.

The Encore would struggle to fill 6 tables after 1 am weekdays.

Massachusettsans go to sleep early.

Significant drop off around midnight. Unlike say a Mohegan where players have rooms and are sleeping over it seemed like the majority of evening Encore players left around then to go home before having to work in the morning. That was the vibe. Definitely not a weeknight overnight type of room.

The BEST times to play here used to be 1am-4am. Every bar in town had to be emptied out at 1am, and plenty of drunks then came straight here because it was the only place in town that could serve until 4am

The best part about this place is when you ask a legitimate question they talk to you like you’re an idiot.

“Why does the cage close for lunch at 12 to 12:30”

Floor goes “ people have to eat, what you expect them to do ? “ Haha

Yeh so does every casino in the world that doesn’t close for lunch.

My local CVS pharmacy used to also be closed for 30 minutes for lunch every day. Unsurprisingly, the entire place was woefully understaffed until it got shut down for good. Guessing Encore's excuse would be the usual "people just don't want to work anymore!" as well

They lowered the comp dollars from $1.00 to .60 cents like 2 weeks ago , a player asks the floor about the change and the floor gets all defensive and says it's still 10 cents better than Chasers. That's their benchmark? A shitty old ex chinese restaurant turned poker room in New Hampshire haha. I was told this was gonna be a 5 star world class resort. Funniest part is you play enough at Chasers you get .80 cents an hour anyway.
