I think they should change the 4/8 O8 game to 6/12. I notice they just changed the 3/6 LHE to 4/8 which is great
I'm not a fan of anything that will drive the low limit folks out of the room. I know most people here don't play these games but if the room doesn't protect the rec players, eventually there won't be any.

The PLO at Chasers is a good example. The degens pressed mgmnt to raise the buy-in, raise the blinds, round up the pot etc... The predictable results were lots of people going broke and all the rec types that used to play in the Hampton PLO game left and never came back.

That's true. We need the guys who will play and occupy seats and make the room look busier too. I really like the element of so many people who visit the establishment arriving at the top of the escalators and seeing the 2-2 PLO section and then the 1-3 NL section and saying how nice it is and how busy it is, etc... and it is their first time ever in a poker room.

I didn't mean to drive them out and raise it to a big level and I think having 4/8 vs 3/6 LHE is the first step. The 4/8 O8 game seems very jovial/fun and the players just want to play and experience/learn which is always nice.

I found 9/6 Job $5 but it does not work on those machines. It does work on the crappy 8/5 JOB.

$5 spins, i cashed out 403.50 out of the 500. That is similar to standard 20% slot machine hold. Not sure what 8/5 theoretical hold is and how bad I ran....

8/5 JOB has a theoretical EV of 0.973 so I think you ran a little bad, although obviously for this sample size the variance is more relevant than the EV and I don't know how to estimate that other than doing a bunch of simulations.

Btw I got the EV from https://wizardofodds.com/games/video...cks-or-better/

2 4/8 LHE tables going right now, so maybe 4/8 won't drive away rec LHE players.

Total noob question here, but how exactly do you table change? While I'm playing can I just let my dealer know that I want to switch tables, or do I need to call the floor over? Are there any rules/etiquette that I need to be aware of, or is it pretty straightforward?

The 9/6 JoB (also referred to as "full pay") machines require $20 coin-in per point, as opposed to $10/point for other VP machines (and $5/point for slots). It looks like the full pay machines are exempt from freeplay. I didn't seek out full pay machines when I churned mine out the other night but good to know I would've wasted my time.

Stand up, find a floor, say you want a table change. I’ve never had to wait

I see from your posting that you are Mlife Platinum. You were able to get $500 from that? It didn't require Noir?

Honestly? It's pretty damn awesome. I cannot quantify how much happier I am playing at Encore instead of Twin

Either stand up and physically walk to a floor, flag down a floor that is near the table, or ask the dealer to press the floor button and one will come over.

Once you've got the floor's attention, ask politely if you can change tables. They'll ask you if you want a specific table, or any table.

If you want a specific table AND there's currently an open seat on it, they'll let you just go immediately (Unless it's like, the time of night where tables are breaking left and right and they try to maintain balance).

If there's a specific table you want and there's no current open seats, they should go make a note in their system so it doesn't get filled by a random, but make sure you keep your eye on it if a seat does open up and just let a floor know you've been approved to table change if you don't see the same floor.

if you don't care what table you change to, he'll probably just tell you to look around and pick one, and then again just make sure you let him know what you pick and he'll let the dealer know it's all good.

This low rolling LHE prefers 4/8.

Would love a 4/8 to 10/20 mixed game.

Awesome thanks for noting all of that

As would I. I manage to get to the Mohegan Pink Chip Game a few times per year, since it only runs on Thursdays.

80% of weekdays, I enjoy being in the workforce. On Thursdays, I wish I were retired.

I make it there maybe a 2-3 times a year. Hoping to make it in September. Would be great to have something closer. I’m in sales so I have flexibility of schedule but no desire to drive almost 2 hours each way. Though depending on traffic the 40 minute drive to Encore may turnout to be two hours!

I don't blame you at all. I'm about the same distance from Mohegan as I am from Encore, and the ride is obviously not as problematic traffic wise.

If they ran a similar game at Twin River, that would be perfect for me, but the 5/10 rarely goes there, if ever.

Are you allowed to claim a match from each casino or just one? And if you are allowed multiple casinos can you claim them all at once?

Hah I wish. 1 only. That's why it's great to have this list, so you don't have to bring a bunch of cards with you, you can know ahead of time which one you'll do.

This. If I could have any game I wanted run regularly, it would be 8/16 mix.

Expansion plans

Quote:
Matt Maddox, the chief executive at parent company Wynn Resorts Ltd., discussed a host of ideas for how the gaming giant might use nearly 12 acres it has acquired across the street from the $2.6 billion resort hotel and casino in a once-desolate stretch of Everett on Route 99.
Quote:
“We’ve been approached by people that would like to think about putting an arena there for various events,” Maddox said.

Maddox said the company is evaluating various proposals, isn’t in a rush, but thinks a broader entertainment district will add to casino revenues over the long term.

It's been a while I read the thread, apologize if it was asked recently:
Any news on the poker run having tournaments in September?

I've heard different things from different dealers.

One dealer, from a month ago, said that they'll start running tournaments in September.

Another dealer, from a couple of weeks ago, mentioned that given how popular the poker room has been since opening, there's less of an incentive for them to run tournaments unless traffic starts to drop significantly in the coming months.

Yesterday another dealer said that his understanding is that tournaments are "likely" coming in September, but that they'll probably just be daily tournaments. He also mentioned that there was some concern that they didn't have the space for larger tournaments. Someone at the table wondered why they didn't use ballrooms in other parts of the casino for tournaments, and the dealer mentioned that the poker room would have to rent the ballrooms from Encore, and that the cost to do so is pretty high.

A floor told me on Friday that tournaments would be held in the ball room (I asked him where that was he described it as being on the opposite side of the building). I think this was right after someone else mentioned that the area currently marked as "Tournament Room" was going to be repurposed for more table games, but I can't recall if the floor commented on that or not.
