What's the typical wait time for a 2/5 spot if you're on the list somewhat early in the day? (say 10am'ish)

If you arrive in line at 9:45, you're almost guaranteed a seat, if you arrive at 10 maybe 2 hours. It varies a lot, seats will rarely open the first two hours (who shows up first thing in the morning to only play an hour? Almost no one, just people waiting to get transferred to PLO or 5/10). After that seats start getting called quickly although the list gets quite long after online registration opens up at 11 so that balances it out

Wish I could say I don't go because of those reasons but biggest reason is simply that I work standard office hours and sometimes later. However, if they should expand into weekends and late nights, I still doubt I'll go.

I stopped going when they went to $8 rake with promos before covid. So yes, I also refuse to play there or any of their properties. For a brief moment of time, god damn what a poker room. Action, comfort, good staff, etc.

I was sitting in traffic to drive 30 miles farther north to play at Chasers. Not anymore with gas prices lol. For now it’s just smaller stakes/more tables online.

I'm a tournament player mostly, so I have no interest right now. If they announced a big MTT tomorrow, I'd sure I'd be there regardless of their disdain for us and ridiculous rake, but since that's not going to happen, I guess I have a clear conscience.

It's faster mid-day to literally drive to Manchester, N.H. and play at Filotimo. You can get on the waitlist on PokerAtlas and by the time you show up probably have an immediate seat. The rake is half of Encore, too.

So in a few weeks I'll be going to Encore to play cash for the first time ever. I know the hours and rake suck but I just moved to Everett and decided to make a trip. I read the op but I didn't see where I get my chips. I'm a tournament player usually and have never played cash. Any info for a noob like me would be great.

Or life hack.... Bust out in the last half hour when everyone is chasing their losses and you don't have to go to the cage at all. Saves so much time.

They added a 13th table recently. I noticed that the demand is down though...the wait lists are much shorter than previously.

Also strong rumors (from multiple dealer's mouth) that they are expanding hours soon to 4am (10am-4am) but still only Monday-Thursday.

With that said.....the rake I am sure will still be left as-is.

Has anyone done the math on how much one is saving on rake per session at say Encore 1/3 vs BBC or Chasers 1/3?

Would be interested in seeing not only how that factors, but how much more it would cost in gas $ if it wasn't equidistant for someone choosing one of the NH rooms over Encore

I'm probably in the minority here that NH rooms aren't a true option no matter what the Encore rake is since I'm carless. It costs ~$20 for a RT bus ticket from downtown Boston, and ~$15 w/tip each way from the bus depot to Chasers or BBC. I play recreationally, so those don't matter too much to me in the grand scheme of things, but it's something to consider nevertheless.
