Just a quick question how long does it take for comp dollars to expire? I played once in July at the Borgata and it was only a ~90 minute session... looks like my 1.20 in comps earned was deducted from my balance instead of added?

Stan

Im thrilled to see Omaha is finally getting some tables. You think they will get the 5-10 or 10-20 Omaha H/L going on a Wed night?

I'll be there Aug 12th.

tks.

It's 6 months. The trick is if you are strictly a poker player and nothing else, please insert your borgata card into a slot machine at least once every visit. You don't have to play the machine. This will take care of those disappearing comps.

joey, if you play REGULARLY at 20-40+ how do you NOT know about the poker host???... all the regulars know her, she is excellent and does a phenomenal job.

Of all the casinos, there is a reason the Borgata leaves the competition in the dust.... They treat their poker players better then any other casino I have seen.... and mainly I am talking about Stan and his crew. If you really want to complain, go to the taj mahal and see who you can talk about a comped room.... i doubt you will ever get to speak with anyone.

the pre borgata days were pretty depressing imo.

long story short, count your blessings that the borgata exists and people like stan and mabel are so awesome.

does anyone know why this place is so busy today? end of recession? too many desperate people trying to make their rent money? or a special promotion going on? and i am not talking about the poker room...I know about the tourney, et. all, but the rest of the casino is packed beyond belief for a Sunday!

Although we appreciate the kind words, I think that we are just small part of the big machine.

Yes, we get the players in the room but what if the Shift Managers didn't do their job? But thank goodness we have the best talent in one building. We must have close to 200 years of poker experience just in the Shift Manager posistion. They all know how to run a room. Two of our original Shift Managers are now Directors of Poker Operations in other casinos. I am sure they will not be the last, we have lot of talented people here.

Now the people are in the poker room. The shifts are doing their job. Without the talented Floor Supervisors we would not be a top notch room. They work harder than any group in the poker room. Once again, very talented people with many years of experience.

Now it all comes down to the dealers. If the dealers can't deal, what a mess. Great rooms are made from the dealing crew. Now matter how well everyone else does, if the dealers are sub par, we will not be successfull.

I would love to mention Tab and his crew but he already has a big head

So, when you think of us, please think of all of us. It is a team effort. Thanks for playing with our team.

Stan

Is it worth it to get a Borgata rewards card (or whatever its called) if I am only going to play like 15 times a year, and I only play 1/2 NL?

Why not? It's free, and it's not much of a hassle to get one.

Do you like free stuff?

If you get a card, and check in and out when you play, you'll earn comp dollars and they'll track your play and give you free rooms or discounted room, plus you can use the comp dollars to use in the restaurants and elsewhere at Borgata. You only get half credit in the food court. So using the comp dollars at the Metropolitan, etc. is usually better. Or, if you stay at Borgata, you can use the comp dollars toward a room.

Plus, you have to have one to play tournaments.

It's a small sample size alert, but I've been disappointed with the 5/10 LHE game every time I've been to Borgata the last year or so. Often it runs for an hour or two and then fizzles back out, and I've seen it play more TAG than 10/20 which I don't quite want to play. Poker at this level is pretty dead in AC (and Vegas) so I guess I need a little more money so the 10/20 doesn't bother me.

Played in it Saturday evening from beginning until about 11pm. One or two marginal players and the rest seemed like either regulars waiting for 10/20 or 2+2 type young players. Only one or two soft spots.
