Even after I left the crap table I am still in the system because I've found out one time when I moved to the black jack table they could not log me in because I'm still logged in at the crap table. That's what i was told by pit boss until they over ride it. U can always buyin big and play the minimum, I also think the $ 1000 buyin at the crap table makes a different in my saturday comp.
Buy-in matters? It's not based on avg bet size?

Comps are back! Sunday-thurs for now. Maybe some Fridays will be back if I put in more hours, etc.

Is 2-5 still 500 max or have they bumped it to 1000? Thanks

The last few times that I've seen this question posted in this thread it has been answered that $2/$5 NL is still a $500 max buy in at Borgata.

Ok thanks. I used the " search this thread" but I guess I just didn't choose the right keywords. Thanks again.

2-5 is $500 buy in max and from what I've read they have no plans to change that as the opinion is that it is better for the longer term health of the game.

It would be nice to add a 5-5 $1k game to the mix for something between the $500 2-5 and the $2k 5-10.

They have 3-5 game that has a $1k cap. Doesn't run much.

Very few nits at all in my experience. Maybe one or two per table usually? This may be less true on mon tues kinda slow times and whatever but they always have lots of 1/2 games going.

Assuming i am a skilled player...and want to grind a 10k roll at 1-2nl (i know i'm super rolled, don't care..i'm not going broke again..) Is the borgotta an ideal card room?

Around the clock action? Full of loose, soft players? Whats it like?
If you have a 10k roll, why are you not taking shots at 2/5?

There are no more nits at 1/2 then there are at 2/5. If you table select you can find good games anytime day or night. You have a better chance of good games on weekend then during early part of week. Also if there is a tourney series going then games are good any day of the week.

I do go to charlestown, WV on most sat. on a weekly basis. if u want action, come to chuck and find me (the guy with blue hat with the dragon logo on it). I use to play 2/5 but can't call every hand and that's no fun for me. I like play a lot of hands and one example when I was at the borg last week, I called $25 preflop holding 7d9d out of position. The flop came 2d8d10s and the raiser with QcQs bet $ 75 and I called, and the turn 2c, the raiser shoved all in $ 250 and I showed him my cards and decided to call after thinking for a few minutes, the river was a Js and I took down the pot with the straight. The whole table was shocked that I made the call.
I believe that this post shows that the games at Borgata are good, many players make bad plays, and even like to brag about the bad plays they make!

so Borgata's rule on being able to call out raise is before.... or.... any time after your arm crosses the line with chips, as long as you are still cutting chips out. You can cut chips out as slow as you want in stacks of 1 if you choose and call out raise as you are cutting the last stack out.

got two floor rulings on it.

how funny is that!

what do you folks think about a more equitable distribution of the bbjp? By this I mean things like cracked aces, free-rolls, and perhaps paying off the room when the bbjp hits.

a few examples are in order:

Showboat was dead before they started things like 'cracked aces' and other promotions, like getting a free buffet after less than one hour of play this summer. paying off the whole room when the bbjp hits will ensure the room gets more action at 6am when the bbjp is high and hopefully it will be possible to get a timely cup of coffee...

one important point to note in this discussion is that the Borgata pays back all the bbjp funds to actual bbjp winners, which is admirable. However, I am in favor of a more equitable distribution of the bbjp funds, through promotions like cracked aces...what do you think?

I feel like small promotions such as freerolls and cracked aces are a much bigger incentive to the 1/2 player than the 5/10 player (and his/or her limit equivalent).

What will end up happening is that the higher stakes players will pay into these promotions and see the smallest gains in the form of new players who come in to chase promotions.

you are right, that the promotion is more attractive to the players who make up the majority of the players! I think some of the higher stakes games opt out of these promotions.

re: new players who come in to chase promotions.

kind of the point to bring in new players and old players attracted by such promotions to keep the room busy in the cold months to come!

cracked aces promotion is really bad for NLHE players.

what if you made a specific hand, say a full house, and received an additional $100 cash as part of a winter promotion, that would not be so bad would it? And wouldn't that be a sufficient inducement for you to continue to play cards, rather than drive back home on a Sunday night to shovel snow out of the driveway?

Don't pay off the room when the bbjp hits. Delaware Park just ended that but I had been there a couple of times when it hit and even with that much smaller room it basically shut down for an hour + to pay out the $60 or so dollars.

tough crowd, I think every one agrees bonus comp dollars are good, why not throw some of the BBJP funds out to those who play X number of hours in bbjp eligible games within a specified time frame? that would be a draw for me as the food at Borgata is an excellent way to use comps! (and others might not mind using comps for room charges)

you will not find the promotion listed, see:

http://www.theborgata.com/play/borga...ker-promotions

I am suggesting (a) that I would like it to be listed every time I look, and (b) that I would like more of the bbjp funds to be distributed in this manner to players who contribute to the bbjp.

let me preface this: this is in no way a slap in the face to the dealers, just a method that i think is better for overall customer service, something that the rest of the poker room meets with very high marks.

i think there should be a seperate line for the dealers re: cashing out. so many times on friday/saturday(esp. later at night) they'll be a line for the cage a mile deep with one (maybe two) cashiers for the whole room, and, imo, the staff shouldnt come before the customer, which is why i think there should be a seperate line just for them and them only.i know that theyre working and they wanna get outta there quickly, as well, but, the customer should come first as long as they are on the premises. keep in mind that by having seperate lines, i think that everyone will get out of there much faster. this past saturday night it took me almost 30 minutes to cash out...that is totally ridiculous; theres not enough cashiers and there were at least ten dealers in front of me. everyone, not just me, was complaining about it.

if it took you almost 30 minutes to cash out you are waiting at the wrong cage. Walk out of the poker room, take a left, a right towards the Amphora lounge then a left to the main cage, the wait there is never more than a minute or two. walk a minute and a half and save twenty five minutes...
