I haven't applied for one yet, but I asked at the poker room cage and they told me I would not be able to obtain markers in the poker room, but I could go to the main cage or to a regular table to get a marker and chips.
I wasn't talking about credit, rather using my own money to play with and just have them hold it for me.

no problem, I believe you should be able to set up an account with the cage, you should just call the Borgota and ask

That is what I was recommending:

What happens after that - end of busy season (summer) or something else?

Yes, once the summer ends, and after the WPT, the games dry up. Until the fall open series. That being said, the 1/2 nl and 2/5nl games are never truly awful, they just get a little nittier

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm planning on driving up for Labor Day weekend, staying Fri - Mon. This will be my first trip to AC and I don't know any good places to stay. Anyone have any recommendations?

Try Comfort Inn and Suites on rt 30 (I've heard $55 a night and clean rooms).

Normally that may be true but not this weekend. $450 + tax for the 3 nights. Not going to find anything cheap this weekend.

Stan,

Please either fix the run-it-twice rules; or get rid of it. I felt like I was playing in planet Mars when I ran it twice pre this weekend.

Uh, care to give some details of how you think it was non-standard and/or problematic?

I played a little 2/5 PLO on Sunday and the dealer was very confused on how to run it twice preflop. He ran the 1st full board and then started to run just the turn and river for the 2nd run. I was pretty amused.

That is all we are allowed to do right now. Working on the rest with the state.

Stan
The dealer ended up running 2 full boards anyway. But now I see why he was doing that.

It's been too long, Stan. I'll have to come say hi next time I'm in. Can't wait for Michigan v Alabama Saturday. I'm going to be in Germany, so going to try to find a location that will display the inevitable Bama beatdown.

obv im not a high roller (poker equivalent of 40-80 limit or 10-25 NL) but id consider myself playing for considerably more than the casual player

Thanks for any info

obv will stay loyal to the borg even if its not for poker all due to stans great work here helping me out all these years
**Update **

Drove down yesterday in the worst rain I have ever driven in. Traffic was going 30-40 MPH with everyone in middle lane with hazards flashing. Most people would be detered by such detrimental conditions but not us gentlemen, nay the gambler presses on!! Eventually it cleared up by around exit 68(9?) on the GSP and all in all it only took 3 1/2 hours after all that delay. I had to goto the bathroom the whole ride but I held it in because getting out of the car to goto highway reststop was literally not doable due to the rain. It was THAT bad.
Well it was worth it because finally the borgata was in sight! I say in sight because the line for the valet was about 20 cars deep so it stayed in sight for quite a while. Why a wait on a monday afternoon? who knows. After all my Bravado about going to play blackjack I still strolled into the poker room, said hi to mabel and asked if anyone wants to play 40-80 or 60-120 limit. No takers so it was off to fulfill my purpose and I boldly strolled into the high limit blackjack room.

Cashed in for $6k and left with a tad over $15k in just a few hours. Was probably the most fun I had at the borgata in a long time. The dealers were friendly and the players not as grumpy as you find in the poker room. In fact the atmosphere was really pleasant.

Wanted to keep playing seeing as how I drove for longer than I played but I knew my winning was a fluke.. a fun fluke so I cashed in and left. Was an absolute blast.

Earned over 320 comp dollars for the afternoon which is about 6 months worth of poker which was also a nice perk.

The borgata really is THE casino for poker and now blackjack for me and has my business for life.

Just had my best session of my life at the Borg yday, cashed out a little less than 5 grand at the 2/5, one of the floor people told me there were 15 people (presumably the 2/5, 5/10 regs) on the waitlist to transfer to the table...I'm certainly no pro, but I can say it was a helluva soft game. It also didn't hurt that I was running like a sicko.

It was tons of fun though and I highly endorse their poker room

Awesome day, congrats on the impressive score

Looking forward to the upcoming series even though I may not make it down for anything. Been pretty sick for the past two months and really missing Borgata...hopefully all the fish come out for you guys over Labor day weekend

Does anyone roughly how many hours of poker you need to have played at Borgata to qualify for the poker room rate? Just curious

THERE IS NO POKER ROOM RATE!!!
As I and others have posted many, many times before. Can't people just read the thread they are posting in?

Borgata is the fastest place to generate you offers. Everybody has a rate depending on your play and it goes up and down depending on your activity. The more you play, the lower your rate. Beyond rates, significant play may generate comped room offers, these offers get significantly better if you play 2-5 NL and 10-20 and bigger games. There is no poker rate per se, everyone is rated based on the time they put in and the games they play.
