I am a fairly "astute" dealer and I always announce loudly with gestures when there is an all-in and a call and make sure both players and the table hears me say this before I run out the board and/or ask to see cards at showdown. If players have piles of chips in front of them, this process can take a minute or two that is unnecessary since one player will either win it all or a chop will happen.

I have had absolutely zero problems with this.

Verbal is binding in every poker room. If a player verbally says all-in or verbally calls an all-in, I don't know of a poker room anywhere that it is not binding. Different rooms have different rules in dealing with players who do not relinquish chips when they have to up to and including arrest.

I have seen a couple of instances (none while I was dealing) with players who refused to relinquish chips when the dealer said they should. I can see situations where the dealer did not communicate the action very well, or maybe there actually is some legitimate doubt as to what the action was where a player wouldn't have to put money in, but that's not what was being discussed here unless someone claimed that the verbal action didn't actually happen.

At the 7P.M. re-entry bounty tourney tonight... When do they end the re-entry time? I looked on Borgata's site and didn't see anything

If you see the tourney list on the site, click "more" on the right side of the tourney (it's in dark pink/light purple). That will bring up a PDF of the starting stack, blind levels, blind length and indicate the end of entry/re-entry

Hi everybody

my 34yo and beautifull wife is going to Boragata for the Double Play 100K G bounty on Sat 12th of Aug.

I'm usually going with her and support. We stay at showboat ( best $/room I think )
Thing is this time I can t join her. And I'll be too worried if she has to go back to the boardwalk at 2 am everynight, granted she final table that trney ( which she will !!! )

That' why I'm asking you guys: is there any rebate/better price per room at Borgata if she plays a $450+50+100 Trney? ( + side games )

thanks for your time, and good luck at the table.

I love playing at the Borgata... But I have to ask what's with the downward curve on the felt of the tables where you stack your chips? Makes it feel like a high tower of chips may topple over easily lol

1) The "shuttle bus" is the Jitney. The Jitney drops you off right in front of the Showboat on Atlantic Ave. This is not at the boardwalk, and is about 15 steps to get inside the casino. I do not see a problem or reason for concern.

2) if this is not good enough for you, you can give her like $18 for a taxi which will drop her off on casino property.

3) In general, if you want a hotel room, you should probably talk to Stan. I just dont see your concern as making much sense.

Any ETA on when the sctructures for the WPT series will be posted? I know the schedule is out already but the "Details" link next to each one just links to another schedule page, and I want to plan my series around the structures whenever they are available.

Thank you very much for the explainations.
I understand it could sound weird. I guess I worry too much.
(Tho last time I took the jitney at 3am, I sat between an amazingly drunk ******* and a 1/2 naked weird woman who though I was going to marry her )

Again , thanks for your time.

I would just have her take a cab-just for the time savings over waiting for the jitney, esp late at night, plus the comfort factor...and door to door-

In the past, Stan has said that he prefers being emailed at StanStrickland@TheBorgata.com rather than being PM'd.

Well ok, that I can understand. I have certainly run into my fair share of weirdos on the jitney, and ive only taken it during the day :P.

Its kind of the nature of the beast that is public transportation. Sounds like the cab is the best option. 20 bucks is a small sum to not worry, especially if she is going to ship the tourney.

I think a cab is $11 or 14 max fare within the city. Somehow it seems every cab ride hits the max but, if it's $15 bucks door to door vs $3 on the jitney and a potential issue? easy choice.

Cab fare within Atlantic City maxes out at $13.

I would treat it as a fold by player 2 because he threw his cards over the line and did not put the last bet into the pot. I realize that isn't perfect, but I think if you rule it a call, you have to ship player 2 the pot, because he saw a showdown and is the only player with a live hand.

I don't know how you could force player 2 to put more money into the pot and give the pot to player 1 without him (or anyone) even seeing player 1's hand! It seems to me that the person who did something wrong was player 1 (and of course, the dealer), not player 2. I would sure have had a fit about that if I were player 2.
