If the max buy in for 2/5 isn't going to get raised to $1000, at least up the min buy in to $200.

I play 2/5 and usually put my empty rack on the chair behind me in the space between where you sit and the backing. I've actually had floorpeople pull a rack out from under me while I'm sitting in the chair.

I understand that you want the place to look professional and not have 15 racks on the floor under each table, but it's a huge pain in the butt to have to go to the cage and stand in line in order to get racks then go back to the table, fill them up and go stand in line again to cash out. If you really feel the need to get them off of each game, can you at least have a box full of them at each podium so we don't have to wait in line twice in order to cash out?
You can get racks at the high limit podium. They're neatly sitting there with no line.

+1. Stan has said in the past he'd probably be willing to do this.

You don't understand what he's saying.

That's right, because it makes no sense. You want to try explaining it? Why do you bother to write that without offering an explanation?

he's saying it sucks when you're playing a hand vs a big stack and a shortie and the shortie jams his 20bb in the middle, basically.

All this talk of straddles and buyins is misplaced. Our lobbying efforts should focus on that which is truly important. To wit, when will Stan bring back the yellow decks?

Stan/Tab: just as an experiment, would you consider running a super duper turbo tourney on a Sat/Sunday, 3K in chips, 10-15 minute levels... small buy-in (let's say $100+20) that can finish up in 4-5 hours? by the time it's 3 or 4PM, we have a winner! small buy-in, relatively small 1st place win, but considerably less time to spend in a tourney? I bet you get 100+ players, even though it's a crap shoot.. some will complain of structure, but it is designed to be a super turbo, finishing in considerably less time than other tourneys...1st gets 2-2.5K, but only has to spend 4-5 hours doing it.

when it comes to help starting a mixed game, Stan is extremely accomodating regardless of the limit that the players want to play.

fwiw, i think a H.O.E game would be great because it reunites the mixed game players with the holdem players again (like it once did when we first started the mixed game as a H.O.R.S.E game) therefore, you're going to get a much bigger field to play against, and, well, i'll just leave it at that.

Just thought I'd mention that last Friday night there was a pink chip (7.50/15) HOE game.
I played it for awhile, but personally I prefer more games in the mix.

I agree that the mixed game players should be doing more to try to get the holdem players to cross over. If we're constantly playing BOTEQ, the holdem players just want nothing to do with our game. It's an intimidating mix for someone who has limited non-holdem experience.

I think stripping down some games and adding holdem to the 40 game is something that should happen in the near future, especially considering the spottiness of how often the mix has run in 2012. HOE is a good idea, but I think a draw game should be in there as well. I personally far prefer badugi to triple draw, but triple draw is the much simpler and newbie-friendly game. Running the 40 as HOTE, we might see an uptick in players. Food for thought.

I don't have the roll for 40 but would definitely play a 20 HOTE

Stan,

It's great that Borgata is offering more to its players, with the upgraded poker room, room offers, comps, freerolls and all that. But there is still an important issue being overlooked or ignored, and it's essential to the continued satisfaction of the players and the success of the room.

It's high time that a definitive, comprehensive rule book, covering each and every situation and circumstance, is written and adhered to strictly by all dealers, floor people and shift managers. Too often a situation arises where a decision is made off the cuff and without any logical reasoning, sometimes directly contrary to what is explicitly written in the current rule book. No logical explanation is ever offered. Depending on the time of day or night and who is flooring (or shift manager), diametrically opposed rulings may be issued, in direct contrast of what someone else in charge might rule 12 hours later. It's extremely unfair and frustrating to players. When asked for an explanation behind a ruling, different people will give different answers, and will ultimately direct all questions to Stan. Hence this appeal to Stan.

It's very easy to reconcile and unify all rules and educate all those with authority to make rulings. The quality of the room will be greatly increased.

I have never played a live tourney and would play this in a heartbeat. The main reason I don't play live tourneys is I have no desire to grind 8 hours for a bubble. This format would allow me to play and maybe grind some cash if it doesn't go well. Plus I love super turbos.

i dont think you need to go that far. Just reduce chips to 7500, levels of 20 mins, and first level is 50/100 blinds.

Stan, perhaps you can change the Sit-n-Gos to two tables? that would amount to a 90-120 min tourney.

Does the borgata run SNGs? Is it just something you have to draw up interest for?

Coming tonight for some time away from work. Time to relax in a Borgata bed. Also, obviously some poker.

Massages are damn expensive ($150 for 50 min / $300 for 100 min). And that's just a swedish. I might do a haircut and signature shave. Anyone try this before?

Can't wait. BBJP one time!

Pay enough rake + tips and I'm sure any NJCCC-approved game/structure is possible!
