This. Same here. Stan, what is with the changes given similar/consistent play?

Also, is there a Saturday night poker rate beyond what is showing up on the calendar (which is almost $300/night)?

I had really been hoping to move my play over from Harrahs to Borgata, since Borgata seemed to be increasing comps while Harrahs has been taking them away, but this is complicating things.
The comp offers will change daily. The further out you book the better. The offers you see for Sept today may not be available at the end of July. As the hotel starts to fill up, the rates may increase. Just like an airplane, as the plane fills up the tickets get more expensive. The systen that we are using now wll give more players the opportunity to get comp rooms. You just need to book sooner.

Best advice I can give is to book what you see ASAP. I'm gonna end up biting the bullet on the room for not doing it when the offers first hit.

Put in a short session on Friday. Was nice to finally be back in the room. Traffic seemed slightly lower than I expected for a weekend but it seemed to be picking up as I left. Big fan of the new bravo system. Table chatter of the day seemed to be the ruling of dealers being able to play and the new casino being finished. Hoping to be back before July but if not will be there the 14th for the girlfriends birthday and some grinding. Always a good time at the B though. Dealers seemed much more personable and chatty this time as well.
Why wait to book the room? The good news is that at one time it was comped.

That is correct. No more poker rates. You earn rates and comps just as a table or slots player. The sooner you book the better.

I just booked comp rooms for each of first three weeks in September. Of course, I will probably end up cancelling most of them, because I have no idea when I will be able to play this far in advance. This seems like kind of a bad system, since I am now using up space allotted to comp rooms for poker players that I will probably never actually use, but still preventing other people who could actually use these rooms from booking them. But it sounds like I have no choice.

PM me if you need anything prior to September. Once you get some play under your belt, you will not have to book so far in advance. We have players that can book a weekend room the same day they plan on staying because they are regulars. You might be able to do the same very soon with some play.

The difference between this and an airplane filling up is that people dont indiscriminately buy airplane tickets every week that they will probably never use. The system encourages people to just make as many reservations as possible as soon as they can, whether or not they actually intend to visit the casino....from my experience there in no penalty in cancelling a comped reservation.

Do you play every week? Month? I would assume that you would have some idea as to when you would be available to play. Once the summer season has ended I would assume that the offer changes would not be as drastic as they are now.

This was when the thread first mentioned the new comps. I hadn't put in for the time off for work so I wasn't sure of the date or I would have booked it. I also had zero experience when comped rooms so I didn't know what the situation was with cancelling. Anyway I can PM you and possibly rectify it? I wasn't trying to come off as complaining just was letting Nick know he wasn't alone in this.

Like I said, I totally understand I should of done it ASAP but didn't know at the time they would change daily or any of the other factors with the system. I very much enjoy the new offers and the bravo stuff.

Earning the black card is the key, but keeping your borgata account active is more important. As you start putting in some hours and play, you will see your offers increase. If you are on the fringe, Mabel and Stan are very accommodating and can help you out.

I used to have very weak promotions too, even when I was a black card. Sporadic weekdays, weekends were out the question, i was lucky if I could get a Thursday. After putting in some hours, I qualify via web for all days in green (comp), including the occasional Saturdays.

Like Stan said, booking in advance is the key and the airline reference is exactly what it is. Just remember to cancel 24hours in advance to avoid the $50 penalty. Customer Care and Reservations Department are very strict on this Remember, summer is the time when alot of people come to Borgata as a resort and destination, not just for poker, but for family trips, going to shore and boardwalk, etc. Book in advance. Like the Borgata sign on the AC expressway, "it's not too late to change your mind".

Is the comps geared towards cash players ? anything for tourney players ? I come mostly to play tournaments and when i bust out play cash - but i see comps for my cash play only.

Stan, great job with the new promotions. I have had a black card from playing poker for a few years and rarely could ever get rooms comped even weekdays during the winter. This weekend I got friday and saturday fully comped at the water club, and it appears I can get every weekend for the rest of the summer as well. The games may be a little tougher than most other popular spots but this is the reason why I never bother going anywhere else especially when parks/chester are only a few mins further for me to drive. Two and a half days spent in the casino and I paid nothing for room, parking or food and even the room taxes were comped! Hope this doesn't change, it seems too good to be true!

One other quirk about the comp room deal.

I've booked rooms through end of August. I get 3 rooms a week, so I usually see plenty of green.

At least I did until last Wednesday. After changing around some reservations, my all-green September went to all $59 and up. My July and August greens also went blue (i.e. not comp.) It was like I lost all my free room offers.

But now all the green days are back again.

There may be some sort of 30 days of reservations cap in the system. I counted my yellow days after my calendar went blue and it added up to 30 yellow days. But then after using a two-night reservation this past weekend (putting me at 28 yellow days,) my green days came back.

On a different note, a dealer mentioned that the tables were going to switch to a new betting line that is much smaller on the ends. I can see some advantages to that, especially when it comes to pulling in bets from the end seats. I was just curious where this idea came from. In-house dealer or management or player suggestion? Copying from another room? etc.

Some players earn one day a week comp, some two, so once you make a reservation for two days that week all of the other days automatically change to a rate instead of comp.

Same thing here but it changes often. I was planning on staying at the Borgata tonight and had a $59 room rate since Friday. I didn't make up my mind until about 9:30pm last night and decided to book when to my surprise it showed up COMP.

It was the only COMP day from now until mid September on the calendars. I guess when you try to book last minute if the hotel isn't very full they will make comps available.
