Cases in point: in one hand, 2 players had raised pot before he attempted to isolate by repotting pre to over $150. His hand? J642 rainbow. I am not kidding. He proceeded to catch 2 jacks on the flop.

In another hand, he raised a limped pot to $10 from the cutoff. The small blind, who had only $40, reraised to $20. I look down at AdAc5d5c in the big blind and repot to $98. Maniac of course calls. Flop comes 742 rainbow. i shove for my remaining $200. He tanks, then calls. His hand? QQ94 rainbow. He then hits 2 of his 4 outs for a boat. Aaaaargh.

There was, IMO, only one other good player at the table at that point. I hope he was finally able to stack that monkey...
Why did you even let it get to that point? I would've called the floor after the J642 hand. The guy is obviously playing so poorly that it's making the rest of the table miserable.

Lmao at everyone's reaction. It is not like Pixel tapped the tank at the table. The fish is probably not going to play PLO at Borgata again, so I'd rather have the idiot who stole all my money get crushed as well.

I have a quick question about the Borgata. Not really poker related and I apologize for that but I don't know who else to ask. Are you allowed to take beverage coolers with you to your room at the Borgata?

I don't think they're allowed, and if they are, they don't allow alcohol.

Thanks. I know I've taken up a bottle of Captain Morgan and Jameson to the room before just not an entire cooler. Thanks again.

Please don't give up that easily. A case of beer and bottles can easily be hidden in your bag....just put the case in the tub and fill the case with ice.

I've been at 5 or 6 bach parties in AC (3 at the borg) and we have had beer/liquor in the room(s) at each and every one.

Hi Stan,
I have a question. I just called the borgata and tried to book a room for this Saturday 7/31 and Sunday 8/1 at the poker rate. I was told that I do not have the invitation for the poker rate listed on my card. I normally play 5-10 NL and have played the $500 deep stack at the last three series held. Also, I had the poker rate on my last trip in June so I a little confused as to why I no longer have it. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

his reply will probably be "No Problem, PM me your name, card number and I'll see what I can do." -- so incase you won't be around next few days that's where i'd start. Stan has always been helpful in sorting these things out.

Last time I was there for the summer open, I literally had a Bright red cooler on top of my roll-a-way suitcase...Didn't receive one comment from any employee, security or Front desk while checking in.

I then loaded up the mini fridge in our room with cheap beer.

I have no idea how you managed that, but then I again I've never seen(or looked for) an explicit sign banning BYOB at Borgata like I have at Harrah's(I only looked since I was staying there) but I have to assume you are not allowed. I usually just load up my bag up with alcohol when staying overnight like most people I guess.

I have not driven straight down from central NJ yet. I may try it just to see how much tolls are. I have found a way to only pay 1.1 to get back to South NJ with the 7.5 in tolls to and from AC. Yikes, tolls are expensive.

I case you don't receive a timely response, Stan is on vacation. He'll probably catch up when he can though.

sorry if this has been answered/discussed already (thread is way too massive to try to find) but I was wondering if anyone knew off hand what kind of hourly 5/10nl full time grinders typically can expect in the borg 5/10nl. Just interested in comparing it to other casinos around the country. Obviously depends on player, just wondering what kinda range.

.
You are allowed to bring a 6 pack per person up to your room. Put the rest in your luggage

I assume that's sarcasm. His play made everyone salivate. His personality made everyone miserable.

Thanks acdawg. Having played together before, I know you know I'm not the type to needle, chastise or otherwise make things unpleasant for the donators (or anyone else for that matter). And you're right BTW, this guy was in the room on a trip with friends and will probably not be seen again for some time if at all.

My original post was not a "I can't believe this mouth-breather got lucky against me" post, I was simply venting my frustration at not having the opportunity to reload and play on against the live one. Figured others might commiserate. Live and learn...

The problem with the 5-10 game is that pretty much all of the regs are extremely tight. I guess this isn't so much of problem but more so a deterrent from being able to make a ton of money in this game. With that said I think if you play aggressively enough 100hr should be sustainable. I really have no idea though.

My boy and I stayed at the B and brought a 30 pack with us. The security guard said we are only allowed to bring a six pack per person. He let us go without a fight really

I doubt anyone is making 100/hr in the 5/10 outside of a saturday night when a big fish sits down.

during the day when its the 10 same regs i agree
at night id disagree
2/5 is easily beatable for 50-60hr,and thats with a lot of people sitting on 200 dollars
the players are better in 5/10 but its also deeper stacked and the rake is only 2 dollars more an hr

In the mean time, can't wait for PLO!
Two people asked me if I was SpicyTekkie this past weekend.

No one ever asks me if I am esch. People seem to think esch is some white guy.

This weekend, we need to all do quick 2+2 introductions at the 1/2 PLO game. Just so I can figure out what the heck you guys are posting about here. I mean, I remember the hands you all are talking about, but most of the time I can't remember some of the people involved.

Some of the staff were supportive of a bump up in the comp level. I'd love to see it at the same level as the 10/20 O8 game. Similar starting stacks and rake level. "Size" similar to 2/5 NL. etc. Would definitely perk up some more interest in the game. We should probably persue it with Joe (supervisor?) this weekend and see how far we can get.

btw, random tip for everyone else. Get me to play 4-handed with you and I will dump massive amounts of chips to you in short periods of time. Either I'll be getting it significantly behind or you will hit your 1-5 outers. Guaranteed.

Don't know about that man. It'd be surprised if many people can do that.
