+1

If a couple of us committed to being at the Borgata and running the game short until it fills up, we might be able to get something going. I always hear 3/6 regulars talk about liking to play 5/10. Maybe there can be two tables of 3/6 and 1 table of 5/10 going, instead of three 3/6's.

No, except for a couple rare exceptions, there are no games between 3/6 and 10/20 in all of Atlantic City. Those exceptions are the pink-chip game ($7.50/$15.00) at Borgata, which after a nice start, now tends to be hit or miss. It has been a while since I heard anything out of Tropicana, but last time I heard, they sometimes get a 4/8 going on the weekends, and I have heard of a 6/12 going once during the summer, but both are very rare.
Wasn't there, for a while anyway, a 4/8 game at Harrahs with a 1/2 blind structure.

I didn't. For me, the last mailing I received was about the Borgata Winter Poker Open last week, but didn't include any coupon to cut out (like the free parking pass.)

I haven't really played in a couple years, but it seems that NL has really taken over. This was obviously starting in 2004-2007, but it seems in the 2 years since, it's continued..

I just called the room and they said there was NO 1-2 PLO and only 1 name on the list of interest? How is that possible tonight?

She also said there were NO pink games of any kind??

Weather is good... it's a friday and a holiday?

edit

Stan, is there really no PLO game below 10-25 going on a Friday night -- and no list?

The 5/10 PLO game I played in Wednesday night was a tight, non-action packed game FYI.

Some places let you surrender after hitting/sticking (and before dealer flips)?
Late Surrender just means you can only surrender after the dealer checks for blackjack.

No, I was playing 5/10 NL and got bored, so I decided to play PLO with a table full of regulars.

There still is. Doesn't run every day, but seems to run most afternoons. It was running today.

Same for me - but then, I have recently renewed my Black Card, so don't need the parking passes. Maybe the system finally recognizes this?

Stan,

After just returning from Borgata after a 3day NYE stay, I am saddened to say that it will be my last for the forseeable future. I am moving to Chicago Tuesday. and while I will occasionally return home , I expect to be so busy that I will rarely have time to trek down the parkway. That being said, the kindness that the Borgata has shown to me over the last 6 months is something that I will not forget, and rest assured that any time I travel to AC, I will not set foot anywhere but the Borgata.

People ask me how I came to be comped, and to this day, I have no answer. There is simply no explanation as to why a lowly 1/2, red card player should receive anything from the nicest casino in town. Yet, you did. I orignally thought it was a mistake. I played at Borgata because that was the nicest atmosphere and the most action. I never expected anything more than a few comp dollars in return. Your room offer was incredible, and I thank you for it.

This would be enough to show how much you value your customers, but you went beyond. When you contacted me via PM about forming stud games at Borgata, again I was amazed. I was simply voicing an opinion in the stud forums based on my knowledge of your policies you have expressed in the Borgata thread, and you reached out to try to make the customers happy. You could have told us to get 8 players, and you'll spread the game and left it at that. But you went beyond, telling me that you will do anything you can to help low limit stud get going, even suggesting games that you think have the best change to go. That kind of customer service is rare today in any field, yet you have held yourself to the highest prinicples when dealing with customers.

Finally, I once thought Borgata Poker is what it is because it has the nicest room, the most comfortable chairs, the most tables, etc. I now realize that without you at the helm, none of those things matter, and poker just sinks into another corner of another casino in AC. Thanks.

Point of order:

Last night. I decide to pass up the opportunity to follow the bad beat jackpot downtown in favor of my beloved Borgata. I get a seat in the 3/6 game. I sit down with five twenties in my hand. Floor person says go over to the window to buy chips. Line at the cage is backed up to the high limit area of course (Floor appears not to be visually challenged). I ignore his instructions, I hand the dealer the money, and the floor overrules and orders me to go to the window to buy chips. Thankfully, other players recognize my suffering after a stress filled shortened work week and bail me out with four redbirds here, eight redbirds there.

Stan, please give an orientation ( a re-orientation) to your staff about how important it is to welcome players into the lowest stakes RAKED games. Obviously, they cut math class when they were supposed to learn percentages.

Not only that, have some common courtesy for the clientele when the dealer's rack has a thousand in redbirds and three hundred in white, and sell a poor schlemiel who wants some low stakes time killing poker some chips, out of the rack...

I've never understood the "buy chips at the cage" rule. In a typical 1/2 or 2/5 table rack, there are more than enough green chips to satisfy many initial buy-ins. It's usually the white chips that run out. It's a little annoyance to have to go the cage, but an annoyance nonetheless.

@ defence18's post above: Stan is definitely awesome!

and regarding buying chips at the window: when I play 2/5, sometimes I go to the high limits area, even if the line's not too long.

i never understood why people who know what the rule is think they are above the rules.
if the rule is go to the window, then go the the friggin window
even if it wasnt the rule, you should come to the table with chips, so go to the friggin window.

Except at the really small stakes games. The go to the window rule works contrary to the house interest in this instance. In a larger game, such as the 10/20 or 20/40, a player can deplete the dealer's tray in two or three buy ins, so the go to the window rule works well to minimize the number of fills.

In the 3/6 game, a hundred dollar buy in depletes at most five perecent of the tray's capacity, if that much, so it actually helps to have players buy from the dealer; it keeps more players in the game, especially me.

More players=larger pots=greater rake...

so youre saying everybody should just make their first buyin from the dealer rack?

No, I am just pointing out the instance where it would have made more sense to have a player buy in from the dealer, especially since that player was me...
