Free (self) parking and points expire after 12 months of no activity rather than six months. (Although it's apparently not automatic, just they *can* take points back.)

With the actual MGM credit card you get automatic Pearl and points for purchases, but for me the big benefit looks like that using the credit card counts as activity on your Mlife card for the purposes of point expiration. It's not otherwise that great a card rewards-wise. (It's why I've considered getting the card recently, since the pandemic extension of card levels means I'm now Sapphire, and I haven't been since last May...but my points haven't yet begun to diminish, so...)

You received Tier Credits this week? I’ve received no tier credits for any play in 2022 (40+hours) and have been wondering if it’s an oversight or change in policy. I asked a shift boss about it while he loaded my comps but he had no answer. Said maybe the rewards desk or his boss would know.

Also stopped received room offers.

I played 2/18 from 8:30am to 10pm, had them transfer my points to my card, and also was given 500-600 TC. Checked multiple times last week and still had the same amount of TC. Looked just now and I was given another 1500 TC within the last couple days but haven't played since 2/18.

Haven't seen anything official posted, a few people this weekend mentioned they might be having a $1K buy in , but one of the dealers responded that there hadn't been any meetings discussing that yet so seems like nothing solid yet.

Thank you Jeffage!

It doesn't say and I've only seen it on Borgata's page. If I had to guess it indicates the rake level. Second guess is the comps level.

March tournament schedule out, 1k buyin event on 3/25

I am coming down tomorrow for a few days and may have time to play in one or 2 of the tournaments. Anyone know the average number of entries they are getting for the Wed/Thurs tourneys? Trying to decide if tis worth altering my schedule to play

I prefer to play on Wednesdays and it’s usually in the 160’s give or take. Thursdays, not so sure.

Transferred MGM points from poker room to main system Sunday morning ~6AM, Tier Credits arrived in MGM online account this afternoon. Seems like it consistently takes a few days, possibly a weekly batch transfer?

Ugghhh, my room offers have dried up because I haven't transfered comps in like 6 months. I thought they just weren't allowing more than 2 comped bookings at a time now.
I probably have a couple hundred hours of play waiting.

Does anyone know if they'll transfer over the phone for me?

Not sure one has anything to do with the other. I thought room offers were more based on tier credits. I can tell you I've left hundreds of hours in the poker system over an extended amount of time and the room offers did not drastically change.

You have to check the room prices often as they change constantly - it feels like I see the best prices when I check early in the week, then it spikes like Wednesday/Thursday through the weekend, except last minute they will release comps for the weekend. So for example- if I look on Monday the upcoming weekend is comped, when I look on Wednesday or Thursday its like $400+, but then if there's availability sometimes it will go back to comp later on on Friday.

I think you're right that room offers are more based on tier credits and probably other factors, but I don't think you receive the 75 tier credits/100 MGM points until the points are transferred from the poker system, so if he has un-transferred points he is wouldn't have credits for those points and that might affect comps, not positive but that was my understanding

Well...the system has changed (again) since then, but...

I last played in May 2021. After the comps-have-to-be-transferred change. I didn't get the comps transferred before I left and still haven't seen any comps-now-points for that play, but I *did* see the tier credits fairly soon after.

I'm guessing the Tier credits are getting posted, but not the comps. It looks like I got around 2000 tier credits last weekend. I'm not sure what the rate is at 1-3, but I think I played about 15 hours?

Can anyone tell me how many tier credits and how many points per hour at 1/3 and how many at 2/5?

I've been playing 1/3 one weekend a month since Aug 2020 and been getting weekends comped. Hoping I don't lose them.
If they're super sensitive, it may be because my hours were down on my January trip. It was a snow storm and the Borgata had no dealers so I went to harrah's.

1/3 is 112.5 per hour, 2/5 is 150/hr.

As people have said there's a number of factors involved but 15 hrs/month at 1/3 sounds like it might be a little light for weekend comps since the changes to the system.

I played 51 hours of 2/5 across 2 weekends in February, most likely gonna get a similar amount of hours across three weekends in March, gets me ~75% of the way to Pearl, hoping that as a New Yorker that gets me back to weekend comps. Hasn't been bad so far since I've been rolling down with my father and he's got Marriot points to burn, but I do not miss Greyhound and Superlodge

* Having said that, I went to the desk after playing about 15 of those 18+ hours. They took my info and said the shift supervisor would transfer when he got back. Looking now, I show 625 MGM Reward Points, "+ 20 Pending" whatever that means. So $6.50 in comps. So something didn't happen right most likely, or else the comp rate is now 45c/ hour. (I did double check that some comps weren't used to pay for room resort fee, and they weren't, and I didn't use them for anything else.)

Before, 10/20 was 2 Express Comps/hour and 20/40 was 3 EC/hour, and Tier Credits were 75 per EC. At those rates, you should have 4000+ MGM points and 3000+ Tier Credits.
I was back this weekend. Played another 30 or so hours. After finishing up, I went back to the shift mgr desk to have them transfer the current points, and also look and see what happened last time. He said that there was something wrong (mumbo jumbo) and then said I had ~$150 in comps. I then went and spent about $25 at food court.

As of today, I now show 12,716 MGM Rewards Points. So was probably at about 15,000 points before, for about 50 hours of play at mostly 20/40. So it does seem like 300 points (or $3) per hour, as it was before.

My Tier Status points are a little higher than they were a month ago (I have no idea when or why that happened), but seem clearly not to include my play this weekend, and last months are probably jacked up too. Since we know those are slow to transfer I guess I'll have to wait a while to see where I end up. With any luck, this will also transfer at the old rate, so hopefully expect to be at about (15,000 x 0.75) = 11,000 TC?

Will be a little more complicated to track though, because I'm going to be in Vegas this weekend and will surely log some hours at Bellagio, and may splash around in the pits as well, so I'll have no real way to be sure which things added what, when.

Worth the price of the paper this is written on, but for what it's worth the shift manager mentioned that Borgata had to fight hard to keep poker earning TC, mentioned that most other MGM properties didn't give any TC for poker, and said it could easily go away for Borgata in the future as well.

I’m pretty sure they don’t but don’t remember 100% off the top of my head, do they require ID when signing up for a tourney? Or only for $5000+ winnings?

You usually need ID to cash out anything, not just $5K+

You only need valid photo ID to sign up for a tourney or to cash out more than 10k+, or if you obv hit a jackpot. You also need a players card to reg for a tourney. They may also request ID for age verification purposes. Also, they do request a players card for cash outs $5k+ for internal tracking purposes, but ID is not required.
