Correct me if I’m wrong, I think to play cash no ID required, but if you hit a high hand you’re ****ed cuz then they require ID. Signing up for a tournament requires a players card but no ID. Any tourney winning of $5000+ once again requires an ID.

This has been the case forever, was the case when I last played in October (actually had to give my ID when mincashing the tournament for $600/$200 profit too).

Copy thanks, just had a brain fart. Not to go too much into my personal life but I got a temporary ID from the ny dmv. I know they’re gonna make problems about it so even if I did min cash I could just come back when I get the ID in next week

Only times I've ever needed to show my ID at the casino is to get a replacement players card, a high hand win, or anything resulting in a tax form.

And like you said, if you end up needing your ID for a big win, you can come back when you receive your real ID while they hold your cash. A "good" problem.

NYS DMV is taking months do do things they used to do in weeks. A buddy of mine lost his wallet right after Christmas and just got his replacement DL last week. Same with our registration renewal, it took a month or two longer than "normal."

Ehhhhh damn, but I can’t say that really surprises me. Only thing I’ll say is it might be slightly faster since I’m getting a non drivers license ID. But like the guy above said it’s a “good” problem to have

probably got unlucky or filed by mail

online you get a temporary DL immediately, my registration sticker that I renewed online took a couple of weeks to arrive at the most

Didn’t even make it to sign up for the tourney tomorrow, lost three bullets on the one today in under an hour and then proceeded to get smoked in cash. One of them days lol

Yes. Assuming I understand your question. It’s open to anyone, but you still have to pay to exit (or have an mgm card pearl or higher).

Can anyone confirm either from personal experience or direct response from Borgata if poker players are still receiving tier credits? I played about 30 hours between the first two weekends in March and have not seen any tier credits to date. I can confirm I was definitely swiped in as I had my comps transferred at the end of each session and the comps aligned with the hours played. Has anyone else played since 3/5/22 and seen their tier credits updated for those sessions?

For what its worth, I did email Borgata specifically to ask if tier credits are being awarded for poker and will update if I ever receive a response. Its pretty obnoxious that everyone else's loyalty programs updates the minute you log out, yet MGM takes weeks, maybe months. I'm in the mode of avoiding Borgata and sticking to Parx if they aren't going to give tier credits or be transparent about poker's status in their loyalty program. At this point for me its not worth going to Borgata without the potential for comped rooms when other rooms are closer and have better action and equal game selection. It's a shame as I do enjoy going to AC in general.

Too bad Pokerstars never built their room at resorts and/or Hard Rock decided against a poker room as well. Now would be the time for an AC room to make a move on Borgata, I believe it would be successful in overtaking them with good management.

Also NJ Transit. Some here prefer the 319 to the other bus options even without a casino comp on arrival.

And with the caveat that nothing goes directly to Borgata. You'll have to Jitney/cab once a bus (or train, though the train's not a great option) gets you into AC.

I played poker on 3/12 & 3/13 and had my comps transferred at the end of the sessions.
I can confirm that I have 2,063 Reward Points but ZERO tier credits.

That is unfortunate. So poker players will always be base sapphire now. Unless they degen on the casino floor too.

No. As I mentioned just a few posts above, currently at least you do earn tier credits from poker at borgata. But they can take weeks to appear, with no relation to when the MGM comp points are available.

And other mgm properties don’t have to give you tier credits from poker, though I think some do.

I took ourbus last time I went and was very pleased. Clean bus, departed on time, multiple pickup locations that aren't port authority, wifi and bathrooms on board

This is a small sample size but MIGHT be the answer to a question that many Borg poker players have about recently vanished comped room offers.

I and four poker players I know each used to relax for a little bit at video poker or the slots after a long poker day, or a mid-session break. This never hurt any of us in the past but each of us - who all play 15+ comp dollars earned per day, used to get room offers even for weekends - had ALL of our offers pulled in mid-Feb., which was right after the 2021 cards expired.

Two other players we know, one of whom plays the least hours per day out of all of us, still get rooms, including weekends. But neither of them inserted their card if they played slots or VP.

So, with the new tier year did using our cards at the machines kill our offers even though we still played long poker days? Who knows. The only answer we get from poker management is a shrug of the shoulders and an “I can’t do nuttin about it.”

We've never had sufficient information in here to really know how mixing it non-poker play affects things.

Though comps and TCs at VP and slots are heavily geared toward people who play for hours and hours. It's been long enough since I looked around for info on the earning rates that I don't still remember specifics, but basically if you're going to sit for 15 minutes or half an hour it's not actually worth putting your card in because you'll earn basically nothing. (More likely actually nothing...like $200 in bets is one comp dollar but you have to earn 5 or whatever to get anything.)

I never remember to put my card in anyway, and on the rare occasion that I do I then forget to take it out after.

Can’t speak to Borgata specifically so I could be totally wrong. My wife is a serious degen slot player. She also likes to dabble in poker (if she could handle the slow pace she would be awesome.) since I am not going to take up slots, before rooms re-opened from COVID, so we started playing a little video poker (it was that or back to BJ).

She hasn’t seen a drop in offers since adding some VP. It was a minor concern. But less than when she plays poker. So generally the opposite is true. Poker hurts ratings vs machines even VP. I would expect adding VP would help offers not lower them. Like I said maybe Borgata is different but I have never heard of VP play hurting a poker player rating.

I play poker, slots and dabble in paigow... I’m platinum fwiw, but my room calendar is open 7 days a week and I already booked all of Memorial Day weekend comp. Prob won’t even use it, but plans change.
