I haven't tried it at Borgata but I've done it at other Caesars hotels on the boardwalk. $20 won't get you anything. $50 at Caesars got me a decent upgrade to the Ocean Tower. $100 got me a huge corner suite Ocean Tower upgrade.

Don't listen to this. There is never a need to do more than $20. Please don't. Read the last page or so of the $20 trick thread in LVL to understand why. I don't want to derail this thread by having the discussion here.

it's not common in AC anyway, but you can try.... keep in mind if it's a summer weekend, it'll be sold out regardless. wouldn't work even if it was common practice.
This was also my experience at the borgat but three plus years ago. I used to do it all the time at Taj and get a suite.

How is the 10/20 game? Is it even worth playing or is the 2/5 a better game?

Limit? Games usually pretty good. It plays way less agressive than 20/40, but big enough to be similar to 2/5. If you don't mind playing with older folks. Getting better beverage service and time charge is nice imo. A few really bad players,, few okay ones, only a few winners.

If youre able to deal with having aces cracked cause you couldn't go all in, go for it.

Everyone at the front desk will accept a tip(it's the people who work in the poker room who won't/can't).

And $20 is MORE than enough to get you an upgrade if they're available. I've given $10 and got a very nice corner suite. Probably not their best room, but def a step up regardless.

lol @ whoever said to give $100. **** for that price I'd just as well stay home.

I'd say the 2-5 game is probably better but a lot of people swear by the 10-20 game.

Thanks. I'm in the same age bracket as those at the table. AA is only a pocket pair last I knew.

Hey is it fairly straightforward leaving a bag at the little desk to the right of check in? Theyre not gonna bust my balls and ask to see an actual room reservation are they?

No. I leave stuff there all the time since the poker room security is super strict about having bags in the room (unless they can fit on the back of your chair).

There's no rule about being a hotel guest to use baggage check. They don't care if you're a hotel guest. Baggage check is for anyone. They want you there. I use baggage check at almost every casino I go to, including one's without hotels. Prob used Borgata's over a hundred times.

Like most services that are offered in hotels/casinos, although they are free, there is an expectation that satisfied customers will show their appreciation for the efforts that the employees offer.

Spoiler:
$1 to $2 per item checked is standard.

Do they run any mega-satelites for the Open, or just single tables? If they do, I'd appreciate any details. Thanks.

Yes. Usually, they have 1 in 10 and 1 in 5 satellites.

1 in 10 should be about $350 + $40.

1 in 5 should be about $700 + $80.

These are usually in the last few days before the main event. Saturday usually has the 1 in 5, which usually starts at 3:00 pm and end around 11:00.

The schedule of smaller cash tournament and qualifiers and their dates should be posted about two weeks from now or so, if they post it as they have done in the past.

Here is the one from this year's Summer Open:
