Like the Pointe, check Biltmore, Boulders, and maybe a half-dozen others. There are a bunch of luxury resorts around Phoenix.

Rapini will prob move these also but since mine will go along w/ the rest I'll mention that if a room can be gotten at The Boulders for $75/night I just might check in myself (it's a A#1+++++ resort, Duke. Made some magazine's top 10 golf resort.) I'd try the Hyatt Gainey Ranch. $75/night for that place is a fantastic price.

To the best of your knowledge, is there anyway to register remotely? I want to make sure I can play Day 1B and don't get shut out (won't be arriving until Friday night late).

Thanks!

Could try calling the box office. Unless they did away with it.

Prices vary wildly in the summer, I have no idea why. Even at the same place it can be $50 one years and $150 the next. Boulders in Carefree isn't quite $75, but their website says "from $109". I don't know how boulder-ish the other locations are, but lots of boulders at the Carefree one and I think it's the original.

If I were a golfer and didn't have to care for mom I'd check in next week at that price.

Was/is anyone on here in the poker room tonight? If so, does anyone have any updates on the state championship tournament? Has anything exciting or interesting happened? Are there any big names left? Were there any big names even entered in it this year? I was just curious about what's going on and if anybody felt like posting about any of the happenings going on there tonight or over the weekend. If so, I'd be interested in reading about them!

The Twitter account and overall social media coverage of the event is pretty weak. Just another way Talking Stick is apparently ok with staying off the grid in the poker world.

Someone just asked on twitter what the updated payouts were with the final numbers, and the 'official' AZ State Championship twitter responded by reposting the flyer payouts based on 1100 entrants.

Clown show all around.

I don't know why they don't have a 1k quarterly at least. Every player in the state and surrounding states would come in for it. I think they need to add a 1/2 game as well.

Indeed. And after checking his stats online to make sure you weren't violating the privacy guideline, that's really the only explanation for your rant. He's cashed in quite a few tournaments over the years. Do you have better results?

I don't think cashes in '05 and '06 tourneys predict current poker skill.

I can only play a few hours at a time because of the chairs. People would seriously play longer and the casino would make more money if the chairs were appropriate

And what about the other half?

I'm more interested in the guy who brought it up's track record so we can compare.
