Never seen a table laugh harder then the check raise on the turn....wow some players are just so so so so bad

honestly think the 5-10 is softer than 2-3/3-5 often, especially with that player in the game
Especially if he can check when facing a bet.

I played three hours of 3/6 limit and made $2 the other day - However I was also the only person at the table who didn't re-buy or wasn't down quite a bit. No money to be had in that game, so it's time to hit up the 2/3 NL

I find it funny that they finally have a good structured tournament outside of the deepstack or bounty tournament in the room, and it is for the FREEROLL!!! WTF???? Seriously come on [name removed] and tournament director crew....lets get this structure in the daily and/or at least the nightly tourneys!!!

Well, there is only entity at the table making $120/hour.

If you can beat that guy, you're in luck.

yeah I thought it was going to be a lot tougher at the 2/3 NL. I have been about 8 times in the last few months and only lost twice I think. Basically once you get your stack to 400 or so...people fold to your continuation bets etc far more often.

Then the people that I recognize, I basically don't call their raises pre flop with anything but a top 4 hand (if that) and profit.

All these old nits playing 2/3 and folding 95% of the time crack me up. Whenever they raise it's hilarious to watch all the cards fly into the muck at the same time

lol once you get your stack to 400... I wouldn't play if you can't afford to min buy 500.

I play 2/3 where max buy in is 300 so once your stack is 400-500 it just seems like people avoid you more than if your sitting at 120...just my two cents.

I can afford my buy ins but thanks for your concern.

Thought you were saying you bought would short buy at 4-5 for 300 and but got more respect when you got to 400. Agree with you about the old nitty regs though.

They did something unique tonight: The football tickets were good for both the pro and college game. This a good idea, I hope they do it more.

THEN, our 8-16 game got short. I was willing to play 6 handed or even 5 but the floor said that they don't reduce the rake during football pools so they lost a game. That is just plain stupid and I'm putting it here bec I know that management reads this.

I actually have decided that 400 is the ideal 3/5 buyin as well you have enough leverage to make all cbets and 3bets pre and can triple barrel shove rivers and get ppl to fold better. 2/3 players just don't play back I honestly would fold jj-qq to some of these guys they play their hands face up

They cut off a lot of shot takers from the 3-5 buy not making it a 200 - 500 like the rest of the world. the result is you know everyone at those two tables but can always find strangers at 2-3.

I agree with this, and found it quite funny as well. Maybe they're gettin a clue? I see they've posted the State Championship structure on the website already, and by God if it doesn't look almost acceptable after how many years of complaining?

The funniest part of the "freeroll" was the fact it was a $14,500 prize pool... a "giveback" to us regulars... But do the math... 300+ entries with a $30 service fee is $9000. They pretty much covered most of the prize pool with the so-called "service fees". That was the funny joke of the "freeroll".

At least they smile while they rake us. Now before I restart my old waste-of-time 2p2 habit again... I'm outta here. See ya on the felt!

Next years structure is posted, already?

The State championship is always so good for the room that I don't know why they don't expand it. They should run multiple events over the preceding week or two, including LHE, 08, Draw events, big satellites, and a daily $300 NL tournament. Out of towners would come in early to fill the hotel and stay the week, the room rates are great, the pool is awesome, and the action would be amazing.

And they should find another slow spot for the hotel's occupancy in spring to do the exact same thing in spring. It's one of the best ways to market the room and the casino and get out of staters in the habit of visiting when their states weather isn't so nice.

I agree DC, but they just keep with their monthly tourney schedule month after month after month, having some random O8 and 2-7 tourneys once in a blue moon. I think a series would be awesome and would see me enter a HORSE or LHE event as well, given they have a non horrible structure. I don't think there is a poker room this size or bigger that doesn't have some sort of series at least once a year tied to it.

A lot of people would come out for a AZSOP-type set of events.

I'll see Pope at the HORSE game.

I think CAZ should partner with WSOP Circuits, Heartland Poker, or the current WPT. We're big enough that management could approach both and say "Who wants it more?"

Don't the casinos have to pay the tournament circuit organizers? I'm guessing CAZ is too cheap. And WSOP Circuit is CET only.

forget WSOP...just have a quarterly $500 or $1000 dollar buy-in MTT

This would be a great idea - similar to other States that have poker championships.

Offer a 2 or 3 week menu of tournaments with different formats/buy-ins.

Obv the current staff could not handle this - they would get too stressed out.

There are groups out there that do this for casinos - I was just listening to a podcast where one group covered a tournament slate in St. Louis and in Oklahoma...at the same time

So it can be done...

this would make CAZ/TSR a great destination if it could happen.
