I'll chime in and say it runs every day in my observed experience and usually starts short and often has just a short list even if it is full

But a short list doesn't always mean a quick turnaround.

I agree with you, it is so bad at TS even dealers talk about players wins, looses and bad playes.
The dealers do anything they want and the floor thinks the are doing a great job because they are backing up their dealers.

yes several dealers got fired for stealing money out of the pots. Thats why they finale went to not caring their owen trays. When I first starred playing there I mentioned to the card room manager that every room I ever played in had trouble with dealers stealing from players when care their owen trays. He said not to worry they check on them all the time and watch the cameras. He and the tournament direct booth got fired at the same time for stealing from players.

I think I might have been sitting at your table when this happened; or the same thing happened in another tournament with same/different guy.

I have seen people get VERY upset about not paying the bubble, or not agreeing to chop. I had never seen a "save" before moving to AZ, but it, too, has become the norm.

I have played at a lot of places wit Bravo though, including many places where it was new, and have seen very few issues with it. The only consistent problem I see is some dealers forgetting to put you back in when you come back from walking. It is generally easy to tell though, the light by your name will be flashing; so if you see that, just kindly remind the dealer to clock you back in.
In Vegas, I've seen them push the button as soon as you stand up. Every minute counts.

That also illustrates how easy it is to do. They do it right in the middle of a hand because it only takes two seconds.

In some rooms with Bravo, the directive is "Do it as soon as you see them leave or come back."

Many of the dealers who deal during the day are out of control. They like to make themselves part of the game instead of doing what they are suppose to do-- which is to deal the cards and mind their own business unless an issue arises. The dealers who deal at night are more professional and seem to be much better about knowing their role.

Lets see make you sit on banquet chairs that now are thread barring, filthy ugly carpets no Bravo poker,. They admit they know these all need to be fixed but going to take time to fix. Wow highest rake and time collection. Have made millions on top of millions admit every thing about them sucks but give us what another 20 years of misery we will address the problem. How about taking care of the cold air blowing from floor vents. Making the room have its owen heat and air condition zone instead of the kino room setting the tempature.
How about telling the dealers to shut up stop interupting and butting into players conversations, learn the rules. Of corse then the over half of floor people who do not know the rules should have to learn them.
I have never had a position wete I could make 2 or 3 mistakes every hour or not know the house rules and regulations. Dealers think about it you sit at your job inside no AZ weather issues. No college degree needed. If you do not do a good job here you should go to a seven eleven, stand your whole shift no brakes, no tips and maybe get shot. Some of the dealers even complain about managment, do you know how bad that is infront of customers.

I'm biting my tongue on twitter, but having a $110 buy-in satellite for a $300 buy-in tourney is just a slap in the face and laughing at how stupid we are to pay double rake like that. They are just bending over and raping the players at this point.

Just looked at the details. For every 10 players (aka $1100), they are awarding a seat package. That is entry into all three tourneys, an $800 value. Those three tourneys have rake of $30, $35, and $35. So for $1100 in entry fees, CAZ gets $400 and the prize pool gets $700.

You also get 2 nights in the Resort Hotel as part of the package if you win the Satellite.

That is a decent perk since you'll be playing all 3 events.

For locals/regulars, it's not much of a perk and probably wouldn't be used by many. Like u said earlier, it's a heck of a deal for the casino, not for the players. Typical TS crap.

This Arena Fall "Classic" is a bleeping joke and is an insult to the poker community. Run a $550 2 day tournament with re entry for first 6 levels. That's better. But no, let's allow the TDs to get home super fast after an easy 8 hour work day where the FT gets chopped because the nits and old regs are scared to continue playing after that.

How many idiots played the satellite today?

Paying $30 in rake so you can win $100 in rake from your entries. Needless to point out 20 min levels and skipping 10 levels over the course of it is just a slap in the face and doesn't promote the game in anyway...only lining the pockets of the tribe

How long till TSR starts charging .25 for those mints in the poker room?

Highest rake/jackpot drop in region, worst daily tournament structures in country for a big poker room...what's next?

But props for apparently planning on installing new carpet and new chairs. That'll keep the old retirees happy in the 3/6 LHE

I probably should just not say this, but all of the bitching about the tournament structures and formats don't really resonate with me. TSR is BY FAR the best place in Az to play cash games (too bad it's not true NL or PL but it is what it is). For me the tournaments just take up parking spaces in the garage and tables that would be better used for cash

Given how they run tournaments currently, I 100% agree.

By contrast Bay 101 is running a mega satellite tomorrow that has some similarities. It's $125, pays a seat for every 10 entries, but the main event seat for the Bay 101 Open that gets awarded is $1100.

$1250 in entries gets you $1000 in the main prize pool I am assuming.

250/1000 = 25%
400/700 = 57%

Years ago a tourney reg asked why I never played them so I broke down the vig for him, laid out how many tourneys had to be won outright just to cover that, plus the time could be spent playing cash and all I got for my trouble was 'I like to play them.' It's clear that something has cut down attendance so much and that's probably number one. But people still play.

Probably the easiest "complaint" to alleviate as all it takes is one and only one player to decline and there will be no chop( or to "pay the bubble" before the final table).

So, You have complete control over that "issue", that said, you have to make it to the final table in order to refuse to chop.

If "you" are at the final table and there IS a chop then...

I play because the good players are avoiding them.

I know one of the big LHE players locally about why he didn't play more tournaments or satellites to the big WPT. He's certainly capable, having won a $2k that paid him over $150k. He did a similar analysis to yours, and basically figured the time invested simply wasn't worth it compared to his 80/160 win rate. He'd have to almost cash in every tournament to match his cash game earn.
