It's totally unrealistic that Gus would have ever allowed Jesse to learn the location of the meth lab. It only happened because it was necessary for the show. It's quite clear that Jesse is the mistake Gus referenced.

Anyone else find it odd that Walt has not gotten laid in two years, knows his wife is a whore and bitch, is dying in a couple of years, is a millionaire, and hasn't gotten some Mexican strange yet?

1st of all the beginning of season 2 shows him practically raping his wife, and I think she was pregnant at the time so I doubt it's been 2 years. 2nd who really gives a **** how long it's been since Walt got laid????? The only time his sex drive may have affected his actions this season was during his interaction with the school principal when he was suspended

I don't mean to pick on you specifically Stewie, but this is the kind of completely irrelevant crap people have been obsessing over this season when there are SOOOO MANY other things going on in this show that can generate an interesting discussion or debate.

fairly odd that Gus was cool with bringing back Jesse in the first place.

agreed. i know it's minor but it drives me nuts. Surprised Gus hasn't offed him yet just for that.

one minor nit I had: that chick Jesse banged said "when he was born I told myself I'd never let what happened to Thomas happen to him." Then she goes on to explain that Thomas killed that dude. But that was just a few months ago and her kid is like 5 or so.

i think it's major gayballs for them to comment on eps they watch before they're aired.

iirc he wasn't, Walt had to basically whine and beg and play the "but you said it was all mine to control card......"
06-05-2010 , 11:03 AM
yeah i know, but i don't see how Gus, the most successful drug lord in the SW, doesn't just say "stfu". alas, it has to happen to continue the plot, i just wish the car thing got covered better. the "he has a job at a cleaners" only works up until they see Walt's car there, too, or worse, Walt himself.
06-05-2010 , 11:36 AM
"works" for whom? Absolutely no one is tailing Jesse. From the DEA's POV, the Mexican cartel is clearly responsible for Hank's shooting; Jesse turned up clean when they tested his blood at the hospital, so Hank was just inexplicably obsessed with him. They don't want any more heat over this assault thing, so they're leaving Jesse alone.

Hank is the only one who could conceivably connect all the dots here, and he won't be going anywhere for a while.

what happened = being part of the gang environment, not the initiation part.
kid is like 3-4

What if Jesse gets a DUI and injuries the other driver? What if he steals and tries to sell it? What if he gets picked up for previous crimes and charged? Gus knows that he was just beaten by a police officer. He has enough police contacts to find out the story behind what happened. If Walt was cooking on his own, Gus wouldn't care... but with the facility arrangement it is absurd. Obviously, it is just about moving the plot along.

How much time has gone by in the series? It's only been about a year or so, right?
06-05-2010 , 05:22 PM
Less than a year. Skyler was very pregnant at the beginning of the series and the baby is less than 6 months old.

might have been the expert "i got the worst ****ing lawyers" post, but I had a crazy BB+AD mashup dream.

Some thoughts about what might happen this episode (pure speculation):
Spoiler:
So Jesse is going to try something with the gang that killed Combo, right? I think there's a chance that Gus tries to have Walt "take care" of him, only for Walt to be bailed out when Jesse's revenge attempt fails and the gang takes care of his dirty work for him. Walt may even face another decision point, a la Jane, where he has to choose whether or not to let Jesse die.

It would be a sly and possibly savvy move-- albeit not really in character for Mr. Pinkman-- if Jesse decided to have someone he knew tip off the cops about that corner, and get his revenge that way.

Another thought I had (very minor spoilers about episode titles):
Spoiler:
The penultimate S3 episode is titled "Half Measures", and the finale is titled "Full Measure". This makes me think that Walt take the "half measure" of firing Jesse from the lab, or doing something else to deal with his stealing, and when he (or Gus) quickly realizes the danger he poses, the "full measure" of having him killed is put into effect.

It could also refer to Jesse's dealings with Tomas and that crew, or to the degree with which Psckuyllare involves herself with the business.

Man. The "showbiz" side of me says no way they can kill Jesse yet, but the "realistic drama" side of me says that the Gus-and-Walt operation can't continue for much longer with Jesse around. He has to have a virtual 180 in personality and motivation, or he's going to end up dead.
