That scene is in my top 5 as well. It's bad ass and the song is perfect!

Walt almost a lock to be kingpin by Season 4 finale imo.

So Breaking Bad starved. I guess I'm going to watch the whole series again for the 3rd time since it ended. When complete it'll be my 4th viewing of season 3 too.

They need to get those webisodes out too. If they are filming already, I dnt understand what they are waiting for.

5) PI explaining to Walt why half measures are inferior to full measures
6) "This is my territory imo"
7) Walt about to pass out/spill the beans about Jesse's dead GF in "Fly"
8) "I'm going to assume this is a negotiating tactic"
9) One minute
10) "This is my own private domicile....BITCH!"

Just started my rewatch of season 3 and there's a lot of really funny stuff so far. Just in the second episode:

1) OH THAT IS JUST PERFECT!!! PEPPER SPRAY THE MAN WHO IS EXPRESSING HIS OPINION UNDER THE FIRST AMENDMENT!!!! Uggggggggghhhh....ugggghhhhh....uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
2) Saul real estate negotiating
3) "I know you've been off the market for a while, but you'd be amazed at what's out there...Thailand, Czech Republic...those women are so grateful just to BE here"
4) "I GOT YOUR RESTRAINING ORDER RIGHT HERE! RESTRAIN THIS!"

"Walt what are you doing?!!"

Walt (dragging giant potted plant across floor): "I'm talking with Ted."

Does Walt know if the guy he talked to in the bar is Jane's dad/the guy responsible for Wayfarer?

Yeah, he says so in "Fly."
04-10-2011 , 01:30 PM
I don't think he knew at the time, though. He may have found out later when he saw Donald's face on TV.
04-10-2011 , 02:22 PM
He didn't know it was Jane's dad when he was talking to him at the bar. In the first episode of S3 he learns that Jane's dad was the one responsible for the crash. Whether he realizes he had talked to him at the bar that night isn't clear but I think it was implied. I mean he sees his picture all over the news so unless he forgot about that conversation he would know. And it's mentioned later in the season that he did make the connection at some point so I assume he figured it all out right away.

jesus christ this show is so good

also regarding best scenes discussion, I think Mikes monologue about half measures vs full measures has to be up there on top
04-10-2011 , 04:09 PM
true.

Jesse's "possum" monologue was pretty great too.

have been watching a few of the re-runs on AMC at nights, such an awesome show. i really need to go back and re-watch the entire series again before S4.

Powered through BB until the second to last episode of S3. "Run" is def my fav moment of the series, I thought "WTF there is still one episode left after this?!?! They could end it here!!!"

Def going to power through the series once before S4.

The worst thing about finishing this show isn't the wait for next season.

I watched some Californication, and thought "this sucks." So I moved on to Dexter, "this sucks too, what's with the hype?" First couple episodes of the Shield? "Terrible."

Then it hit me.

i like dexter a lot. i don't think it's as good of a show all-around or as well written as BB but definitely an enjoyable watch for me

Sure, I'm watching it now. I'm not saying anything about those shows, I didn't dislike them because they were bad, I disliked them because they weren't Breaking Bad.

Watching a great show is kind of like looking into bright sunlight for awhile and then going indoors.

I feel the same way, I was pretty late to get into both shows. I watched all of breaking bad before I started Dexter and while I do enjoy Dexter for what it is, it's just not breaking bad and doesn't compare.

Third season might actually be the funniest one yet...

"What are the parameters of this sobriety thing you got going? Can you take a Xanax? Cause I got a drawer full of them. I get them from my 'chiropractor'. Vietnamese. Five foot tall. She adjusts you 'to completion'."

OK things I know are Important Symbolic Stuff in Breaking Bad but I have no idea what it means.

1) Walt cutting the crusts off of sandwiches. He's done it like 3 or 4 times. I've thought about this for literally minutes and cannot figure out what it means.
2) Pools. There is way more action around pools than would be expected. Does it mean something? Or is it just

For the crusts, I believe it goes back to Season one where they've got the guy locked up in the basement and Walt brings him a sandwich. He notices that the prisoner eats everything except the crusts and in future meals decides to cut the crusts off. I'm assuming he feels guilty about actually killing him.
04-11-2011 , 02:35 AM
Maybe Walt just dont like crusts?
04-11-2011 , 02:39 AM
Another thing...on Walt's "con" list for killing crazy 8 he lists that he will likely get PTSD. But he hasn't. At all. And he has done some serious ****, above and beyond the crazy 8 killing. This is relevant because Hank has in fact gotten PTSD for going through stuff that is comparable to what Walt has done. But Walt is completely unfazed. Are we being told that Walt is a sociopath? That Hank's reaction is appropriate and Walt's is not?
04-11-2011 , 03:39 AM
Also Hank and elevators means something. No clue what it is, but Hank has had literally 10 scenes in an elevator.
