I'd cook there look how clean and new it looks.
04-18-2010 , 11:09 PM
outstanding episode...maybe the best final 5 minutes in the show's history other than the Jane dying scene

Huge smile on my face when:

Spoiler:
Walt decided to work solo for Gus in that BADASS lab

Questions I have:

I thought Jesse got the RV from that junkyard????

Did Walt's windshield get broken twice or just once????
04-18-2010 , 11:10 PM
jesse got his red car from the junkyard

i don't understand the second question. it was broken by jet crash debris then he got it fixed then jesse broke it now
04-18-2010 , 11:17 PM

Rocket Scientist by Teddybears.

I loved this episode.

Gotta admit I'm pretty terrified. Somehow this show really got me attached to the Jesse character. Now that he's been cut out of the loop it seems like his arc may be coming to a close. If I was in his shoes I'd be with a lawyer 10 minutes later trying to hash out a deal with the DEA to turn in everyone in exchange for immunity and a home far, far away. Obv that would end the show so... not happening.

Now that he's out and with the knowledge he has and the grudge he now holds is there any choice for Walt and his overseers other than killing Jesse?

I haven't felt this certain and pained about someone's inevitable death since The Wire ended. Well played BB, Well played.

Theres also the option of Jesse getting back together with Walt at some point, it doesnt seem like Jesse would have much of a shot going against Walts skills & backing.

Technically that wasn't a scene. Are you talking about any particular moment? The meeting with Gus where you can see Walt's face change when Gus talks about a man's responsibility to his family? The scene where Skyler walks into the baby's room and finds all of Walt's stuff gone and the divorce papers signed (amazing, btw)? Or the scene where Walt confronts Jesse in Saul's office?

This sounds like a pretty awesome scene tbph.

Don't think the last five minutes were particularly that much better than any of the rest of the show's history, but this episode was one of my favorites ever.

It got broken twice. Once during the plane crash, and just now by Jesse.

Someone who thinks like you (rational in this case) wouldn't ever be in Jesse's shoes in the first place. I think you're probably right about Jesse's fate, but I don't think it's a lock.

Also, the best part of this episode (and possibly the whole series for me) was when Walt looked Jesse in the eyes and said, "That is the last dollar you'll ever make in this business." That was just so intense and awesome. Still probably not better than the chick ODing or the turtle explosion scene, but close.

And seriously, don't use spoilers once the episode has aired. It's just annoying and I've heard some people have trouble viewing when browsing on their phones. If someone doesn't want to be spoiled then they shouldn't come in to a thread for Breaking Bad discussion.

More fundamentally-- I think he didn't tell her because he feared her opposition. Simple as that.

According to lawyer character this episode she is an 'accessory after the fact' now.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessory_after_the_fact
Quote:
In the United States, a person who learns of the crime and gives some form of assistance before the crime is committed is known as an "accessory before the fact". A person who learns of the crime after it is committed and helps the criminal to conceal it, or aids the criminal in escaping, or simply fails to report the crime, is known as an "accessory after the fact". A person who does both is sometimes referred to as an "accessory before and after the fact", but this usage is less common.

I do not think they will kill off Jesse. If they do it will be in the season finale imo. I'll lay 1.5:1 that he survives to the finale, and 1:1 that he survives the season.
04-19-2010 , 06:11 AM
Really good episode. I was really confused at the beginning and only realized in the end, that there was a flashback (despite Kombo being alive again), idiot me.

The scene with Skyler and her sister on the phone doesnt get enough credit imo. "A man changes when he is faced with death, dont you think?" (probably quoted wrong). I think Skyler regrets her actions now, but I am not sure.

This could get ugly with Jesse and Hank, Hank seems to be on to something and Jesse is forced out of the game.

Maybe Jesse gets killed in the street when he tries to sell his stuff personally, since the Gus connection is gone.

Pumped for next week, this show is incredibly good!

YES! Great episode and certainly the best episode of the new season. Must say I liked Gustavo from the start and he is a great villain character in the same sort-of way as Idris Elba/Stringer Bell was in The Wire. Low key, very intelligent, always eloquent, pulling all strings from the background - and very powerful indeed.

Outstanding dialogue between him and Walt about what being a man/provider is all about.
Did he believe his own words though... Or would he say anything just to make Walt come work for him?

Anyones guess imo

I still dont know for certain if he is:
A: A bad guy with a conscience.
or
B: A psychopath who is very good at acting like a nice guy.

I'm surprised that Gus has never discussed with Walt the fact that he knows that his brother-in-law is a DEA agent. You would think that this is something that he would bring up.

This has to mean something down the road.

Don't know when he's ever shown a conscience. He's never done anything that hasn't personally benefited him and is a large contributor to a crystal meth epidemic. He's undoubtedly responsible for ruining many people's lives and it doesn't even seem like he's getting to enjoy the fruits of it since he's working at a ****ing fast food place for 40 hours a week.
