check out express, I'm sure you'll like it

So I need some decent all-around shoes that I can wear around with jeans and a button up. Not Dressy though. I want them on the casual side but something I could wear to a club as well.

Not even sure wear to start honestly. I'm 6'2" white guy, med build.

Suede chukkas, sidezip boots, brogues... Depends on the style you prefer.

saw some freshman wearing a lanyard with his student card attached around his neck. poor guy.

His shirt was tucked in too amirite?
09-12-2012 , 02:19 PM
from what I remember his clothing was normal. but the lanyard around the neck is like the lanyard hanging out of the pockets ******ed cousin. you might as well just wear a hat that says virgin on it.

What do you guys think about wearing cardigans in a club? This one is very light and has a nice touch (100% virgin wool) so my only concern is style:

Also some questions if it's fine to wear:

1) 5 buttons, i let the first and last open, standard?
2) What pants and shoes would go with the black caridgan / white T combo?

80% of the people downtown where I live have lanyards. They also put zero effort into their appearance. It is pretty horrible.

If it was a suit you'd leave the bottom button open and the top button it would depend on the type of lapels but for most also open. I assume the same applies to cardigans but I haven't worn one since it was required as part of a high school uniform.

Just not your thing or is there something about cardigans I don't know?
09-12-2012 , 04:27 PM
I don't have anything against them but they are not appropriate for most of my outings. I also think they look better on people who are tall and slim which I'm not.

Def bottom button undone with cardigan, you can do up the top.

haha, I actually thin Cardigans are better suited for smaller people.
Lanky people in a cardigan look weird (reason I cant wear them).

It means you get different dress pants.

Get a navy blazer.

Yay or nay?

09-15-2012 , 08:16 AM
nay

You dont ask if you should buy shoes like this. Either you know you can make an outfit work with them or you know you dont.

Those look extremely ugly though.

Agree with Spurious. Shoes like that require a certain level of style and if you are uncertain then you don't have it.

which is better black or dark brown leather jacket?

I'd like something as versatile as possible
09-24-2012 , 07:36 PM
Dark brown will be more versatile than black.

I think the opposite is true. Not to mention black leather just looks better. I think you will have a hard time matching a brown leather jacket with as many outfits as you can match a black one to.

Style of jacket would be a factor. Are we talking 3/4 length or bomber style?

Indochino suit came last Thursday. Everything fit well except the dress shirt. It's almost unwearable. Neck is choking tight, feel like my biceps will explode out of the shirt and it barely extends past my belt.

Suit is very nice. Happy with it.

I agree black leather looks better than brown in general. I find brown much more versatile than black though, maybe that's just my wardrobe/personal preference.
