Not sure I'm good at judging the quality. I am mostly talking about casual shirts with a price range of $30-100. The upper range mostly consists of Ralph Lauren.

Don't bother getting them tailored. Start buying MTM if you can't find OTR shirts that fit you very well.

Also tailoring shirts is a rather easy thing to learn(from what I have been told), if you need to get a lot of things tailored just invest in a sewing machine instead, go to a good will type place, pick up a few shirts of different types that dont fit you, and practice on them.

Use the youtubes for an hour or so then get practicing.

Also I currently have an undercut/ss cut hybrid as I am going as macklemore for halloween.

Macklemore hair for reference:

That actually looks fairly ****ng accurate to how its cut for me, except its not quite as drastic as a change(min is a buzzed 2 with a quick fade at the top going so it goes for like 2/3 inch hair to like 5 inch hair instead of like 1/8-> 5 inch). My hair is also a little longer I reckon than his on the top.

After halloween though I might keep it fora little(well obviously I have to keep it unless i want to shove the long part which I dont really want to). But instead of wearing it like macklemore after halloween Ill prob go more ss style, with a little more obvious gel look liek this:

custer i might have to steal your macklemore idea, i wanted to try that haircut out anyways and test it out. i was initially going to go to a thrift shop and attempt to find a fur coat since it would be the most recognizable, but i just realized that i don't want to be sweating my balls off the whole night, i think I'll go with the indian vest, plus raybans or whatever.

Ya luckily im not in florida which I believe is where you live. It wont be too cold, but should be passable(60ish), although it might get a little hot in bars, **** it YOLO.

I also am a pretty good ringer for Macklemore. Im 6'4 irish/german, with pale skin and very similar hair color and what I presume is a similar thickness in hair. I will probably be rocking raybans too, just because I think adding glasses will make me look more like macklemore(or make it look less like me I should say, since my eyes are covered)

God a fur coat from Goodwill, **** cost 18$, didnt even know good will had **** in it that cost 18$. Im gonna be wearing this tank underneath(which I have had for like 7 months not something I bought for costume), which should help keep me a little cool.

here is a pic of coat, ignore sweatpants and bathroom ldo.

That coat is awesome for a Macklemore outfit, nice find.

Ya gonna be pretty ****ing epic imo, although majority of people wont get it I imagine everyone that knows macklemore at all will get it and love it. Will make sure to post a pic after this weekend.

Not looking forward to the drunk *******s thnking im going as a pimp tho.

Just wondering how popular macklemore is among hot girls tho, thats the key.

Coat is a great find. Pimp themed events come up every so often and that coat is pretty much perfect for them.

You can get MTM form online retailers, a lot of Chinese companies have been doing them, just google around.

Theres also american companies like Thick as Theives but Im not sure they make anything other than suits.

I've had good luck with tailorstore (an online MTM), though there are plenty of others that people will vouch for. Some stores like Nordstrom and Brooks Brothers also offer MTM, in addition to your local tailors.

How does online MTM work? Do you measure yourself?

Yes. I've only used tailorstore but they give you ~20-30 measurements to take (with very specific directions and pictures of how to take each). I did each measurement several times and ordered one shirt. Made a few adjustments after that first shirt arrived and the 4-5 I've ordered since have all been damn near perfect.

Some people measure themselves, most people I know got measured by a tailor.

Question guys, any tips on finding a good tailor? The google hasn't been as helpful as I hoped.
10-27-2012 , 12:34 PM
Check styleforum, they usually got recommendations on tailors unless you live in the middle of nowhere.

Not to sound gay, but do you guys do anything with your eyebrows? I never have, but If there is something I can do to improve my aesthetics, I'm all for it.

I used to have my eyebrows done but don't currently. It really depends on what you look like but if you are typical Mediterranean look then get them done.
