I send everything to the cleaners.

If you plan to do it yourself the correct way is hand wash and hang dry. Then you need to iron.

Too much work when you can just pay someone $6 to do it for you.

For sure. All my nicer stuff goes to the dry cleaner.

Machine wash and dry, but I don't have any super nice ones. Dry on low heat.

I did this today since I needed them cleaned and didn't think to ask this question until later. One of my shirts came out wrinkled between the button holes on the strip of cloth. Extremely annoying. I think I have to iron it to get the wrinkle out, but it's not a button up I wear with a suit it's just a casual one to wear with some dark jeans.

Any good recommendations for dressier shoes in the sub $100 range? At the moment I'm wearing dark jeans, button downs and trainers or Adidas Sambas. Not bad, but I want a more dressier shoe that could be worn with chino's and/or a suit.

But in actuality, you should probably not be looking for shoes to do both under 100$.

Get a pair of clarks desert boots for chinos, and save or splurge more for dress shoes.

Sorry, I should have specified. I was talking about the Clarks desert boots.

Clarks have become the menswear standard for casual non winter boots. Yes they are comfortable and bitches love them. And they are fashionable.

Ah, too bad it's -30C here, so I'll wait to get those until it warms up.

What do you think about something like these?

In the Peanut Pinch colour or the Root Big Horn colour?

I would advise against those
12-02-2012 , 02:18 AM
Those are also women's shoes, so that's not gonna be a good idea
12-02-2012 , 08:00 AM
They are also horrible.

Shoes for under $100 are going to look like cheap shoes. I don't think it is a good idea.

Thrift store the **** out off that, my man. I found a beautiful pair of brouges for $7 a few months back. I had to change the soles, but still, I got a $500 pair of shoes for less than $80.

I will look into this for sure, lots of shops like that around here. I unfortunately don't know the name brands I should be looking for though or signs of quality.

Don't buy sub 100 dress shoes. Just save up for a better pair. Buy some thrift store shoes for like $6 in the meantime.

A good entry level shoe is Allen Edmonds. They run in the low 300s and are excellent. They never go on sale from Allen Edmonds, but sometimes you can find retailers that have shoe sales or something like that that include them. Amazon had one for Black Friday/Cyber Monday that was like 30% off shoes along with some other discount so you could get new AEs for like $200 which is the cheapest I've ever seen them.

hootz, you'll find some decent options at The Bay. I've seen some nice Calvin Klein's in the 150-200 range. It's a good place to start. gl

Well this isnt really true, they do have sales on rare occasions. And they also sell factory seconds for cheaper which have small blemishes.

edit: they have sales right now lol

Thank you sir, I do have one of those here so I will definitely check them out. I guess I'll also check out those clark desert boots while I'm at it.
