Masque is employed, but in academia.
05-05-2015 , 02:49 PM
Maybe masque gets paid per word?
05-05-2015 , 03:28 PM
I have to assume masque is insanely brilliant in some niche uber-nerd field of astrophysics or whatever the hell it is he does. There's just no other way that guy is employable.
05-05-2015 , 03:35 PM
I feel like if he did have a real academic job like that, he wouldn't have such a chip on his shoulder.

Well, we already know spank sleeps at his computer so as not to miss a chance of responding 3 times every instance of someone posting.

Maybe he's a post-doc.

Based on the trends of their behavior, these guys butthurt-gossiping about educated people is irony of notable regards.

Most of the people with whom I work would be really surprised by the degree of crazy I can demonstrate on the internet. For some of us, that's just where we let the crazy fly.
05-05-2015 , 04:21 PM
Oh man that SMP thread is just sad/excellent.

You would have thought that with the power politics posters apparently wield we'd like at least be able to get ikes or spanky banned. **** JOB ALL OF US.
05-05-2015 , 04:39 PM
Yeah, no offense to Bruce - but I didn't even know he existed before this whole thing blew up. Why would we waste our witch hunting efforts on a nobody instead of on somebody that would have been nice to get rid of.
05-05-2015 , 05:06 PM
Oh man, that "help you with your homework" line really put him on tilt.

If I worked with some random, unremarkable person and I found out they were actually you, I'd think, "Huh, weird."

If I worked with a random, unremarkable person and I found out they were masque, I'd want a restraining order.

Dids, you may have just, like most people, glazed over and skimmed the walls of text he writes. But it's not just the length. Lawhorn is wordy. DrModern wrote really dense paragraphs. Those are normal people with quirky writing styles.

This guy... it's not just barely English, it's INCREDIBLY angry and incoherent. Most people who write angry use swear words and organize their thoughts or whatever so you can tell what's going on, with him it's just stream of consciousness, pure emotional output.

I've mentioned this before, but Ferguson wasn't the first time his words of wisdom were linked in Politards. We lolled at his thoughts on Jefferson and the slaves at the time they were written, well BEFORE the fiasco.

The difference is he didn't appear to find out about it, chez and FoldN et al. didn't get involved.

chez, as always, while Bruce is not banned and could post here any time, far and away the non-Bruce person most responsible for him leaving is and will forever be YOU.

Man, if you read through the recent ATF thread on this, 95% of the vocal anti-Bruce sentiment is coming from politics regs.

None of us would care at all if it weren't for SMPers continually pestering us and being a nuisance for months on end. It's absurd, the amount of ill will they've managed to gin up on his behalf. You'd think the more sane members of BruceZ's circle would quietly tell chez and co. to give it a rest for a bit.

I would not describe masque as incoherent. Also, I don't see anything wrong with writing angrily while eschewing swear words.

Trollyish repeating that oh so trollish tribalistic "shut up" argument, again. Poor little fellow has to endure polite, thoughtful people with interest in politics in the midst of his range. Such humanity must seem like a blinding glare of light to behold to such a cave-dwelling type by name. Cool hair though.

When will he ever figure out politics unchained is separate forum from that regular old politics?

I mean these guys are gossiping like they are around the fire at home, but lol they must have gotten lost by running their mouths when they should have been watching where they were going.

Oh I apologize, am I gossiping and mocking again? ****s like a habit, huh?

Pvn is one of the most irritating people i have met in my life always distorting and manipulating things people say to fit his general hunting campaign in some fantasy activist land that if realized would be the ultimate totalitarian system of conformity and lead to the worse revolution imagined in violence.
That's coherent in your view? I can go find more. The dude's grasp of English isn't just poor because he's not a native speaker, his grasp of reality is tenuous at best. His writing flows from utopian fantasies about brains working together to build brilliant ethical communities to **** like the quote above, there's something very wrong with him.

Also, I didn't say or even imply that there was something wrong with not swearing, but OK, good to know.

Can we can an undertitle update?

pvn
ultimate totalitarian

Someone can be both coherent and wrong. I've certainly made clear that I disagree with him, but I have no problem understanding his meaning. His writing on this issue has an internal logical consistency built upon faulty premises.

I also think you were claiming that he wasn't being angry like a normal person would, implying that he might go to extremes beyond what a normal person would do, like a violent outburst fueled by emotion.

These exist?

All i've seen is nutters who refuse to believe that reality is what it is. That think with enough wishful thinking and history rewriting, they can trick other people as nutty as they are into believing a fake version of events.

I must rethink my position of David Sklansky. He always seemed like a starry-eyed math dope, but apparently he can accept reality, mostly, and make sensical decisions.
05-05-2015 , 06:55 PM
I think I'd almost certainly put David Sklansky in the top five highest quality P/PU posters among people who have posted in this thread.
05-05-2015 , 06:56 PM
The politics regs can't even get the setting or the context correct in their fake version of events.

Hell, they don't even show many signs of understanding the basics of how people work in reality, so no shocker the finer details and nuance of the situation are elusive to them. Even when put right out in the open.

By all means, proceed..

How you "feel like" people work seems to have no relationship to reality.
