It seems to me that the room temperature has actually been a lot better than it used to be. While certain tables are cold at times, it doesn't seem at all like the times when people were blowing on their hands and stomping their feet to see if they could still feel them. I always bring my sweatshirt, but lots of times now I don't need to put it on. It used to be I'd have it on all the time, and still be freezing.

But then again, maybe I'm just remembering to take my thyroid pills more often, and that's what's heating me up.

Folks,

This thread is for Hard Rock discussion only. For general regional discussion please use the Tampa thread in Regional Communities. I just moved several posts there pertaining to area casinos. As always, any comments or questions are to be directed to the Moderation Discussion thread. Thanks.

So I came for a visit last week. The dealers were a mixed bag as they are everywhere. I have a question about the floor/brush staff. Do they just let regs hop tables as they please?

I ask because when my name was called, I went to the table I was assigned to find it full. Another player pointed to an empty seat at the next table and said "That's your seat there". There was a suit standing there who seemed to agree. There was no transfer list. I wasn't in the mood to make a fuss about it. But I sat down to a nit party.

Ultimately, I'm not too upset about it because I hit a high hand in that seat. I just want to know if this is something I should look out for if I play there in the future and how some of you handle these situations.

Standard. When in Rome...

It's not "fair" and I try to play by the rules, but as far as I'm concerned you gotta do what you gotta do. To be fair, us regs get away with stuff that visitors don't.

it's currently the biggest problem in this room. regs seating themselves. very annoying and unfair, even to us regs that try to play by the rules. aside from getting screwed out of good tables, it's very frustrating to be sent from the podium then have to go back to the podium. dealers and floors want to avoid confrontation just as much as they're "helping regs".

please complain about this if you get the survey email or have time to drop a card in the suggestion box at the front desk. they're slow to make changes... but they do seem to have been adjusting to player complaints more in the past 2 years.

Yes this is a problem. In the future, always have the Brush swipe your card into the open seat at the table before leaving the Brush stand. This will eliminate most problems. You can also ask the Brush if there are any transfers to that table before going to the table.I would then ask for a Supervisor,if i arrive at the table and no seat was available.

Why can't the brush let people know the next table a new game is starting on? It's like a world class sprint with people running to a new table when its announced. SMH

Didn't have a chance to get down to the Rock this weekend, how'd the "Hot Table" promotion go?

surprisingly very smooth. There was a lot of excitement in the room with the table cheering as the RNG stopped on their table number. Obviously the 2/4 limit cheers were louder than 1/2NLor 2/5NL

I was there Friday afternoon and the same table hit twice in a row.

promo is rigged obv.

In all seriousness, it seemed like it brought excitement & foot traffic to the room. I'm a big fan of the new promo so far.

Alright so last night was my first time playing live poker in FL since moving here. Alright room. Dealers were good. Few hot cocktail waitresses with smushed boobs.

Not nearly as nice as Mohegan or Foxwoods where I used to play up north. $5 beers, ouch. That was rough. The felt at my table was pretty gross and there was trash and bottles all over the floor that nobody ever came by to clean up. And those pictures on the walls........tilting. Art would be nice instead of pictures of a bunch of clowns.

They do a full clean under the tables at 7 am every day and periodically throughout the evenings. You have to understand this is a temporary room until final construction plans are approved for the new hotel building that will be constructed where the current room is now. It's hard rock, where musicians are the focus and you want art? they do have a suggestion box where comment cards are in fact read by shift management but not necessarily room management

Did not know it was a temporary setup. With regards to the pictures I just didn't think a picture of Kevin Federline or some N Sync dude looking at his cell phone were worthy of a spot on the wall.

There are always the other rooms in Tampa that you can go to. Only problem is there are feces on their walls instead of pictures of cut-rate musicians.

I'm a professional who is moving to Tampa in about three months and I have 2 questions:

Where I play now, Horseshoe So Indiana, after you play a certain amount of hours (1,000), you get to go to the top of seating list so you never have to wait. Anything like that at the HR? Or will I just have to call in advance and get put on the list?

Secondly, since I put in a lot of hours, eating at the food court can get expensive and it's usually pretty unhealthy. I usually bring my dinner and heat it up in the microwave in our poker room. Does the poker room or food court there have a microwave or am I SOL?

Thanks

You are SOL for the most part.

No such thing as going to the top of the seating list after you play a certain amount of hours.

No such thing as calling in advance to get on the list.

No microwave; no bringing your own food unless you sneak something in.

You do earn comp dollars which can be used at many of the restaurants (but not the food court last I heard).
