The money on the table thing is why when the promotion gets really large like this, $300 to hot seat winner, $100 to everybody else seated at the table. Or whatever split you want to make it. But include the whole table.

I actually think that would be awesome if the casino did it that as the promotion and would probably bring in so many more donks just trying to bink a "Hot table" once or twice throughout the night, but the person who wins it would lose money if they did it the way you are discussing. They take your tax information and you have to pay taxes on the $1,000 at the end of the year. You have to give your tax information on any free prize money given over $600... Which is why places like Derby do $599 a lot instead.

i kind of get what you are saying but...

1. the seminoles have different regulations and are required to report all prizes for taxes... even small ones (stinks for us as winners... but honestly the more oversight the better with this casino)

2. if they did it the way suggested above, the winner wouldn't pay taxes on the whole thing... just the portion they get. the rest of the table would be on the hook for whatever portion they receive.

It's definitely more work for the staff, so maybe do it every hour and double the promo. If it lasts for 12 hours and you are there, it's fairly likely you will at least get the table prize once or more (like 33% if the room averages 30 cash tables).

Agreed. "Hot table" every hour, everyone on the table wins $200. Think that would definitely bring in more people too.

Are the min/max buy ins for cash games still the same as stated on the first page?

"Hot table" idea would be perfect. Wouldn't cost any more than the current promo, the players would love it, the room would be even busier, and it would be better for the games.

Therefore, it could never happen.

False. Just the other day some SSS nit who had been sitting with a <$50 stack on a 2/5 for over 2 hours won the hot seat for a grand and pockets every single black chip. Truly a cringeworthy sight.

Needless to say when he got stacked the whole table erupted in celebration. They need to force the chips to stay in play for the sake & longevity of the game.
They need to force people to play? Damn. I get the $1000 and walk out right there on the spot! Me and my $50 are out the door.

It would be much better if they awarded $100 to everyone at the table. This way the money would more likely be staying put. Better for the game, better for the room, as they would rake some of it it back.

Looks like THR is going to do this in April. Weekend hourly hot tables, $200 per person I think.

Yep. I was there playing last night and they made an announcement. Fri/Sat hot table...everyone $200. Still $500 high hands Sun-Thurs. And if you play 100 hours in April I believe it's $250 Visa gift card.

High hands are $300 not $500 every 30 minutes next month and i was told you can earn more than 1 Gift Card for the real Degens.

Wonder if we get a cut for thinking of it?

Since there is a slim chance somebody at THR is reading this and didn't come to the same conclusion on their own can I make one more recommendation. If you are too cheap to hire a company to do it, go down to the USF school of mechanical engineering and see if you can get some high level class to design a fix your climate control as a class project so we aren't freezing all the time.

Yeah like they're gonna put another dollar into the temporary room.

They don't need to put any money into it, just turn the damn AC off (or at least tune it down)... lol In fact, it would actually save them money....

They need some AC, if not the place would be an oven during busy hours.

They're not putting significant resources into the existing room imo. They're biding their time for the new room

Obviously they need some AC.... lol But they don't need the place to be 68* with cold air beating down you at all times either....

April looks like top notch promos. Hot table is a great improvement, some high hands during the week, and a gift card for total hours that doesn't exclude weekend play. I can finally say, "Well done, Hard Rock," without a side order of sarcasm!

They are doing a nice job of mixing up the Promotions each month this year and creating a little more interest.
