Pretty much no waiting lists at all while I was there (5:30-11). Plenty of 1/2 and a few 2/5 games.
Respin if you hit those? First night of promotion - Wow, that's almost a deal killer. May not make the trip tonight, now.

out of prizes first day?... that's bull ****. and pretty much false advertising. i'm coming down this weekend and was specifically adjusting my schedule to get to thr at midnight. might just go to derby lane.

appreciate the updates. please post if they replace the prizes.

also, anyone know what's specifically in the bag of swag?

Hahaha, that's such garbage, and on the first day. Uh, if they "ran out", they could easily not be dickbags and give compensation equal to the prizes landed on, but no, the whole idea was to intentionally mislead people about the value of the promotion. HR is a joke

If the bag of swag is a left over from the summer promotion it will be a hoodie, travel coffee mug, t-shirt, hat, and a card cap spinner in a small duffel bag/gym bag.

Yeah same bag of swag from the summer, as detailed above.

There was a guy in front of me in the wheel spinning line complaining about the false advertising aspect and the guy behind the desk was getting all confrontational with him saying "Well it says in the advertisement 'while supplies last' so it's not false advertising". Like we were supposed to expect them to run out of multiple prizes in the first half of the first day of a 12 day long promotion. What a joke.

thanks for the follow up.

it's still false advertising. they have to keep a reasonable supply to meet expected demand and length of the promotion. electronics stores used to do that, advertise some big screen tv at 20% the cost and only have 2 just to draw them in. no idea if any consumer laws pertain to an indian casino though...

anyway... i guess i'll just come regular hours or go to derby lane when i get down there. good luck guys.

wow, that is a rip off. Any chance they reset the big prizes each day, so that at least each one is available once each day? Or is it there was just one, period, and when it's gone, it's gone.

edit: is anyone there now who could ask? I was planning on heading in, but might not if the wheel is half empty.

It would have to be a federal law, not state law.

However, when I downloaded the PDF file from the THR website that explained the promotion, it clearly says the following that gets them off the hook:
Wheel of Prizes*:

The Legendary Tablet • Best-Selling MP3 PLAYER • $100 - $1,000 CASH
Beats Pro Headphones • Hoyt Corkins Poker Pro Eyewear
$150 - $500 Visa & Apple Gift Card
$345 entry New Year’s Eve No Limit Hold’em Tournament
2 Fresh Harvest Buffets • Poker Swag Pack

* Prizes based on availability and may be substituted at any time.

Details at Seminole Player’s Club. No purchase necessary. Must be 21 or older and a
Player’s Club member to participate. The rules of this promotion may be modified or
cancelled by management at any time based on operational and/or business concerns.
Also, they don't mention in their advertisement the odds of winning any particular prize.

This ruined it for me - was going to try to make it 2 or 3 of the days but not if it is 80% swag bags.

They apparently have an allotted amount for each day. Entire wheel reset today. Some things different though.

So they took off one swag bag for a 2 buffet for today, which is a possible borderline improvement and took off the $500 apple card for a tournament entry, which is a huge loss. Really should have made that a second $500. But no real surprise.

To everyone calling anything about this a ripoff, you're absurd. If the wheel were one $1000 spot and 31 $0 spots, that's still $6 an hour, which is almost as good as gas cards for 20 by itself. It's only a ripoff to people who just can't play those hours.

Thanks for the update alex I was just about to ask if they were replacing the stuff they were out of but I was to lazy to walk over and ask someone. Most of the players are already complaining at my table.

That's $6/hour in Sklansky bucks or something, isn't it?

I think people think it's a ripoff in the sense that THR said nothing about the prizes being gone each day as the spins get hit. Normally when an ad says something like "while supplies last" it means they have a bunch, but not unlimited amount. Like the iPOD promo said that, but they gave away hundreds of them.

that's a lot different than saying that people can start spinning the wheel at say 5am, and if you spin at 6am, then many of the good prizes may be gone for that day. If THR had just said what they were going to do, rather than imply one thing and offer another, the feeling of getting ripped off would be much less.

They should have advertised it like they did the quads promo, where they let you know only the first 10 quads or whatever get paid. They didn't say "hey, get quads and win" and then tell you only the first 10 get paid once you get there.

I don't think it's a ripoff, I just feel misled. I'm not sure how you can run a 12 day long promo and run out of prizes before the first day is over. I don't think anyone would have a problem if they replaced out of stock items with items of equal value.

When are the $345 tourneys? Can you sell the tourney ticket? If so, anyone know the going rate?

this.

i think alex m is right, still good ev. but it's offensive to advertise something and not deliver reasonably. i'd feel the same way if some restaurant said they were selling filet mignon steaks for a dollar and then when i got there they said they ran out after the first 3 and were substituting with sirloin burgers. still a good deal but not what i was told was going to be there. i was going to use a sex analogy but figured it would be deleted... lol

I was told that is exactly what you get. Does anyone know the specifics of the tournament outside of starting time.Guarantee? Blind Structure? Can you buy in? Is re-enry allowed?

It might have been poorly stated by them, but it was also very obviously that this promotion is about them getting rid of all the random crap they have lying around. Some things they won't have much of. Should they just not give out iPods if they only have 10?

i'm only in the room a few times a year so i didn't get that sense (but i believe you). i was only going off their website which seemed to me to be a big promotion to draw people in using a 12 days of Christmas theme. i do see the disclaimer about "availability" though.

i think if they had 10 ipods to give away, they should make a promo for first 10 "somethings" gets an ipod. but i digress... in the end it's better than nothing. and i will still give my business to the tampa hard rock because of the action at the tables.

see you guys this weekend (if my fiance lets me or goes to bed early)!

I wonder if they have a limited supply of the $1000 cash prize. I'd bet that if it gets hit, it comes off the wheel for at least that day.

Got an IPad and Dinner for 2 so far. I fully expect to get 6 swag bags minimum, but am already freerolling for the promotion . I've found i like the 6-12 crowd much better than midnight-5. Midnight to 5 seems like a huge nitfest, full of people just staying longer than they normally would to grind out a spin.

Incorrect. Unlimited supply. It got hit on the first spin on day 1.
