Assuming they have 4 cashiers working, which is a great assumption, it would take over an hour to get 200 people registered. So the people that lined up late had to wait 1.5 hours and then another hour or so, and then wait another couple hours till the tourney starts. lol

At least some of the other times, I will be there anyway and get in line when it starts to build.

This promo sucks, now even on the times that I would be there anyway, I would have to cash out from my game to stand in line for 2 hours at least(to line up early then wait to get registered) then get another seat in cash game for about 2 hours then play for a couple hours in a tourney that I have a very small chance of making any money in, due to the turbo structure and having to get top 20 out of 200.

While at the same time letting people that never contribute to the Jackpot/promo fund play. Sounds like too much wasted time.

So if you are in the back of the line, you just have to wait for a couple hours to find out if your in the 1st 200? lol

I showed up at 1. The line was already 200 deep. A security officer had counted to where 150 was, and there were at least 50+ people lined up behind that.

I would say that there were not a lot of regulars in the line. Mostly new faces. Good and bad I suppose. Good to bring in new players, bad because the players that contribute to the fund don't get rewarded.

Half of the room was empty in preparation for the freeroll. Unfortunately, that meant that the lists were fairly long, and it didn't look like any new tables were going to be opened soon. With only 3 $2-5 tables running, I decided to leave. If I can't get in the freeroll, and I can't play cash, what's the point of being there? Good job Hard Rock Tampa. What a waste of time.

Watching OKC vs. Chicago instead. OKC!

This is by far the worst promo that THR has come up with. Even the promos I would never be able to complete (hours for stuff) are better because at least everyone has a chance. To show up5 hours before a free roll to get in a crapshoot donkfest is ridiculous. Thanks THR, at least having to pay the ridiculous rake at Derby gets me stuff. This gets us nothing.

Yea, if they could have some time of qualify period like, play 3 hours the day before and get a ticket, would be great. But they are cutting it off at 200 people so they can't do that because what if 400 people played the 3 hours the day before.

How are the lists for cash games? Did they have dealers to open up tables as needed?

2 /4 limit and 1/2 Nl have 40 deep lists, 1/3 and 2/5 Nl are about 20 deep
As far as dealers I'm not sure.

Thats what I figured, the whole idea of this promo, from their point of view, was to get alot of people to the poker room on freeroll days and capitalize by earning extra rake from all the extra tables open.

But as usual they didn't schedule enough dealers to handle the influx of additional people for the promo.

I got there about 1:15pm. As I was walking in from the North Garage, there was this line about 3 deep starting at the cigar stand next to the gift shop. I thought it must be a slot promo day, as the line was so big.

So I walk alongside the line, and turn into the poker room hallway, and it turns out to be the poker line. I hardly recognized any regulars in the line at all. I go to the stand, and am #3 for the 2/5nl. I see the guy who runs the tourneys, and another supervisor guy standing around, so I mention to them that there are way over 200 in line, and shouldn't they count down or hand out numbers or something so that so many people past 200 don't stand in line for another hour, when everyone knows they won't get a seat.

They sort of had an attitude, and said they need to run it as is, and then see if there are any problems. I said "can't you go ahead and anticipate some problems so they don't happen?" and they said they do, and there would be problems with ticket numbers too, so they will just let it run.

I think they got everyone registered around 2:45 then announced that the tourney was filled. So the line then shifted over to the cash game line, which had huge lists already, since they had already blocked out the last to rows of tables for the tourney. So you ended up with tons of people waiting to play cash, with 20 tables that will be sitting empty for 3 hours.

It was really a cluster from what I could see.

amazing how seemingly unprepared they were. it's like they're trying to be idiots on purpose, piss off a bunch of players/regs while simultaneously getting the least possible benefit out of their own promo

So how many players are left now, 3.5 hours into it?
Anybody have an idea of how many re-entry there was?
