Maybe not yet. The hotels are pretty full most weekends, and pretty empty most weeknights (they are also closing off whole floors to avoid staffing costs, which sometimes leads to turning away customers, saying they are sold out when they have whole empty floors).
I don't know if this is any good long-term, though, and if they don't do something, their basic traffic (from gamblers, who are most of their customer base now) may drop by (say) 30% when Mass casinos open in a couple of years. If they can't replace this somehow, I would guess that they'll have to do something with surplus hotel rooms. (Fox Tower condo's?)

The idea of living at foxwoods is depressing enough to make me want to find a cliff but that's actually a really good idea. I'm sure people would bite.

After hearing Badugi was in the big mix game that is usually O.E., I asked two different floor personnel and they seemed to think so, but really had no idea.

From what I had heard, their particular gaming commish wouldn't let them spread draw (where players handle the cards), as opposed to across the street, where they can spread it, but rarely spread much FL at all.

I've tried to figure this out and can't get a straight answer. If nobody knows, I'll probably write an email to the poker room manager or something, but I'm putting my faith in 2p2 first, thx.
Gaming commission approved badugi months ago. But word is nobody is trained to deal it and so the room won't spread it, even in the big mix game. Maybe that'll change in the future. No other draw games approved.

Low stakes o8 seems to go up to 5-10 on weekends. Around tourney time there should be higher interest and 20 OE is possible, sometimes even 30 or 50 depending on who's in the room. 75 mix goes regularly and usually includes OE, sometimes H and sometimes limit O-hi.

Was about to call to speak to a rep there about reserving some rooms but figured I'd see if anyone has experience/tips first.

Planning a trip to FW with a group of about 15-20 ppl total. Fri + Sat night. I've already reserved a room, so have two friends. One of my friends won a wsop event this summer (500k+, he's a pro) and I thought I'd try to ask Foxwoods to comp us rooms. Figured I'd see if I can leverage taking our business to Mohegan instead. Not sure if they will care. Any idea?

What gambling games will you guys play and how big will you be betting? Doubt they will give you anything without a history of gambling there but if you guys bet big enough you may be able to get some comps after your first night of play.

You won't get anything up front.

Yea you won't get anything by using the going to Mohegan line. Your only real play would be to have the dude who won the 500k, or any of you really, to go and bet massive amounts on table games for a while one night. Then ask a host for rooms on the nights you are planning. Might be a longshot but I obviously don't have experience with that.

Yeah that's what I figured. I was hoping to have some rooms arranged for the additional friends that are coming without making them book it. Although I just checked and it looks like TT is pretty cheap right now, 400 for the weekend.

Aside from having us spread out in poker (1/2 to whatever the highest limit is at the time of NLHE) would probably be putting a 2-10k down at blackjack, roulette, and craps. The last time my winning friend was at FW we were betting in blackjack (referencing for history) with max bets but im not sure if he was using his card, so I'm not sure if they'll have any gambling history.

Honestly, this won't get all the rooms comped, just the friend's who is betting that.

They have a bunch of weird games approved that they won't spread because of not training their dealers. They use to have a list at the entrance. Asian poker, Jacks Back, and a bunch I can't remember. They spread 10/20 draw in the 90s, I remember playing that back when holdem was only 25% of the spread games.
As far as training to deal Badugi, it would literally take ten minutes to show any current dealer.

Yeah Badugi isn't a difficult game at all I don't understand why they can't train their staff. I played it for the first time a few weeks ago, good game.

instead of risking thousands and thousands of dollars in the pit wouldn't it be more logical to just fork up the money for a room? if he won 500k+ does 400$ matter at all?

Tanger is definitely a mid to low range discount outlet mall. It will pull zero traffic from the Premium Outlets at Wrentham. If there is a strategy beyond getting some up front money to keep going, it is to appeal to the bus tour crowd. The hope is that once they finished shopping, they'll fire some coins into the slot machine or play bingo.
