Overdue trip report for Saturday 5/17

Took the bus, got to poker room around 10. Started lists for plo and plo8. Played about 2 hours nlhe at a table under the arch right at the intersection. Marc was day shift supervisor. Walks past me, we wave to each other, he turns and heads back to a computer terminal at a floor persons stand. Come back to me and says, Silky, we've got 6 on a list for plo, take a look around the room, see if you've got the players to start a game, and I'll call it.

HUH? Bizzarro World? Some parallel universe? I'd died and gone to heaven?

Nope none of the above.

That was all I've ever asked for the room? Great customer service! Know your customers!

Of course I walk around the room and find only one other player I know would play, so I never did get back to him, and didn't want to lie and say we had a game if I wasn't sure.

None the less, within 15 minutes a couple of names were added, game got called (The guy at the desk calling the game and knowing we only had 9 initials on list, followed his reading of the list with, "and anyone interested in playing plo go to table xx. Again a little thing but there can be players in the room who might want to play and the invitation was a good heads up to head over)

So what happens, 12 players show up, Immediate list, game was ok action. At 3:00 a must move was called. That game started with about 8 players and shortly thereafter was filled and a list now for the must move. Heard action on that table was off the charts so when they got called to main game they didn't want to move. At 6 with both games going strong plo8 was called and that went, so for a brief time we had 3 plo games running. Must move fizzled after the plo8 started as it took some players from plo, but that's cool. Plo8 was full with list when I left for the bus at 11. Plo, I believe ran through the night and was still running when I got up mid Sunday.

Thank you floor, great job.

Skip ahead to last Sunday, Slingtown and I headed down last minute. Meet up around 1, puled into lot about 2:30. He was checking Bravo, only 3 names on list at 1 and same amount when we got in the poker room, so we were no. 4 & 5. List swelled shortly to 8, meaning that within 15 minutes 5 players had signed on for plo. Again the day shift supervisor was the same person, I didn't see him prior to the game getting called, but when that list went from 3 to 8, it was called quickly. We started 8 handed with some of the craziest plo action I've even been involved in. Within the first 10 hands we had a least 4 hands that were 4 way or more all in preflop. Funniest part was the guy sitting next to me who was waiting for a 5-10 no limit seat. He was getting it in good every time, but not coming out the same why. He was practically pleading for his 5 -10 seat to open so he could play a sane game.

Another good think for the game was how many new players were there when the games started. I hardly recognized any of the players last week or last Saturday and the atmosphere at the table was really good.

So kudos to the people running the room, for being on top of knowing the customers in the room and for getting or at least trying to get the games going the players in the room want to play.

Now give me my free rooms back!!!! Please (lol)

Maybe my whining paid off. Received a $20 restaurant coupon and a two night free stay, Sun-Thur from now until 6/30. Was just about to write this place off!

Hey folks, I was planning on hitting up Foxwoods next week. Being self-aware degen, I do not want to bring any credit or debit cards. Are there any decent yet inexpensive hotels in the area that will accept cash? I wasn't sure whether or not all places in the area required a credit card.

Thanks

Gotcha. I suppose I'll call around to the non-Foxwoods hotels and see if they can accommodate. Thanks for the reply.

Foxwoods will accept a $100 deposit instead of a cc

Anyone know how many points/hour playing blackjack will earn? Say ~25$/hand?
Quote

10%/hr. So at $25/hand you'll get 2.5 pts/hr.

... and this is time played - bathroom breaks, gabbing with the cocktail server, Wong-ing it, etc, do not count.

Wow, someone with a blakc card gets more at 1/2 than at 25-a-hand BJ.

I've asked this before, bu can't seem to get an answer. If your card is the red one they give upstairs, are you eligible for the black card program, or do you have to get an actual poker card to qualify?

It's all the same thing. The physical card means nothing.
