I doubt it will ever happen in tournaments due to chip dumping

I would be shocked if this rule, not showing if other player mucks, is allowed in tournaments. Too easy for collusion. Don't like it in cash either but it's easier to understand it being allowed.

Yeah, and if it does happen I'll never play another tournament at Foxwoods.

Well then you should stop playing immediately because foxwoods tournaments switched to TDA rules last year so the winning hand does not have to be shown if the bettor mucks (unless it's an all-in situation)

the winner of a hand having to show ifthe bettor mucks is an east-cost only, terrible rule created by the new jersery gaming commission and applied to other venues that has caused no less than 5 major problems at foxwoods that i have personslly seen in the last 6 or so months alone, every time because the bettor mucks, a bad dealer fails to actually muck the cards, the "winner" shows an actually inferior hand, followed by the mucker taking their cards back, which of course the floor rules live

good job getting rid of this terrible rule

Yeah I play more in AC anyway and have many other reasons not to play @ Foxwoods.

I agree that having to show your hand when there is not another live hand competing for the pot is ridiculous. I had never seen it before until I played at FW.
Has anyone other dealer or floor confirmed that it was changed?
Seeyouontheriver can confirm that on Thursday, we were still needing to show at our table

And where is this addressed in the TDA rules? I could not find it.

Found it in 2011 version.

13.Contested Showdown /Playing the Board.
All hole cards must be shown to win a contested
showdown,even if playing the board.
*
14.Uncontested Showdown.
In a non all-in showdown, when all opponent(s)cards have been
mucked without being revealed, the last live hand wins.
Opponents who muck at showdown without revealing
their hands also lose the right to ask to see the winning hand

The 2013 version did remove the wording of last live hand wins, but still shows if you muck at showdown you get no right to ask to see other hand.

I asked a floor about the rule change and she said it changed to. I'm in favor of rule change and if a player asks to see the winning hand then dealer should ask why do you want to see? If the player says 'collusion' then the hand will be revealed one time only.

I'm just amazed at how difficult it is for everyone to be on the same page.

This is my point. We were just across the room and every dealer, though none as good or as fluent in English, as the one who informed your table and the old man floor guy are not informed. Why wouldn't there be a mass memo and a discussion at the beginning of shifts of the new rule?

Ok. Just received clarification. If there is action on the river then a hand must be shown to claim the pot. If it goes check check and the opposing hand(s) muck then they last remaining hand does not have to show

Came up yesterday at my table. Dealer and 2 floor confirmed hand not needed to be shown if other player mucks first

Whats the best way to book a room? It seems like the Mohegan website is quite a bit more user friendly for booking comped/ discounted rooms.

How many runners were in the July 5 $400 tourney? Anybody know? I'd like to know if I made a good decision playing golf instead.

And when will the next such tournament be, prob not until Labor Day?

Log in. Click on Offers and Events. Any room offers will be listed there. They are listed first, followed by Bonus Slot Play, Rewards Points offers, etc.

It drew 146 entries, the results are up on FW's website already: Results

Correct, the next official $400 holiday one is on Labor Day. You probably can expect the same 120-150 turn out although the $400 Memorial Day one in May drew even more at 180.

FW is going to have another $400 one in like two weeks on July 18/19 for their newer weekend mini series that they've run a few times already. That one is fun as they'll have two day 1s on Fri & Sat then combine for day 2 on Sunday. You also get to play less than 9 hours on the days 1s as they have to keep both fields on the same levels which is nice change for us degen who are use to the 12-15 hour day 1 grinds

Thanks Billy. I'd love to play in those weekend series, but my small problem is the 2+ hour drive to FW each way. My big problem is that I come from the north, from a Commonwealth which stupidly, ignorantly, chose to not to allow its citizens a tax deduction for gambling losses... while they're negotiating to try and build world class casinos. Pretty pathetic eh? But who cares about my problems? Not my "representatives", that's for sure. From time to time I take a shot at a bankroll, but I can't make it a habit. under current conditions.

Anyhoo... play well, you lucky sonofaguns.
